i ride brakless but i never really used them only for stopping and stopping from rolling back on tailwhips. i do like brakes i must admit but theres so much hastle with rims, brakepads, having the cables out of the way, fixing them and even having a puncher sucks having to take the pads out. there is alot off work for brakes and i just wanted to have a simple bike so i went just with the front and never really used it so i went brakless

choose your set-up because you are comfortable with it, not because everyone else is doing it.  That said, it run no brakes since I was inspired by York.  I think I might put fronts on though

the new schol riders or new riders tend
to go brakeless or go with no brakes in the back. that is
fine up to a point as you can learn some tricks brakeless
and no back brakes but the basics and tricks you need to
linkt other tricks together..you need to have both brakes
to feather etc...... brakeless riders and riders with no back
brake but just front brakes tend to get to a point and then
cant progress any further. this is why you see the same
trick over and over again in videos or same type of linkts
being done over and over again. the only rider who really
can go brakeless is chase gouin and he can continue to
progress ta breaking speed.

i think myself that kev is right in this and flatland has gotten
pretty stupid with this brakeless thing and no back brakes
and i have gone back to a full on brake thing to progress.

i hate watching contest because i keep seeing the same thing over and over again; after one person finished run the next guy comes and its almost like its the same guy

i prefer riding for fun there is alot more originality in it

kevin jones is the father of flatland
and really knows what he is talking about
and i agree with him and like someone else said
seeing the same old linkt or thing done in videos
is getting old for me too.

i wished more new school and new riders go back
to the setup flatland was suppose to be in
front and back brakes where you progress
past a point and not get stuck doing the same old thing
in tricks and linkts.

i know what you mean. but for me i never progressed with brakes cos i could never set them up the way i wanted to and was some much hard work for me. i spending a whole day setting up the brakes and then i would get a puncher and and to take pads or or even lossen the cables to ge the wheel off. i ride brakeless and yes i do agree that tricks are all the same with hitch hickers and halfpackers and steam rollers. it will change soon enough though, with the new genoration of riders comming out
