2015 Fishbone Kong-FU2
« on: October 05, 2020, 02:51:07 AM »
I switched from a 1999 Haro Zippo to a 2015 Fishbone Kong-FU2. I look like a giant next to it!

Over time I'm going to be changing all of the parts except the frame, fork, and pegs to newer, better parts to make it lighter. Already got a head start on that with the seat, seatpost, and seat clamp.

That's awesome! I like the Kung Fu 2. I think it was a brave move on their part.

When I got my first new school frame, I did the exact same thing. I threw together a 2011 Hoffman Stowler with whatever parts would fit it. Then, changed stuff as time went on.

Eventually, I figured out what I liked and needed in the new school bike realm and after acquiring all the parts I wanted, I switched frames. But I learned everything I could possibly learn about new school sizing / geometry / parts that way.
I don't miss old school technology one bit.
But old school style and art? We live in a world of a thousand one color decals. Old school aesthetics win a thousand times over.
