Timezone settings?

This is a technical question about the site, wasn't sure where to post it, hope here is ok:


How do I correctly set my timezone so that date/time stamps on things like new posts are correct in reference to my local time? Currently everything is off because, I assume, it is set to a different time zone.


Usually this type of setting is found in account settings but I don't see it on my account settings page?

Never mind, I found it. I was looking in the wrong place, it is located under "look and layout" of the "modify profile" page.


It was set to auto detect timezone but I guess it wasn't auto detecting correctly, so I manually entered the offerst and now my local time is correct.
