Why the "Nose Up" Seat Angle?
« on: May 23, 2014, 05:09:55 AM »
Disclaimer:  I searched for "seat tilt" and "seat angle" and didn't find an answer to my question, so...

I've been absent from flatland for well over 20 years, and now that I've got the itch to ride again, I'm trying to understand why so many riders have their seats tilted at such a weird angle with the nose up?

I understand that a flatland bike isn't meant for ride any distance, but as a guy, sitting on a seat angled up in front is... uh... uncomfortable to say the least!

Here's an example of what I'm referring to:

I started doing hang fives. It levels it out the seat when you're on your front wheel only. Also helps with barspins. Hips back, torso forward and your legs catch where the seat widens.
