Do you mind explaining what the specs on the flat represent? Also the benefit/ con for the specs. I'm trying to take in as many terms as possible in the BMX world. Thanks.  O0

  • 110mm female axle
  • 7075-T6 aluminum inner axle
  • 3/8" bolt
  • 17mm wrench and 8mm allen key
  • bolt thread: 24 tpi
  • 9T driver
  • 36H
  • ACB bearings

  • bolt thread: 24 tpi
  • 9T driver
  • 36H
  • ACB bearings

  • 110mm female axle- This means that it will fit between most dropouts, excluding old Quamen's and Sickchild drop outs. Female means you can slam your wheel and remove it without removal of your chain.
  • 7075-T6 aluminum inner axle - 7000 series alum. is pretty hard metal but not as hard as Chromoly(I'm a little worried about this axle, but time will tell)
  • 3/8" bolt- The bolt that threads into the female axle is 3/8"
  • 17mm wrench and 8mm allen key- it has a 17mm cone nut and a 8mm allen cut into the end of the axle so you can keep the axle from spinning while dialing in and taking apart/ putting back together your hub.
  • bolt thread: 24 tpi- the 3/8" bolts have 24 threads per inch
  • 9T driver- the driver or thing your chain fits on has 9 teeth
  • 36H- the hub shell has 36 holes so you also need a 36 hole rim and 36 spokes
  • ACB bearings- ACB stands for angular contact bearing. Freecoasters have to suck up large side loads and regular bearings don't take side loads very well.
  • Does that help? Or did you mean something else?

The inner axle seems to be pretty crappy.
I heard from 2 people who broke them already! :/

Better go with the heavier 14mm greyhound version if you can. ;)
Or something else..... (I myself got a Cassette hub now :D)

3/8-24tpi is a popular thread pitch for female axles.

Eh? I am 100% sure you have to take the chain off still to remove a wheel.  :crash:

Im pretty sure he meant you dont have to take apart the chain or fart arse about trying to get enough slack in the chain to get the wheel off. With a female axle you can just undo both the bolts & drop the wheel out.

lol if your stripping out 7000 series aluminum center axles, your doing it wrong!! (ive owned many hubs with the 7000 series alum center axle, not one problem!)

#1 secret that most people cant ever seem to grasp is ANTI SIEZE. use a little, sh*t works WONDERS.
(if the axle is a differnt metal from the bolt, use anti sieze.. if its a cromo axle with cromo nuts, you can run it dry, but id recommed a dab of grease!)

Assuming you're not kidding the dropout spacing on the Sick Child frames are wider than most flatland frames to accommodate chain tensioners on the inside of the dropouts so no this hub is not too wide for Sick Child frames.
