Monthly Colorado Flatland Jam
« on: October 27, 2011, 06:58:01 AM »

Time
First Saturday of every month 2pm - ?? (Next Jam is Saturday, November 5th)
Location
At the cement area just south of the Cherry Creek Shopping Center parking structure.
Info
If you ride flatland or just like to watch guys on bikes get rad, come on out to the Monthly Colorado Flatland Jam! This is the first of many jams and will be held on November 5th from 2pm to ?? at the cement area just south of the Cherry Creek Shopping Center parking structure. Anyone is welcome so bring your family and friends to watch, ride and hangout! Pass the word to anyone that would be interested! Skill level isn't important. This is BMX, so if you ride, your family! New school, old school, mid school, preschool, doesn't matter. We like it all!

Going forward, this jam will be held on the first Saturday of each month from 2pm to ?? in the same spot near Cherry Creek Shopping center so mark your calendars. Of course that is weather permitting. We are currently looking for an indoor spot where we can ride if the weather gets in the way, so if you know a spot, let me know!

That said, this event is never actually "canceled." If the weather is just too much, then we will still get together, regroup and head off to grab some grub and a few barley-pops.

So come on out and support Colorado flatland!

For those wanting the low down, we are still on for this Saturday's Jam. Looks like it might be a little gloomy and cloudy, but we are still going to ride so grab a pair of gloves and a chapeau and be there!

If it is too cold or if we do end up getting some snow, sleet or rain, we will plan to regroup at a local restaurant/bar and have some food and a beer or two. It is going to have to get pretty nasty for us to cancel. Don't want anybody driving on dangerous roads, so barring that, we are on!

I will be bringing a shovel in case we need to clear some areas out and will have a radio and a filled up iPod with some stuff for everybody to ride to. All you have to do is bring yourself and your bike. Done!

Let it roll, baby, roll!

Such a great jam today! I counted at least 11 riders today and quite a few others just hanging out and having fun! It was a good scene and seemed like everyone had a great time and some really great riding went down.

We did end up getting rained out around 4, but we still got a lot of good riding in before then. Thanks to everybody for coming out. Cant wait until the next one! So stoked on Colorado flatland right now!

Speaking of that, the next one will be on December 3rd and will be our Holiday celebration. Still working on details for that, but thinking we might step it up a notch so we can celebrate.

At this point I am opening it up for discussion; what did everybody like and what could be improved? Obviously we can't make everybody happy, but we can do our best. Only thing I have heard so far is that maybe we should change the start time to noon, at least during the winter months.

Also, I know I tried snapping a few shots today and Robert took a few too, but we were really busy riding, so in the future, if anybody wants to take shots and upload them, that would be great. Invite a professional photographer to come out and shoot if you know one. Stills and video are both awesome!

Thanks everybody for coming out and having fun riding and rolling. And especially thanks to all the riders, supporters, spouses, and girlfriends for supporting Colorado flatland.

Monthly Colorado Flatland Jam: Holiday Edition

TimeSaturday, December 3 · 12:00pm - 11:30pm
LocationTouch of Shade Bldg A 12201 E. Arapahoe Road, Centennial, CO, 80112
InfoIts almost that time again! For the December Flatland Jam, we are going to get together indoors, expand the time, have some burgers and beers.
James McGraw has offered the use of his business for an indoor Jam and we of course thank him for it! We will have burgers by grill master Stein. Everybody should post something they can bring to share like chips or something (but lets not all bring chips, aight?). BYOB as well, so this is a bros day/night out to ride and get rad! Anybody is welcome, but definitely a guys night out so probably not appropriate for the kids.

We are going to start early this time at 12:00pm, noon and will ride until we can't no mo. As always, skill level isn't important. New school, old school, mid school, preschool, doesn't matter. We like it all!

This is our chance to celebrate the Holidays, BMX, flatland and good friends. A special surprise is also in the works too!

So come on out and support Colorado flatland!

This, our first jam of the new year, will be held on January 8th 2012 (that is a Sunday so take note) from 2pm to ?? inside Joe's Bike shop on the show room floor. Anyone is welcome, so bring your family and friends to watch, ride and hangout! Pass the word to anyone that would be interested! Skill level isn't important. Monthly Colorado Flatland Jam is a jam series (normally) held on the first Saturday of each month from 2pm to ??. Of course that is weather permitting. This particular Jam is a little different as we have moved it to a Sunday and to an indoor spot. Thanks to Joe of Joe's Bike Shop for letting us hold the Jam in his shop and supporting Colorado flatland!

We now have an indoor spot up north we can use for the weekly sessions, jams and anything else we want!

The deal on the indor Flat Lupton space:
Place used to be a roller skate rink and was most recently a bingo parlor. The flat riding area itself is easily 75 by 90 feet (probably more, I'm not a good judge of that. It's huge). There is a concession area with booths (of course the concession stand won't be running.) There is a set of bleachers we can pull out and a ton of stack chairs. There are even dance and black lights we can turn on. Heated and air conditioned.

$80 a day for as long as we want and as many people as we want. It's up to us to divide that up. (We can even charge people to come in and watch to cut the cost if we want.)

Extra bonus: If there is a Quinceañera or a wedding on Friday or Saturday night and a few of us clean up after, we can ride the next day for free!

I hear there is some sort of ball game on Sunday that is supposedly a big deal. If you don't go out for that kind of thing or would like to come and watch some *other* local athletes get rad, come to the Monthly Colorado Flatland Jam! All are welcome! See above for details!
