Must-watch: Flat Web TV Episode #1
« on: January 05, 2011, 11:04:58 PM »
FlatWebTV the new flatland specific monthly web show that covers the top news and happenings in the world of BMX Flatland Freestyle. We created this show because there really isn’t any thing else out there like this, especially for flatland.

The hosts are Anthony Buglio and Justin Hoey from Portland, Oregon, USA. Both of then have been riding BMX Freestyle and Flatland for over 10 year and both are very dedicated to flatland and want to see it grow to what we all know it can be.

Check it out at FlatWebTV.everydayparadise.com, you can subscribe on iTunes, or on
Vimeo
.

The only trouble is, Portland is NOT the beer capital of the world! With best regards from Germany.

Error Loading video

p.s will there be an episode covering flatland pro's cheating on their wives?
You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In Interwebs his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To Troll! Period! Win by attrition. Well Blindingsun was the best

WIN!!..  Add some riding clips every 5 mins or so and this would be awesome.

This concept is crying for a touch of RadDads video magic...

Some scene correspondants would be sick too.

Thanks JellyRoll it's nice to get a few kudos before the normal Global-Flat forum treatment kicks in. RadDad is actually an inspiration, he tirelessly contributes good vibes.

Good idea too, we've actually got some plans for scene correspondents, live interviews, more riding clips etc.... Episode 2 is already overflowing with ideas. Thanks again.

The reason the embed is not working might be because they have embedding blocked on their side. Check your video settings in vimeo guys.

Very happy to see this being done. It is definitely needed. Glad someone is doing it, but I gotta say, its about time!

A few comments though:

Get rid of the full on right and left channel separation. It's always annoying and distracting. If you want to pan each of you slightly to the left and slightly to the right from center, that is fine, but having it completely separated is just obnoxious.

Get a better set up besides "two guys on a couch." It's been done, it's been done well, and it has been horribly over done.  Try something new. Get off the couch and give us something interesting to look at. Although a half hour is a long time, I would rather see you guys sitting on your top tubes and talking to us the way we would talk if we were hanging out at a spot. See what I mean? Make it interesting and something we are used to at the same time.

Please, please PLEASE, ditch the "what beer are we drinking" thing. It wreaks horribly of Diggnation. You wouldn't bite someones link, don't bite someone else's show, ya know? Come up with your own segments and bits.

A agree, you need to add some more variety with video spots and such. Looks like you played a bit with that. I would say more of that and your doing great.

Also your Podcast RSS feed on itunes isn't working right. You can subscribe, but it wont download right. PM me if you need help getting that working right. It could use some polish in your itunes listing too.

Don't take it as discouragement, take it for what it is: a desire for more! Keep lugging away at it and thank you for doing it.

Hey Jake4130

Thanks very much for the constructive feedback (and technical details). No discouragement at all, and all valid comments. Exactly what we are looking for. You'll surely see some steps forward in episode 2!

Wow this is pretty cool!
Another idea is to include some How To trick clips.
There are tons of beginner riders looking for tips, just look at how many threads and posts made to update the Tricks page on this website.

Or maybe crazy/original trick or link of the month clip.

Oh and interviews with other riders, not just pro guys but some amateurs as well.

Great job guys!

Also Jake4130 thanks for the Technical advice I'll probably be hitting you up for some help with the Podcast feeds.
