'87 General RL Osborn Pro
« on: January 17, 2010, 01:46:31 AM »
I bought one to replace the one I gave away. I am going to be building this up and will be posting progress pix.I will also include discriptions of work done to that point. This pic is from BMX Museum.com for comparison purposes and Approximately where I will be goin' with this.
It will be built with ALOT of parts I bought and Traded for on here. Old ,Mid and New School parts to boot! I loved this bike BITD and have been lookin for one since then But they go for BIG $$$$ in NOS condition. So I found this on Ebay with a $200 starting price ,watched it for a week, noone bid except me and I got it for $200 + $35 shipping. So thats the starting point.
FOR THE RECORD ,I WILL BE RIDING THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my area bitd this bike was like a unicorn that none of us ever saw outside of issues of Freestylin'... lol

Personally, the bike I ALWAYS wanted was the '88(?) Woody Itson Strike Zone. The white/red/chrome finish always did it for me whenever I saw pics of that bike. Have fun with the build!

The bike will come with Dia Compe Nippons on the 1" stock forks ,but I'll use the WTP's I had Chromed and this HS I am getting from todborndead. It will fit in the 1" headtube ,but allow the use of 1 1/8" forks. it took a bit of "prying" from me to score this. Thank You Tod. ;D

Lookin' good Juggers.

A always wanted an Osborn Pro...but never had the money.  Like stated before, it was like a unicorn.

I should be able to get those parts out to you sometime this week.  Well, like the early part of the week.

Just thinking out loud here, but I wonder how much Redlines sales dropped when RL went to General.  Seems that a lot of people that were riding RL-20ll's switched over to Generals when he started riding for them.  Makes you think about how influential he was.

Thanks Tod,I'd have to agree with this mostly because they were cheaper and sure, not US made like RL 20 II's.Thier quality was up there with Haro Since Anlun made most Haros then too. I do think there was a shift because He was such an influence then. ;D I can't wait to finish and Ride her !!

@ Splinter, Thank you too Bro.
