Why aren't I going despite liking the idea of going and competing again?

- Fairly broke after the holiday season, plus just threw down a few hundred on an Ares Garuda impulse buy...

- Still iffy after an ACL injury from November. I've been riding lately just to get back into normal skills mode; contest skills mode is a different matter (wouldn't be in it to win by any means, just to make a respectable showing)

... Really though, it sounds like it's going to be a great event, and I give tons of respect for everyone making it happen as either an organizer or participant. Having just started a new (good) job, I'm hoping to have some spare coin around to make it out to more jams/events in the near future. In the meantime, thanks to all you folks keeping the NA flat scene alive and well.

That's actually really good advice, but luckily I didn't (and wouldn't =) pay full price for one. lol... awfully tempting to try making it out though.

When I used to go to contests, my bike almost never worked properly because I was saving up money for that next plane ticket. I worked my ass off with what I had, including some crazy jerry rigged set ups that ended up making me a much better bike mechanic, but no matter how good my bike rides even today I wouldn't trade that in for any contest I've ever been to and the experiences that went along with it.
