looks like there are many of us in the same boat. I can flip from fwd to backwards  no problem I think my main problem is not spinning fast enough. I am making my circle very large and drawn out. I am like you Clint I start freaking out rolling backwards yet I have put in the time to learn to control my BW hang 5. I would not say I have it dialed in but I can do it most of the time. I have only had 1 opportunity to ride this year. I will hopefully be able to this weekend. My back if feeling much better so I am ready to give it a go.

I also have some videos of Hang 5's from 2 years ago Trick of the Month Hang 5. I will get those posted up to keep things rolling and give everyone some ideas.

I'm currently working on squeakers/bw hang5's, but I think I'm gonna leave them alone 'cause my brakepads are almost dead. ;D So I think I'll try some fw hang5's and also steamroller ride ins this week!

Right on!! How long can you roll them backwards? You can do them backwards with out your brake but it takes a lot to control it at first. After I picked up hang 5 the steamroller just followed suit.

I rolled them like for 7 meters on inclined surface. Here's a little "old" (10 days ago) vid of me learning steams and bw hang5 ;D I progressed a lot with steam, bu no with hang5.

What I have learned is some times when you don't think your making progress. You really are. You may not notice sometimes but its those little things that add up to making everything complete. That is exactly how I learned each of those tricks. I used my brake a lot learning bw hang 5 but I progressed faster when I stopped depending on my brake so much. Once you find the balance point you can keep your leg swinging to keep you up. Your definitely on the right path. Just keep at it!

Are your bw hang 5's dialed?  I have the same problem so I'm trying to put some time into my backwards hang 5's thinking once they are as dialed as my fwd ones then it will be a lot easier/less hairy.

No not at all, that is why i freak out.  But that is really the only way I can get into a bw hang 5.  Hang 5 has never been a trick I could just step into and practice, fw or bw.

edit:  just watched iguitar's vid.  guess i could try that!

I don't really understand how do you get in to bw hang5 position without brakes?
