Just painted my ride. Here is a better representation of the color. It's a metallic black which looks... amazing. I'll take pictures outside when the sun decides to rise again.

I had painted an old bike with a similar metallic black, but then i hit it with transparent candy grape, looked friggin awesome, it looked black but when the light hit it u saw like metallic purple..pretty cool.

Yeah it was my afternoon project. The weather was nice this week so for the last couple days I had off work I rode WAY too much. I screwed up my back a bit and f*cked up my wrist. I think I put in somewhere around 20 hours worth of riding in 3 days. I was just too beat to carry on so I decided to take a break and get rid of that ugly f*cking green.

Took about 6 hours.. a whole can of that black paint and one half of the clear coat. This is the best home made paint job I've done yet and for some reason.. no runs!

haha nice idea man..I fully agree. on that one..anyone wanna make a thread stikied on painting your bike? with like a air sprayer i suppose..

Nope. Just regular old spray paint. I sanded down my frame with really high grit sandpaper (almost 400 I believe)  and cleaned it off with soap and water, let it dry completely before putting down the first coat. Usually I do a few light layers just to get the color down and go thicker as I finish off the can. I let it dry for an hour or two before starting on the clear coat and I usually put more clear on the top of the top tube, the bottom of the down tube, and more on the dropouts and rear stays so it doesn't rub off as easily.

It's pretty simple but it takes time to get done right.

CRAZY.....why would you do that with your brake?  I sat there staring at them for a second trying to see how they work....ho do they?  I'm prolly looking over something really stupid.
