the way the welds are sitting in your stem. because they have the welding realy close to the clamping bit, some steams will clamp onto the welds a little bit, may make them unstraight. byw, how wide are your bars?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I guess I actually do have to file down my stems. But for the meantime, they way they are right now shouldn't be doing any damage as long as I fix it soon, right? But the bars are around 22" with barends.

if you tighten your stem to hard it can crush the weld of your bar and mess it up for good. would't wait if I was you.

and yeah. bars look a lot wider then they are because of the slim way they are made. really like them.

I made sure not to tighten it too hard because I wasn't sure if that would be a problem. Whenever I get home I'll do it. I'm pretty sure I didn't tighten it enough to crush the welds, but if I did tighten them enough to squish them a little bit hopefully it won't be a problem. What would crushing the welds do to the bars?

You're right about the width, though. They're a bit smaller than my old ditas, but they feel pretty good. I love the design.
