I'm bummed to hear that Kerry quit riding.  He lived in Athens for a while about 10 years ago, while I was in college and we in the AthFam always considered him one of us even though he was only there for a short while.  He was fresh off of the Baco vids of the day and was the first in a long line of "famous" riders to end up in Athens for a while.  Nice guy, good rider, very soft spoken, quiet guy, but cool.  He could show up at Tate and look like he was having a bad day, then all the sudden bust out with the hardest link you've ever seen.  Definitely one of the most underrated riders ever I think.

kerry is a good guy and he just has nerve damage
to his leg which made riding difficult and any cold weather
he cant ride so basically he has to take the whole winter off.
they dont know whats wrong with his side and it is very painful
so i guess he decided to get out while he had the chance and could
still walk proper ennough.

he is also getting mariied for the second time.

I got that magazine and that frame also...

Back on the subject,
I guess Standard wasn't making any profit with flatland so they abandoned it.
The market is expanding there is so much more companys out there with competetive prices, it was a business option.

Theres BIG money to be made by people who dont want there Trails frame to weight 5.5lbs thats street frame teritory, so they have moved onto to offering like 3 or 4 different weight classified frames.

they were always a street/ramp and dirt company
so getting out of flatland is no surpise to me and they
were never a flatland company really and just sponsord
a few flatlanders.
