do statistics realy prove?
no.

it is only valid if you ride on the webz

it doesn't prove anything. it's a method of finding the " truth value. "

How are we suspoed to answer the poll of most of the people mever rode enough setups to know what they prefer?..

I think 10kg is that "even" number that should set the standard for how light a bike should be but how will I know if I like it heavier or even lighter If I've never rode one that even wieghts those 10kg?..

I ate a big piece of cheese cake. An hour later, I took a dump, and I was able to ride much longer due to the 1lb. weight loss.

I magicly have 3 completes right now.  ;D

the one I ride the most is the lightest one.
it feels good for me.   maby a tad bit squirly at times
but I like it more than any other bike ive ridden to date.
bike #1 = 18.75 pounds - was 18.07 with swisses on but = too light / did not enjoy.
bike #2 = 21 pounds - is a good solid riding bike. still good for me.  minimal useage tho.
bike #3 = 23.5 pounds - is feeling way strange comapired to my other 2  - rear tire heavy.

I use bike #1 and #2 most.   I hardly ever break out bike # 3 unless im trying something completely diffrent that I cant manage to grasp on either bike 1 or 2.

each bike rides diffrent - and carries its weight diffrently.   so having a bike
at a set weight does not realley mean anything,    ex.. =
a quamen with 76.5 head tube angle weighin in at 23lb will feel much like a
metro with 74 head tube angle weighin in at 19.75lb when doing tricks
like hang 5 - due to the way the head tube agle affects the way the rear end
of the bike picks up,   wich is compounded by leverage off how tall your bars are,
and if you are or are not using 0 or minimal offset forks / or the reach of your stem.

so many things affect the way a bike rides  /  including its weight
and where its distributed-  as a whole - I bet 90% of the flatlanding comunity
would have no problems riding a 22 pound bike.

I did not like 18.05 pounds as a complete bike.   it was soo squirly and out of control.
but simply swaping to diffrent bars and stem - I got it to 18.75
and now it feels the best out of any setup ive ridden to date,  and im happy on it.
Old dudes can still rip

where did you hear this from a magazine or website? could a link to the article be provided? from there, we can read it for ourselves to dispute the claim being made. i'm curious what percentage of flatland riders prefer flat bikes weighing in the range of 20 to 24 pounds.
