BUMMED OUT...
« on: November 12, 2008, 03:51:23 PM »
Hey Guys and Gals...

I'm feeling a little bummed out and jaded after a bad day at work, so I'm off to ride tonight to balance out the bad karma...

My question - what new trick shall I go for tonight?  Constant balance on trackstands and forkglides, and starting to get links in... Been dabbling with peg wheelies, hang fives, karl kruizers and boomerangs.  Nothing dialed, but trying... and having fun.  I just fancy something fresh to brighten my day.  Heading out at 9.00pm (UK time) tonight.

Cheers dudes!

Halflash and wash it down with a pint or two of John Smiths Extra Smooth.  That should fix you right up.

I managed some nice half lashes today earlier.
and finaly nailed a fiew flail boomerangs,  first time ever.
such a terrible feeling trick to throw.
yeilding such amazing feelings when landed.

I seriously only ever tried that trick as a joke with no intention of ever sticking it before.
today  it all just fell in place.

I know what you mean Brain, Boomerangs are lethal, but fun...

I got stuck in a rut last night, not really being able to progress, and so, felt bummed out about THAT.  Got way better on balancing starts of Hang Fives (Getting there LEE!), and attemped half-lashes, but just got peed off on not progressing.

Everything takes time... but being a perfectionist elsewhere makes it hard to accept a lack of progression in my riding.  I'm feeling like I can't even master the basics, and never know whether to blame me or my bike.

I still get stoked on riding, and certainly try to put in the hours, but it's tough...  Flat is definitely the best thing I've done on bikes - I'm hooked!

Flatland is addictive huh?  I still suck at it, big time, though.  LOL!

Hope you're feeling more cheered today, Morgan!  ;D

Cheers, Flatlanding Friend!

weird question -
do you have a un bike ?

looks like this.

just wheel, with pegs ,  fork , and handle bars.

using it is also hard at first,  but it makes you understand balance alot better.
I am riding my un bike when ever I feel like im off a bit normaly.
it usualy helps me re gain my center of gravity of my personal weight of me boddy
and to use it and arms / legs to balance better together as a unit.

Hey Brian

Nah, just my trusty old Dirtbike.  I toyed with setting up an unbike when I had some Odyssey forks knocking around a little while back.  I figured it'd be good for balance practice.  I'm going to stick with the basics of balance, and go from there.  Its just something I guess has always taken me time - balance that is.

I hope to have a more flat friendly setup next year, but I've got a good start with the old school beast!  ;D

MOr,

why dont you put your bike and credit card in a bag and hop a cheap flight to atlanta for the weekend?

Sounds like a great idea.  It would get his mind off things.
