48/32=1.5

just skip every fourth hole i think?

someone correct me if im wrong.

You can lace a 36 to a 48 by skipping every third hole... so i think it can be done.

Naw, there's no 32h 20" rims readily available in North America. :(

I have the KHE Nankai 32h shell, and pretty much need to desperately replace the rim, but I can't.  I tried through Canadian distributors, and seeked the help of the almighty Pat, but even he could not make it happen.

Since you're lacing the front wheel, you should be able to get away with radial lacing.  From personal experience, I never do radial lacing in the rear anymore (that sounds dirty), and even cross the front wheel, but radial should hold quite well.

For radial, its easy to just skip holes when you're lacing.  It'll look a little funky, but should provide adequate strength.

For 32 to 36, you'll have 4 unused spoke holes in the rim.  These should fall on the four 'corners', so 3, 6, 9, and 12 o clock if you will (so the 9th, 18th, 27th, and 36th holes in the rim).

For 32 to 48, there's 16 unused spoke holes.  You'll probably have to skip every 3rd rim hole.

I think that should probably work.  I'd probably suggest geting the 36 hole rim if there's no way to get a 32.

no offence, but why the hell would you buy a 32 in the first place?

i think its going to die out pretty quick.

The new Nankai freecoasters (street and flatland versions) both come ONLY in 32holes.
So, the 32 spokes will be making a comeback.

Besides Gusset and Proper, you can find some other rims in 32 holes,

Velocity AreoHeat: http://www.velocityusa.com/default.asp?contentID=611

Alex Rims R390 and DA22: http://www.alexrims.com/

These are Trial rims but they can probably hold up to flatland as well:
Echo Wheels: http://www.echobike.com/wheels.html

And many more Trial rims here, from Koxx and other brands:

VIZ: http://www.vizbikes.com/

And Sun doesn't make 32H 20" anymore but if you search you can find some older stock:

Alienation's web site says all their rims are available in 32 hole.

If you are for real, you probably spend enough time on your bike that there's no time left for talking sh*t on message boards.

Of course, if all you do is talk sh*t on message boards, you're probably not as good or as cool as you think you are.

Yes, there's some companies out there producing 32h rims, but for some reason, they're not readily available through the North American distributors.  I think they're easier to get a hold of in Europe maybe, but I was told through multiple Canadian distributors and even Flatfuel that I won't be able to get anything at this time.

If someone out there has had success finding one, let me know.

why not just get a new hub and build up a 36?

not like youll be saving that much weight with a 32... and way more strength with a 36...
