So im finally getting this bike together. I loved the frame as soon as a saw it, being an old school guy myself and always being partial to the Haro Master BITD. So i decided to add a little more old school flavor to this frame. Im not even finished building it, but i was so happy with how it came out, that i wanted to post pics now. Enjoy B)

hey really nice ride man! i didnt even know that they made a st martin double TT frame. im in the middle of a new school frame/mid school parts build myself and its gonna be a keeper. this st martin is one of the nicest bikes ive seen in a while. enjoy finishing the build.
-
Haha, I don't usually go for the old school but that is awesome. Those transitional graphics hold a special place in my heart. Thumbs up!
-
very nicely done lou
I always liked that white and blue haro color scheme
-
Superb job Lou!
-
So sick! Loving those graphics...
-
Now I see the need for the chrome...Absolutely cool Bro! now, get some tanwalls, your levers and some KHE Stims and your set..Get a full outdoor pic too if ya would?
-
Thanks guys!
Yea Dug me too..i restored a Haro Master a few years ago ..probably more than a few actually lol...and i did it this same color scheme. As far as i know they never made the master in these colors, just the Sport and the low end FST. So i had painstakingly recreated the decals in the black/white/blue color scheme. I had about 20 sets made and sold most of em on e-bay. Then a few months later that AKJ bikes company that made repro decals, all of a sudden started making those...im 99% sure he stole that idea from my sets lol. Anywho, I still had the file on a cd so i just tweaked it from that.
heh yea Jug..still hopin to get that left chrome lever. I actully just used the "pull" part from the chrome lever on the right lever..so its black with the chrome pull. i was actually thinking about getting the KHE stims. I loved the MKS graphites BITD. Didnt think about the tan walls, i have no idea why! ...but when its time for new tires, i think i may go with those..that would really complete the look. I'll definately post more pics once its fully together and def take some outside shots during my first session :)
I cant wait to ride it! I need to finish setting up the brakes, and the wheels need a little truing, but other than that i think its done for now.
Thanks again for the compliments guys :)

Indeed a True work of Art! You make us Old Schoolers Proud!! ;D
-
really nice!
-
Soooo nice Lou! Tbh when i first saw the ten i didnt like the bend in the dt just seemed to stick out like a sore thumb, that being said the colour change on your frame is just right to draw the eye away from the bend and I can honestly say I love your frame! Verrr nice!
-
Hey Lou, that's a lovely build you've got there! I love the old school twin top tube style, great to have a new school version, superb what you've done with the colour scheme. Hope it rides as good as it looks!?
-
Thanks Guys!
Heh yea the bent tube and no bridge on the chainstays were the only downsides for me. But with the "new look" ya dont really notice that bent downtube. Hopefully it can hold up fine without that chainstay bridge. My last quamen didnt have that and it seemed to hold up ok, so hoping this will as well.
Yea Dev, i think it will. The specs are similar to most of the new school frames ive had recently, i ususally go for 75ht and 18.5-18.9 tt and i like the shorter rears...and this pretty much fits that MO...and roilling around in the livingroom with it felt pretty good lol.
-
As the owner of an 87 Sport back in the day I gotta say, I love your nod to the OS. Beautiful ride brother.
-
hey lou
do you think the rear dropouts could be milled to 14mm?
-
Thanks Nightblood
Dan..i dunno man, there isnt much there..i think its the bare minimum amount of metal lol..if you milled it to 14mm, it may weaken it a bit too much IMO.
...and i stand corrected!

I'm still Marc-Etienne Dalgé, co-owner of BMX Groupment, St-Martin mother company.
Yes, you can mill the dropouts to 14 mm. No problem, there is enough material for that.
Thanks.

Awesome looking. Great job on that.

Man that's pretty!
-
Damn Lou.....damn.....Did you do the rim decals?
-
yes, yes i did do the rim decals. the yellow threw the whole thing off lol
-
Ok here is another upgrade..i swapped out the tires for tan walls, swapped the pedals for KHE stimulators, and swapped the all city stars grips for good ol' Ame tri's as all of those have old school vibe and thats the look i was goin for. Plus the all city grips were just too hard. All i really want now is the chrome AJ forks :)

Thanks bro!:)

I did something similar a few years back with a project bike of mine, though it was actually a newer Haro. I'm going to have to pick up one of those Ten's. I almost pulled the trigger with a Palmero years back, but the KGB quality gave me concerns.

That is awesome ancient school! Love it! I was thinking of doing that with the 92? Master..pretty much the 88but without the platforms. I also plan to restore a 87 or 88 for mostly show, but still something I would ride every now and then.
Yea I almost did the same thing with the palmero and had the same concerns. The ten seems more sturdy for sure and st Martin hasn't had quality issues I'm aware of. Can't wait for it to warmup just a little more and stop freakin raining so I can ride it. I already took her out once an really liked it .
-
The Palmero seemed like a good idea, but just looking at it made me think it would break somewhere. The TEN looks modern with a few oldschool touches, without going too crazy. LOVE the chrome too.
-
heh i know exactly what ya mean. i thought the same thing about the Palmero.
Yea i had to have the chrome, even though i painted 2/3rds of it lol.
-
Thank you for posting pics of this bike! Just looking at it makes me feel like I'm 13 again. I had a Master bitd and I loved it. Your attention to detail is amazing. Great job!!!
-
Those rim decals look real nice! Ive been talking myself out of trying to get frame with twin tt but then i see your bike and i want one! :) Would you consider making a couple more of the rim decals up if I paid you some monies? The colours would look so good on my hybrid. Very nice work anyways Lou I love it!
-
Thank you very much guys :)
Im sure i can do another set of those rim decals :)
I ordered the Chrome AJ forks from FF but they were defective with a slightly bent dropout, :( ..so Pat is sending me a new set. :)
-
Love it,im personally not a fan of double tt but this one is so nice, love the Haro master look to it :)
-
Yea i only rode Haro Masters back then, so i have a natural liking for the dtt. Definately not for everyone. Newschool frames havent had platforms for the most part, in at least a decade, and this is sort of a platform. What really is funny is how about 5 or 6 yrs ago, or whenever that was when Haro came out with that anniversary "freestlyer" which was just a repainted and stickered Mirra pro...i was like why didnt they make a modern day master? ...and i doodled something that pretty much was this frame is. less the bend in the downtube, and with a wrap around gusset like the old 87/88 masters. So naturally when i saw this..i wanted it and immediately thought m aybe i could do some retro throwback Haro Master style decals/paint for it...and there ya have it lol.
-
Wow, I love this it would look great next to my 88 master. :)
-
very nice!
-
Crazy is the word!!!!!!!! An Autum Escobar handle bar would complete this set up...
