We´ve sent Global-Flat to the gym! It got a bit wider so we got it a new outfit as well. Here it is and we hope you like it. It´s work in progress and we´re keen to hear your opinion! Please let us know what you like and what you don´t like. For now only the news page and the Forum have been updated. We´ll update the rest of the site step by step.
The forum software was updated as well. It looks a bit different now because it´s a completely new version of the software. It´s the biggest update we did so far.
We are really counting on your feedback! Please post ideas and problems in the forum or email us. It´s your community!

The new look is good, more modern, but I don't like that front page is left side heavy. I was used to having sidebar on the left.

Would like to see the front news page with articles on the right hand side (flipped to what it is at present) and links to Oates news etc on the left.

Also the for sale section is a tiny "child" board, while the market feedback is a main board? .... I think that could be switched around.

I like that on the main page the top links are much bigger. It was previously a hassle zooming in when using the phone as they were tiny. Looks great, much improved!

I'm enjoying the new look...like Jm said, a bit more user friendly when navigating by phone. It's fresh for sure.
As a mod, seems a bit better to use for our jobs too! I like that "reported posts" can be viewed from here, rather than having to check my e-mail(which I don't always get a chance to check).

Maybe that's the problem... You aren't changing your underware and they are becoming "part of you".lol.
Nothing wrong with a little change. The old GF was getting holes in it and it smelled pretty bad. Good job!

I like this design, it looks more modern ;D , the only thing I don't like is the side bar, because on most websites it's on the left.

I struggle with change a bit, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Global is far and away the best flatland forum ever (flatlanders kinda bounced from place from place since the beginning of the Internet) and this won't change that.

I gotta b honest I don't know ANY other flatland forum, I know a couple which is integrated with street but it's not dedicated and people don't have a clue what they talking about! All HAIL GLOBAL-FLAT

There was some other one too, circa 2000. All I remember from it was a lot of talk about London Bikes and Jeff DesRoche at that time. And Props Groundwork. What WAS that place?

On second thought, I appreciate the upgrade but the effort would have been better invested fixing the trick list, the parts section and the photo/vid sections. Those still seem untouched and unused becuse of their disfunction.
It's work in progress. All the sections will be updated. For technical reasons the forum had to be updated first.

That was www.byke.com/flatland (http://www.byke.com/flatland) which if memory serves me correct was called flatland online and run by a Swedish kid at the time who went by the name of flatland fro.
Oh yeah...I was aware of that one but I don't think I ever had an account.

Is there a way to size it better for 1080p monitors? The other style seemed to fill the screen better.

I like the new look. The only thing that bugs me is that I can't seem to find my contacts list (friends). Do we have to re establish our list or is Global going to add the friends from our old profiles?

love the new site. I have a idea about the feedback. Could you do it where everyones feedback shows up on the profile. So you can look up each persons feedback left by others, so if you go to someones profile it also has feedback.

Can you please help reduce the stickies, and one way could be to merge "post your bike pics" with "post your bike pics V2"...... Maybe add a child board for flatland media where you add these other stickies to etc.

Is there a way to get to our old profile format by clicking the profile button? In the pic below there is a green arrow pointing to the button I am talking about.

Martin, I'm starting to like the new design, still I haven't checked all the functions..
The one thing that I don't like is the font size on forum.
It's so frickin huge, that you have to scroll all the time. When somebody will post a huge text..gosh
The font size on the posts under the "post reply" while I'm typing is good. Anyway, maybe it's just me or good eyesight. (:

Oops, good point Jason, I thought about getting rid of that menu bar bc we have all that in the drop down menu.

Even when I go to the login drop-down tab and select the My Profile option it will take me to the profile>summery page. The profile>summery page does not have all the same options as the old profile page i.e. Photos,videos, or the friends contacts. Like I was saying in the previous post I made the only way I can get to the old profile page is to find a post in the forum that I made a post in and click on my name above my avatar in the post that I made. Please let me know if you need any other information. Thank you.

Looking good mate, but im having quite a few compatibility issues with my phone (95% of my time here is by phone!) Im running a symbian Nokia, when i go on the post reply screen i can't type? I can only post with "quick reply"

Sorry guys but I am realy disapointed from your new website. The old one was much better. This site look like in beta version , you have a lot of work to make it look nice. I don't like the title image and the big advertizing on it - it doesn't fit well. Main navigation bar also doesn't look well at all - with this big buttons and not very good look icons, pull down menus are quite big and really annoying. Another bad thing is when you go to certain pages - like spots or tricks etc - the link is going to your old website - so your new website is not so new as it seems.
I like righ handed bar - it is very confortable for me. The page now looks much more clear and there is a lot of roof for the news - I like this decision, I hope when a page 2 of the news come out "old news" the page 2 will look just as page 1 - in your previews website when click on "older news" a strange list of titles was displayes - this is not very comfortable , because sometimes I am trying to find something that I liked .. to see it again , but when it on "old news" it is very diffucult to find it.
I hope you find some useful tips in my opinion , I like the idea to update this site , but I want to make it better that the previous one.

Yea man, lots of work left. We'll keep updating the site step by step. Since yesterday the articles site has the new look. I prepared a big update for the photo section. That will be much nicer than today.
The tricks section will be updated this week, not just the look but also new content.
A few of the points you mentioned are already on my list. I'll add the others. Thanks!

There's one thing that's been bothering me ever since the forum facelift:
It's the word "New" that shows up behind the topic name in case there were new replies in it. Is it possible to make that word appear in a different font than the topic name? It gets confusing sometimes, especially in the For sale section, e.g. Parts for sale New, atc.

I am still having issues with the sites iOS delivery of content (iPad 2 iOS 5 GM)
I often find I have to reload pages numerous times simply because many of the images that are used in the websites design, load the wrong images and substitute other images from the image cache.
