^I often session at a certain park in RP...

Really? I have never ever seen another person riding flat here, except 1 time at the skatepark where a street rider was trying fork glides.. So is this park right next to a school because I only know of two parks that you could ride in and they are both next to a school.

Post by: Chris_Hansen on July 16, 2010, 06:39:06 AM
Its not really near a school.  You know the park next to the RP Canyon Preserve? There's some really nice concrete areas behind some baseball diamonds.

Ill be back in Ventura not too long from now (as soon as my work decides to let my transfer go through). A few of you know me already from a couple jams at Zuma and that highschool in orange county. I am the one Mutt refers to as "Ace Ventura" :P

I used to have an account here on global flat, but i cant remember the login details for the life of me, so I made a new account and im back :D already feels like home.

In any case, both me and my cousin dustin (milenko2121 on global-flat) will both be back in Ventura soon, and would be open to join in any jams going on in the area.

Arent the bicycle police busting you now there at the Long Beach
spot and I saw the video and it was pretty lame and I am so glad
that I do not have those type of problems and all I have is a loud
Coopers hawk mom and her babies to annoy me and I mean they
are so loud!

Pro photo shoot on monday afternoon to dusk. Here's the details:

The stage is located 50 yards behind the P.F. Changs. You may park in the public structure located off cedar and shoreline dr, however you need to validate to get free parking. I can make prior arrangements to get people validated if you can give me a name/head count before the jam. Alternative (free) parking is detailed at the bottom.

The photographer is John Tran and you can see some of his work on my 'flatland' section of my profile. His website is: http://americanlifestylephotography.com/ (http://americanlifestylephotography.com/)
(at this moment it appears down, though I was able to browse it earlier! I will edit when it is up!)

Hi Resolution versions of John's pictures of me and jamie are located here:

Terry adams was here at The Globe this last week, He gave his pair of Lotek's he was riding during 'Dreams' And signed them for me!!! SOOO exciting!

http://www.xbins.org/iriez/flatland/meandterrysig.jpg (http://www.xbins.org/iriez/flatland/meandterrysig.jpg)

You will notice the 2nd link in the first set is without the 'rockafella' filter. That is a example of a no filtered shot. He is happy to provide me with all of the media he shoots so I will store all high resolution photo's for everyone to share and edit!!

I do have a digital 1080p Camera that I can capture most of the day with, so I am happy to set it up to film everyones session! Eric Wright says he wants to pull a new manual to bike flip on film, should be exciting :)

The last time John came out it was REALLY exciting. We had a very large crowd and we were pumped!!! This section in long beach has nice pedestrian traffic, even on the weekdays (5-9pm is heavy) since it is summer! As you can see the results are fantastic and we are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to freeze frame all of you riding in one of the best environments possible (Long beach IS the 'worlds most friendly bicycle city in the world!' according to engraving on City hall ; )

I will do my best to make further arrangements/accommodations, but if everyone could let me know if they are attending it would make arrangements much easier on me. If anyone has transportation issues or general questions, you may message me on here or email me at sorntor@gmail.com. I am happy to help in ANY way possible to make sure we have the best outcome possible, so please do not dismiss coming to the event over minor transportation issues!!

For the best 'free' parking you may park on the eastern end of Seaside Way, or if the yellow parking bars are up you can park in the convention center parking lot. Message me for specific details.

See you all there! =)

OK

I WAS WATCHING THE JULY 19TH VIDEO AT THE STAGE WHERE THEY WERE
HARRASSING CHAD, ED AND ALL OF THEM RIDING THERE AND I SAW THE
WHOLE VIDEO ON YOUTUBE.COM, UNDER LONG BEACH FLATLAND RIDING
TICKET..IF ANYONE WANTS TO WATCH PURE COP HARRASSMENT!

GLAD THEY DID NOT f*ck WITH YOU AT THE JAM, AS I SAW THAT CLIP
AND THAT WAS PURE BULLSHIOOT!
Title: Re: ** So-Cal Flatland Thread **
Post by: animal1 on July 24, 2010, 08:23:38 AM
That wasn't Chad and Ed in that video, thats me and Iriez, but I'll take that as a compliment haha!  In my 6 months of riding at that spot that was the first time I had even seen cops there, so we're good in that department.
Title: Re: ** So-Cal Flatland Thread **
Post by: b_ron on July 24, 2010, 08:44:20 AM
ugh, just saw that video
what was said after sean turned off the cam?

i had to fight strangers to get off my tennis court this week, but fighting cops would've been a lot better
Title: Re: ** So-Cal Flatland Thread **
Post by: animal1 on July 24, 2010, 08:52:12 AM
Basically they gave Sean the ticket, so we realized there was no reasoning with them, so instead we just talked sh*t to there faces until they came insanely close to taking me to jail.  HAHA!  What fun.

OK MAYBE IT WAS THE OTHER VIDEO I SAW OF L BEACH.

BUT YEAH THAT WAS f*ckED AND HOPEFULLY THAT IS THE
LAST TIME THOSE FAT DONUT EATING DICKHEADS HARRASS
YOU GUYS FOR RIDING THERE!

HOW MUCH DO YOU RIDE THERE DURING THE WEEK..YOU GUYS CALL IT
THE GLOBE BECAUSE OF THAT STATUE GLOBE THING HUH!
Title: Re: ** So-Cal Flatland Thread **
Post by: animal1 on July 24, 2010, 09:09:23 AM
We ride there 3-5 hours a day.  It's called the globe because the stage is a mosaic of a globe   Some global flat haha.

yeah so that is coool place to ride!

The first time i went to an organized jam was the 2007 intrikat jam hosted by chad johnston at the tennis courts in long beach right by the performing arts center. there were like 80-100 people and several from japan and other far away places haha. it was soo sick and the turnout was amazing, but the cops told everyone to go home at like five and it sucked :( mutt was there he knows haha. yeah i guess cops in the long beach area have more fun harassing bicyclists who's sole purpose seems to be to harm the community, instead of actual criminals (which there are plenty of in that area ) sorry you guys got held up, hopefully it doesnt happen too often
Title: Re: ** So-Cal Flatland Thread **
Post by: rideflat43 on July 25, 2010, 09:49:08 AM
THE INTRIKAT JAM WAS IN A FENCED OFF AREA AND IT WAS NOT TENNIS
COURTS OR BASKETBALL COURTS...THOUGH SOME RODE THERE OUTSIDE
THE FENCED AREA, IN VOLLEYBALL COURTS AND BASKETBALL COURTS.

I WENT TO EVERY INTRIKAT JAM AND YEAH THEY WERE THE BEST AND I
REMEMBER ONE YEAR, THE POLICE CAME AND TRIED TO ARREST A FEW
OF US RIDING THERE AND WE WENT TO THE MARINA AND TRIED RIDING
THERE BUT A TROPICAL STORM HAD BLOWN IN AND WE HAVE SHOWERS,
WIND, LIGHTENING AND THEN RAINBOWS ALL IN 2 HOURS WE GOT KICKED
OUT OF THE HIGH SCHOOL..IT DID NOT WORK OUT TOO WELL AND THE JAM
WAS BASICALLY OVER BY 2PM, 3 HOURS AFTER IT HAD STARTED AND IT
WAS A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT DRIVING DOWN 6 PLUS HOURS FOR US TO
GET THERE THAT YEAR BUT THE OTHER INTRIKAT JAMS ROCKED AND I MISS
THEM ALOT....

I MEAN I REALLY MISS THEM!!

its funny how i ride more during the winter when it gets dark at five and i have school, homework, and sports. this summer i didnt really ride at all, probably did more riding in the first 2 weeks of december last year during finals than i did this whole summer. anyway. those few jams looked fun. hopefully i can make it down to some if theres any more going on. the jams all tend to be kinda last second from what i can tell, makes it hard for someone like me who lives 4+ hours away to make it down :( but when do you guys plan on having another?
Title: Re: ** So-Cal Flatland Thread **
Post by: b_ron on August 11, 2010, 09:32:01 PM
it's pretty random. i don't hear about them often, only from animal and iriez

but there should be another huge one soon. last time in long beach with terry adams was a fun day, even though i took pictures but rode at the some spot the day before

coool
maybe hold an jam at Wilson again and more and more
people will show as that has a good sized area to ride and the globe
is limited in the amount of riders able to ride there.....

someone should organize the Long beach jams again
i would come and so would OSG.
