Some basic rules:
1)I announce the first battle between 2 riders. From the moment there is a 4 day limit for those two riders to film and send the video links via PM to me! This rule is just for fairness, it's nothing if you post it in the battle thread. When both riders have sent me links- I post them in the first and the last post of their group!
2)The video can be edited or unedited, but must be maximum 50 seconds long. When the first battle series in each group are over(8 battles), then the next round adds +20 seconds. So the lenght in series are:
- First 8 battles= 50 sec
- Quarterfinals= 1 min 10sec
- Semifinals= 1 min 30 sec
- Finals= 1min 50 sec
This is the maximum of video lenght- you don't have to fill it up compulsory.
3)The run can consist of combos or just tricks, but if edited, they should be with ride ins and outs.
4)For each battle your run must be different.
5)It is forbidden to use old, filmed videos before the competition.
New rules about the video lenght.
1)A subjective point, but I can "allow" the rider to finish his combo and do the ride out if it goes just <10 seconds more.
2)So then there is a question, which combo can be longer?
- The combo which starts not later than 20 seconds before the end of the run.
3) It is hard to tell, if the run is too long, because, it can really contain small tricks in the beggining and the long one combo is pressed in the end, to gain extra time. That will be not allowed too.
For example: If you got two combos: 26 and 32 seconds long. If you put them together in that order, then you get 58 sec and the combo did start 20 sec before the end(as mentioned before), but the main rule wich corrects it all: If your run is over time limit, it is allowed only then, IF THE LONGEST COMBO IS IN THE BEGINNING!
I'll check every video and I'll be critical about the use of extra time!
4)If the video contains title(something meaningful), the video can be longer as the title lenght
5) If the rider can pull a combo for all his given time in run, my judgement on the time allowed will be subjective and slightly positive on allowing using the extra time.
So what is the solution?
- First off, if some rules are disobeyed, I'll ask to correctly repost the video(if only the 4 day period is still active). If not, the rider can be disqualified.
- There is another solution. If you don't want to repost the video, you can still proceed with the battle, but if you surpass the time limit unpermitted, then the judges will take this seriously considering voting.
6)After both rider videos are posted or the 4day period is over- the judges watch the videos and vote. They send their votes and explanations to me via PM.
7)As votes from judges are collected, the winner of the battle is announced.
8 ) The winner countinues to fight in the finals(if they are). The looser fails. (There could be some additional battles later)
9)The next battle starts after the previous battle ends.
10)One battle will happen in each class simultaneously
11)Some changes into limits or structure can occur.
12) The winners will recieve prizes
13) If you are busy, please let me know I can arrange your battles. The list of those who are busy is in the signing up thread!

Judges can send the vote to me or just post it here.
-
My vote goes to
nesquik ninja
really hard decision, nice cyclones from both. badlove has great speed, smoothieness, althought I had to give the vote for the barhop and peg wheelie
-
Sorry for the horrible camera phone video....no soundtrack, bad camera man, bad editing....ill do better next time :P
and thanks ondo!!
-
keep in mind only riding for half a year, but i didnt know u could use like different clips from diff sessions i thought i had to do like one whole ride in and ride out. but ohh well nice vid nesquik ninja  and thanks ondo

2)The video can be edited or unedited, but must be maximum 50 seconds long.
but anyway nice video!
+1 vote for nesquik ninja
-
ya didnt know :P thanks, anyways at least now ill know what to do next roundn
-
My vote goes to Nesquik Ninja. He had a greater degree of difficulty, as well as more variety with the tricks he was doing.
That being said, that little wobble fork glide thing badlove did was pretty kickin rad
-
well its hard to do stuff in a circle i needed some one to hold the cam so i could do more but i couldnt find anyone. but thanks 2flat
-
Good job guys! I was digging both of your styles... Nesquik mixed it up a bit more, so he'll take it. Badlove, you're definitely moving in the right direction! The no-handed rollback on the fork was hot...
-
I could do more, i just thought we had to do 1 whole combo for the whole time :P ohh well i kno ninja is goin to win this so, good job ninja! ^_^
-
well its hard to do stuff in a circle i needed some one to hold the cam so i could do more but i couldnt find anyone. but thanks 2flat
Don't get down on yourself one bit. I know you haven't been at this long and that you've been in and out of the beginners thread. You did good here and I hope it motivates you to completely kick nesquik's ass come the next round of battles :)
-
That was rad badlove!
These video battles are the greatest thing ever!
-
Nice bar hop Ninja. I'm scared of those. And I like that badlove's run was all one take, adds a degree of difficulty.
and probably a degree of consistency
-
great runs from both you guys!!
i give it to badlove for the continuous run.
really hard to keep it going that long at this stage of learning!
nice variety ninja!
Great job!
-
badlove is good to!
and Geezah... if you have a virus, download malwarebytes, it will fix your computer!
-
and when will the other battles of the beginners start?
-
My vote goes to nesquik ninja.
good variety, and I loved the bar hop
and BIG props to badlove, that was a lengthy smooth combo.
things are starting off great!
I am so happy these are going again!
-
ninja, i can't bar hop,i've been riding since 95, one time i set my bike up against the side of the house, and tried to jump over, foot hit the bars, and came close to busting my head on the side of the wall.,that would have sucked,i have not tried that trick eversince!
-
wow, this is awesome. look at the poll, in few hours it's got as much voters than in round 2 in 2 days!
(i hope no one is cheating for fun :D )
-
My vote goes to Nesquik ninja, slight edge in degree of difficulty, and more variety. Badlove you are super smooth though, keep it up!
-

I actually voted for badlove lol...wanted to see the results, and Im not a fan of voting for myself.
I want to battle badlove again sometime, now that he knows he can edit, it could easily go way in the other direction. Super smooth through the whole 50 sec
and now I need to get these 3-4 new tricks im working on before round 4!!
-
nesquik ninja wins badlove (5:0)

fBYOUNGl
Global-flat Beginner Battle fBYOUNGl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1Xvs6K5x4o#lq-lq2-hq-vhq-hd)
-
b_ron, your bars are amazing, and so are your hang 5s
i cant see the other vid til later, so sorry for not commenting fbyoung
-
vote goes to fBYOUNGl
the fact the video wasn't edit almost, showed smoothness. also ron made too much hang 5's, could have been only one combo.
-
Gotta give this one to b-ron, it was really close though. fBYOUNGl, that bar-hop rideout was great. Keep it going both of you guys!
-
My vote goes to B_ron
fByoungi that barhop was sick, but Hang5's are so much harder
-
fbYOUNG had a very nice controlled run, and more variety of tricks than b_ron, who did multiple hang 5's. the one handed version was high difficulty for sure. this was very close, but my vote goes to fbYOUNG. nice job guys!
-
I have to give it to FByoung. B_ron repeated too many things and he kept landing tricks off camera. I couldn't tell if he was actually riding out or not.
-
My vote goes to fbyoung
great variety, impressive bar-hop and cyclone.
b_ron had a great run too, one handed hang fives are a scary thing to learn
-Kai
-
Nice videos guys!
My vote goes to Brian.
hang5's > megaspin
-
fbYOUNGl gets my vote. Barhop, cyclone and megaspin were all very smooth and dialed.
b-ron had nice smooth hang-5 combos but they could have been combined. Other tricks looked shaky to me.
-
IT'S SO CLOSE!!!
-
my vote goes to fBYOUNGl
because of the variation.
-
meh
i thought regular, one handed, spinning hang5's were "variations"
ahh o well
till next round
-
i thought regular, one handed, spinning hang5's were "variations"
yes, they are, but you could do all of them in one hang5 to save some time!
well, in round 1 I lost my first battle, came back in the next round and took 2nd place! yeah, so ride, man, ride.
-

yeee. for sure. in fact gonna go ride with animal1 today
gonna come back next time stronger, and not with macbook pro webcam, and not Iriez in the background frustrated ^_^
-
my vote goes to fb young
not edited video with mor different tricks
-

vs
Jan@Weiden
online video battle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9716oDys3Dk#lq-lq2-hq-vhq)
-
my vote goes to Erik @ [NÖ]
no touches, good tricks, althought Jan looked really smooth and the hang nothing was good. lack of rideouts.
-
Erik for sure, if only for the fact that the other guy put a touch in his run (????).
Other than that, solid tricks with ride ins and ride outs. Sick control over the time machine and megaspins on the back porch. I swore he was gonna hit that god damn bench.
-
Erik for me. Very accomplished riding! Jan might have had it if he'd landed that fw steam and whiplash, but hard to say... Erik's time machine was so sick!
-
My vote goes to Erik @ [NO], but Jan@weiden had great control on that hang nothing, really wish you would've gotten that whiplash. Great riding from both guys!
-
jan's bike reminds me of ronny's old bike

Globalflat Online Battle (http://vimeo.com/10614691)
I disagree with the placement of this video in beginner. I understand that there's not alot of variation, but what variation there is he does VERY well. Infact, he's quite alot better than me on that backwheel (SUBSTANTIALLY better).
I understand some of you will disagree. But i refuse to even vote in the poll because of this : - / No hard feelings erik, i just think you should be placed in intermediate like the first guy was that went against raddad.
-
my vote goes to erik
but as iriez said before i really think erik shold be in intermediate class.
edit: HAHAHAHAHA the music from eric is "onra" i heard THE SAME SONG - pressed stop - startet eriks video and hear THE SAME ...that was cool
jan...love the bike color :D
really reminds me of my old good ride :)
-

Well, the line between groups is really large. I know, I was thinking about that in the first place, but I decided not to put him up.
I'm sorry, but I know some more riders, who "maybe should be intermediates" in other opinions.
Some of the riders are just giving all their best in the first run, so that's what it looks like.
One of the groups anyway must be a really big one with a big skill amplitude, it should be intermediates or experts on my point of view, but now it's something in between beginners and intermediates.
-
HOLY CRAP!
those were some bar setting runs!
after watching both runs
My vote goes to Erik @ [NÖ]
that time machine was on fire!
Jan@Weiden did some amazing stuff, hell I still don't have hang nothings, but the few touches weighed it down
HUGE props to both riders, those were great runs!
edit: Don't know what to say about the beginner/intermediate thing. I will point out that Erik's tricks were still mostly single tricks and not combos, which is one of the things we told people to use as a guideline between beginner and intermediate if I recall.

True that
I like Erik in beginner. Now I've really got to step my game up after seeing that. Inspiring!
that's the best attitude! respect!

nah man, it takes balls to enter these things and show what you're working with. use this as motivation to progress! good luck!
-
Well i just lost
hey man, don't be hard on yourself. a tip: don't repeat tricks, you can save time for something else, lie you did with the bw steamroller, the first one was small, the 2nd was good.
my vote goes to Walter
-
Haha i kind of thought i wouldnt have made it far  but im riding like crazy now and working on some awsome tricks!!
-

Olschool43 be proud, like jm said, having the guts enter is a big deal.

But if you're having serious problems, contact me.

Walter gets my vote, and does need to move up next round. He had great variety and flow. Oldschool43 You rode very well also, I think it may have been a bad break for you, cuz walter is definitely one of the better beginners. Hats off to both guys!

xXMattXx does a nice halfflash, but Hidde's barhop is very good! It is a pitty that xXmattXx puted his foot on the ground when he did a merry go round
-
I thought this was pretty close. Matt had the highspeed halflash and a more controlled steam roller, but hidde had the bar hop and overall a few more tricks. I had to watch the runs a couple of times but,
My vote goes to hidde
once again big props to both riders, that was an entertaining battle.
-

Hah, then either my POS super expensive hub was ghost pedaling or catching on the backwards roll. My vote goes to Hiide on this one....it was very close!
-
Vote goes to hidde. I think the difficulty was a tiny bit higher and while he DID step into the forwards steamroller (guys seriously come on) Matt TOUCHED on the trackstand.
I'm going to say it again, if you post a video of you falling or a touch, I will not give you my vote. It's a video, you have enough time to try and hit whatever it is you were doing again without falling.
-
well, really equal. both of guys made an awful mistake- a touch from mat and a step in from hidde. it's really no go. you can't do that stuff in battles
but anyway my vote goes to Hidde
-
I vote hidde, great job both guys keep at it.

Gotta go with Dekker on that one.
Guys, start and finish your links on frame please.
Maybe you or Ondo should include a little note next round about what judges are looking for...just to give the beginners a step in the right direction. Completed tricks in frame...suggest re-filming as much as possible until there are no touches. Little tips like that.
Just a thought...
I would give this one to Jeroen. Vieth had a really nice backwards Barhop! Keep it up guys.

Ondo you have forgotten to put a stripe through xXMattXx name
Just mentioned that
And I think Its gonna be though, you guys are very good.
Can't wait for my battle to come
Ride on guys
-
it was close, but a have to give my vote to Dekker. When things get close ride ins and ride outs really matter
-
Great runs by both guys. I really liked those bar hops by Iserlohn and his variety of front and back wheel. Those bar spin peg wheelies are harder than they look. And dekkers firehydrant to squeeker was sweet.
+1 those were really nice! Also Dekker's left hand FW Steam was pretty dope.
-
Sweet runs to both guys!!
One thing that stood out to me was the double-footed steam...it was only for a short time, but those things kill me.
I dont even have a vote

I've said it at least a few times in this thread as well as the thread in the general flatland section. It should be common sense, doing a link on camera as opposed to OFF camera will get you more points. -_-

i can do the nohanded/2 footed steamroller longer

Teach me lol
Im excited to see who I am up against next battle. Too bad I wont have my bike til the middle of next week or later...dammit
-
my vote goes to dekker
-
my vote goes to jeroen
-
Jeroen gets my vote, but I would like to say that it would've been a whole lot more difficult decision if I could've seen more rideouts/ins from Vieth. Good job, both guys.

Jeroen Dekker (SJ BMX) wins Vieth @Iserlohn (5:0)

vs
animal1

-
omfg the 2 of the beginner group favourites(in my opinion) meet in the first battle.
very hard, very hard decision. similar runs.
Hellzcat- ch steam turbine w/o kick, steam turbines w/ kick, peg turbines- awesome. a bit sketchy rideouts.
Animal- inside peg turbines, steam turbines w/o kick, ch steam turbine w/ kick- cool. smooth.
Iriez said that he saw that animal rided in the ch steam roller where he was out of the frame. no touches I take that in mind.
Hellzcat had a bit difficulty edge over animal, so my vote goes to Hellzcat
Anyway, awesome battle.
-
Similar styles, but I give Hellzcat the edge largely for the amount of tricks, the whiplash in particular. To the intermediate class with both of you next time!
-
Animal,
WOW!!!
You are sick!
Ondo said me that you are riding few months...
And I steam turbines learned 6moths !
-
wow u guys r so good -_- i wanna get as good as u r^^ keep it up
-
wow, amazing runs.
after watching several times my vote goes to hellzcat, but damn this was a close one.
-
To the intermediate class with both of you next time!
+1
Too damn good ;D
-
Animal,
WOW!!!

Ondo said me that you are riding few months...

You're not to bad yourself!
Yup, started riding flat in January.
-
Will people who get out have a chance to battle other people who get out?
Not that I am counting myself out or anything..... ^_^
-
Gotta go with Hellzcat on this one. The little bunnyhop peg wheelie, solid turbined steams, and forwards whiplash were nice.
Animal had some really good stuff too, but Hellz had a greater variety of tricks.
-
Ondo, I don't understand why you would pair what
you thought were the two best riders up in the qualifiers.
Doesn't really make it much of a battle then after that does it?
I'm not choosing anything, I just randomly draw your numbers from the list. Would be interesting later of course, but that's that.
Will people who get out have a chance to battle other people who get out?
Not that I am counting myself out or anything..... ^_^
Hmm, don't know. If we have time left, we can arrange the battles betwen others, right before the finals, so the finalists have some time to show something new.
-
really close battle this time
my vote goes to hellzcat
but animal1 is good as hellzcat too.
hardest decision on this battle
-
similar styles
Iriez said that he saw that animal rided in the ch steam roller where he was out of the frame. no touches I take that in mind.
+1
i was watching him do these
-
Awww man, what the eff! animal took less than 2 hrs to throw them links in a rush, and gets drawn against what is probably the most difficult contender!? BAH!
ondo, I say that next contest you secretly rig the contest prior so that we KNOW the two top contenders are gonna make it to finals :P (no, seriously...you should. Just dont tell us.)
Having Brazil and Argentina play each other in the qualifiers aint gonna make no fun world cup! ; )
Anyways, I do have to give the *slight* edge to hellcatz. However, when you take into consideration that *he rode into dirt* he should immediately be disqualified for cheating. We all know that dirt is a flatland performance enhancing compound and can be used to sticky up your tires for scuffing.
-
You're not to bad yourself!
Yup, started riding flat in January.
That's pretty insane. I started shortly after you but nowhere near as good.
Thanks.
I think that fact should be taken into consideration too.
Hellzcat has been riding for years I believe
Kinda a shame that I wont be in the next round.
My qualification video is no where near a reflection of my skill today.
Since then I've learned:
X-footed steam turbine to pivot to x-handed steam.
One footed whiplash to x-footed peg wheelie turbines
Barspin to timemachine to mega spin.
I don't mean to brag, I'm just telling it like it is.
-

Iriez, that is something stupid from you!
I cant do this trick in small place.
But thans ;) it was funny.
We can maybe make new topic- Iriez NEW rules.
-
Animal was smoother and had more difficult tricks.
-
Thanks.

hellzcat is riding almost for 2 years, and no, years shouldn't be taken in consideration any way!
But f*ck man, it looks like you progress super fast. You have rode street before?
Well, maybe you could film an edit to show the best you can!? Would like to see that pivot, don't understand how it looks like.

I rode dirt jumps and a bit of street, but quit about 4 years ago and then recently decided to start riding flat.
I'll be sure to make a progression video thread or whatever.
By pivot I mean a 'bar flip' but keeping the tire on the ground and rotating your foot on the peg. Learned that this morning.
-
ati66
just thought of family guy when your song just started hah
-
Ati66 gets my vote.
Guys. Seriously. It's been said a number of times now. Stop putting up videos of you touching or walking into tricks.
edit: Ati66, you have some really cool approaches to simpler tricks for a beginner. Keep doing your own thing because those little variations were rad as hell.
-
+1 vote for Ati66 ;D
-
Ati66 gets my vote.
Guys. Seriously. It's been said a number of times now. Stop putting up videos of you touching or walking into tricks.
He neither touched nor walked into the trick. I would say he stumbled abit, and damn near twisted a ankle in the process. Bloody tosser of a situation.
ati66 gets my virtual non-meaningful vote. And bruno gets a sssuuuuuuperrrrrr flamboyant pat on the buttocks.
-
And bruno gets a sssuuuuuuperrrrrr flamboyant pat on the buttocks.
LOL! you gotta lay of the stuff hah
-
my vote goes to ati66
more tricks and higher level

vote goes to ati66. really nice riding!
bruno, in battles, there should be not even a touch! But you did like 3 :D

How can one count the amount of times a flopping fish touches the ground as its fliparies ensue? Stumbling fish i say, nay!
-
thank you guys!
nice riding from my "opponent" too(Y)
I think my soundtrack is really funny, that's why I chose it:D
Always remind me:
Brian, can I see that paper for a sec?
Huh... That's odd I thought that would be big news.
Peter
You thought what would be big news?
Well there seems to be an absence of a certain ornithological piece.
A headline regarding mass awareness of a certain avion variety
Brian:
What are you talking about?
Peter
Oh, have you not heard?
It was my understanding that everyone had heard.
Brian
heard what?
Stewie
Brian, don't!
Peter
BBBBBBIRD IS...:D
:D:D
I'd like to thank you again, and I'm keeping up with my little variations:)
-
ati66 gets this one. Would've been a lot closer if not for the touches in bruno's run. Keep it up guys!
-
man, if you just didn't touch...I was blown away with how long and smooth that first combo was...
but yeah, I have to give my vote to ati66 for the higher difficulty and consistency. But I was still amazed with bruno's first trick
and ati66, great run I love the little left foot right foot hang 5 hop.
-
Dude i was one of the first knocked out?! lol
-

Wow, what great runs!
i'm in trouble. ^_^

uh, hard.

-
Have to go with verticle smile. Harder forwards rolling tricks trumps backwards hikers.
edit: not trying to downlplay backwards hiker fyi hahaha.
-
vertical smile
elbow glide to steam, i dig
-
my vote goes to Vertical Smile
-
Awesome guys!!!
i'm in trouble.
+1..
-
first off, both of those runs were off the hook...
now then, My vote goes to vertical smile
the elbow glide was super nice
Aeons of flat, sorry to say but it was the luck of the draw and you just got paired up against another really good beginner, i think your vid would win against a lot of what has already happened.
-
I voted for Vertical Smile, although both runs were really good.
Mark...sorry I didn't make the battles, couldn't find the time to film anything yet. I think you would have taken me if we were to battle. Why no Funky Chicken out of the Steam? You're holding back...I've seen your previous videos and I know what you are capable of. Overall, our tricks are similiar, but I think you have better control. I still can't link my Elbow Glide very well, or Hang-Fives for that matter.
Will we see that Rope-A-Roni next battle? That trick is STILL being a pain in my butt.
I still need to post a video...just to get something done.
-
Finally my battle edit is up! -_-
Sean looking great bud!! Really smooth style!

Hey Tod!
I'm so bummed you couldn't compete in the battles, I was hoping you were going to make it in. I understand though, work & just life in general has been very busy over here too.
If I make it to the next round I try to throw the Chicken to spastic Frontyard from the steam.
I'm not consistent riding out of the Roni's yet, believe it or not I've been having better luck linking it to a decade than just spinning the bars around and riding out. I think it has to due to how short my OG Balance frame is.
Regardless get a video up, I wanna see some street style from ya!
-
Hey thanks guys, funnily after this I had a big leap in progression and can do a bunch of forward tricks. I like your stuff Smile, bit of a generational gap between us :) how old are you. Just wondering ;D
-
they are both very good!
-
Yes they are good, but more reason to ride hard and beat their asses ;D
-
Yes they are good, but more reason to ride hard and beat their asses ;D
Hopefully you will....In intermediate. Which is where vertical smile will be going after this :P There's alot of things in there that should have been intermediate status (if even bottom-mid).
Hell, even I cant do those elbow glides and karl kruisers as smooth as him.
-
Vertical smile gets my vote, a little more control/variety. Aeons, keep it up, I really liked the one-handed stuff!
-

Thanks bud!
Yeah I'm a bit older. ^_^
I road back from '83 to about '88 and just got back into it around 6 months ago.
I should of never stopped but life is funny like that, I'm just happy I can still do this stuff!
Keep riding you have great skills!

HA!!! The end of Geezah's video is the best!
He nails the Halflash then flings his bike off on a ghost ride... only to look over at it with a look of "Awww $hit that might be an expensive crash"! ^_^
-
Thanks geezah, may I ask how old you are?
And yeah my little bro(7 years old) filmd it :P
Bet he'll never learn it but anyway thanks for your vote PZA !
-
2 more great runs!
damn this round is HOT!
-
Damn, If I knew I would compete against geezah I'd put better things in my qualification run.
Like the halflash, and I can do time machines now and 180's.
-
Looking good Geezah, you got my vote.
-
My vote goes to geezah
this was a good battle. And yeah, this time the beginners mean business.
-
Geezah
jealous of the whiplashes..
-
Shady back alley with dumpsters beats out suburban kid friendly playground in this battle... Geezah takes the win from the mean streets! Now quit riding there before you get bike jacked at gunpoint; we're all anxious to see you in the next round and we don't need to hear that drama. ;D Cdbeatmaster could've closed the gap with that last hiker, but it was a no pull, sooo...
-
Geezah, killin it w/ the halflashes and whiplashes. And switching foot peg wheelies. Really clean overall.
Cdbeatmaster, that rideoout at :30 is real slick, i dig it.
WOW there is some sickness droppin in this class!
-
This is retarded. This is a mix of intermediate riders that want an easy win. There is obvious new riders vs well rounded riders. Its a scam! I hope the new riders learn something out of it. Nothing new here just vags that want an easy win.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you've never competed in a flatland contest before...
-
This is crazy alot of these riders should have competed in intermediate class. Its not fair for alot of the others. Let this be a lesson global-flat can suck!
-

ON A LIMB. I have here online And almost won, Ultraman zoffy This is beginner its quite subjective I know but alot of these riders in this comp would have been pushed to higher classes in the other comps on here.
-
honestly i can't vote on this one, both were good gezzah had smoother tricks ,but u need to add more tricks to ur arsenal,if cd would have finished the backwards hitchiker i would have voted for u trick looks good, but not difficult if you don;t ride out, which i think is the hardest part.
-
i watched the video's again and i voted for geezah u were really smooth on ur riding ,i been riding for ever and i'm sketchy as heck, not easy for a newbie to be that smooth!

From the guy who won the first round of begginer online battles.....
........and say.......
That first you should work on your grammar. Emphasizing a point is great when it makes sense. Second, there is only 1 person that I have suggested (IMO) that might belong in intermediate. But, isnt that due course? Are note the top 1-3 contenders likely to advance to intermediate after this round?
Progression is the point. Nothing else. Hell, if they cant even give me a PAIR of tires for winning (one? lol) then yea, obviously the prizes are not the motivator. Im not talking sh*t on the gifts, just the concept. I would rather it be about progression than prizes. Send me some weed instead k thx.
-
I'm about to be 35. I rode when I was 12 through 15 or so, but I really was more into half-pipe and the way I rode back then was more hopping stuff. A LOT easier. Just started riding again February. Keep riding man!! I vote for you cuz the backwards karl is seriously harder than anything I can do, I think. Worked on it today and got no where!
Who ever makes it through though is going to have his work cut out cuz all these guys are tough!!! Good luck
I am 16 and I ride a Khe Messerschmitt(13kg).
At first I was dissapointing by seeing that you was gonna win.
But you, geezah, are a good winner and I respect you.
I am just unlucky that I had to compete against you in the first battle.

Absolutely right! My vote for Geezah, but both riders did very well.

I've also gotta go with Havok on this one. Higher difficulty.

the difference in the beginner group is huge

Agree. vote goes to Havokflat.
Renato gets style points for merry-go-round :D
the difference in the beginner group is huge
Well, yes. Sorry for that, but it's inevitable. I'm trying to make it better and better, so a lot of "beginners" will definately move to intermediates in the next round. And some intermediates to experts.

Havokflat get my vote, both guys had good variety.

great run Renato. ;D
now what the h3ll am i gonna do for next round? ^_^

havok
bringing the literal meaning to squeakers

what make is your frame havok?
08 Dragonfly Motion.
my favorite frame by far. ;D
-
my vote goes to havokflat
-
Gave it to Havok, nice burp! Was that a no-foot endo there?
Have you guys noticed your progression rate goin up since you entered the battles? Ive had a few strange "down" crap days, but otherwise i've been pretty durn focused... I got like 4 decent tricks on video today! Been writing down tricklists and getting combo ideas while shaving in the AM. Whether i get eliminated or not it almost doesn't matter! Outside pressure is kind of an interesting dynamic.

Ortho here too.

I would give my vote to old man for the different tricks
And for his big DK sprocket :D
-
old man: nice pedal squakers, good bike control! I like the oldschool tricks so much!
ortho, nice riding too!
newschool meets oldschool!
-
That was my filmbot.
no, i learned how to do that in Final Cut Pro last month because i kept either getting too far away or riding out of the frame. So now I just set the camera further back and zoom it on the edit.
-
my vote goes to ortho
but some style points to old man. those tricks were awesome!
-
another good battle, way to go you guys!
My vote goes to ortho, he crammed a lot of tricks into that 50 seconds.
Old man gets style points for not having a free coaster
-
Awesome riding guys!!!
Love the Old Man brings back some great memories!
-
I'm giving my vote to oldman, the x-foot pedal squeaker, grasshoppers, sideglide, and seat stand wheelie showed me a small edge in variety. Great runs from both guys!
-
Great runs!
it seemed very close to me.
-
diggin them side squeaks
-
diggin them side squeaks
yeah, i got to learn those from the pedals. ;D
-
VERY close, but if I am to judge based on difficulty, I believe oldman had the best link (crossfoot pedal squeaker to fire hydrant?). ortho had slightly more tricks, but the degree of difficulty was equal to what oldman threw down.
I'll take quality over quantity any day.
-
ortho wins old man (4:1)
first quarterfinal battle:
nesquik ninja
vs
fBYOUNGl
You have 4 days to send your new video via PM.
Run limit is 1min 10sec
So, the quarterfinals are on! 12 riders right now, 6 riders get further to the semi finals, then the last 3 will meet in a 3 person battle!
Remember, you can repeat your links(not single tricks), but you have to change them, at least a bit, we need something fresh. New tricks&links- even better!
Attention- the limit is 1min 10sec now.
You can send the videos in before your battle too.
Write down your group in the title and some text: "here's my quarter final video ondo" or something like that.
Awesome job everyone, hope this helps your motivation and progression!
Good luck!
-
my poll screen shows old man ahead how does the scoring work? (4.1)??
the poll is just for fun really. the score is made by the votes of the judges. their list is on the first post.
ortho won with 4 votes to 1
-
My dad is old man ;D i think he should have won that battle. He will be happy to see all the positive comments!
-

well, the poll showed that he was the best, unfortuantely judges made their decision.
definately happy.

Congrats to everyone who competed in the first round of qualifications, no matter how you did you should be proud of getting your riding up for everyone to see. There was NOBODY in these battles that couldn't push themselves to an intermediate level of riding come next round, and that's pretty rad. -_-
-
when are our next vid's due?
i have some editing left.

I honestly don't understand any question with the word "due" in it :D
you just wait for your battle, if you had your qualification battle somwhere in middle, then you'll have this one later. when I announce your battle, you still have 4 days.

Hey Ondo I feel this is where these battles can be a bit unfair for some of the riders.
Right now nesquik ninja & fBYOUNGl have only 4 days to get their videos in but the rest of the field have more time to work on their tricks & links.
My suggestion is change it so all the riders in the class have a certain amount of days to get their videos in, say like 7 to 10 days or so.
That way everybody has the same equal time to work on their next video. ;-)
Just a suggestion I don't want to in anyway step on your toes, I think you are doing an amazing job and I have tons of respect for you and the rest of the guys putting this on.

It's night here, I'm doing some f*cking school work and I'm not in the condition to think.
bu I don't see how is this unfair?
nesquik ninja & fBYOUNGl both had first battles in qualification, so they had equal time to get ready while everyone were still in qualification. if I was taking someone who had the battle first and someone who had the last qualification battle, that would be unfair, but this is alright.
anyway, everyone has equal time in his life, so riders can start to train for the next battle even before the previous has come.
please, explain, if my answer doesn't satisfy you, I'm not in this world right now.
-
Oh ok that makes perfect sence, I wasn't aware you were starting with the winners of the first qualification round and working in order through the class.
-
sounds as a really cool idea.
It looks like it won't be like that in this round, but we could experiment on the next competition.
It could be like this- qualification like in this one and then the quarterfinals go in way you describe. Because the more the people, the better. Later on we can move up to regular battle type.
Thanks a lot!

Hey y'all,
So i've been helping RadDad out with the BattleBlog the past week or so.

and just wanted to invite everybody to check it out and let you know i'm going to be responsible for updating the Beginner section and Nesquik and Jm are helping along with RadDad with the other classes. I really appreciate them pitchin in with help. If you guys spot anything i need to attend to please feel free to make suggestions or point out any brainfarts. Ondo is still the guy responsible for the guts and brains of the battle operation though, of course.
I'm so grateful for getting the chance to battle again. Rode at 8:30AM today... weird.. sluggish like a wet sponge. No footage today but got some new-new out of it. Always try to get at least a little new-new out of it!
-
Hey y'all,
So i've been helping RadDad out with the BattleBlog the past week or so.
http://global-flatbattles.blogspot.com/ (http://global-flatbattles.blogspot.com/)
and just wanted to invite everybody to check it out and let you know i'm going to be responsible for updating the Beginner section and Nesquik and Jm are helping along with RadDad with the other classes. I really appreciate them pitchin in with help.
Thank You!!!!!
-
Glad to be of use havok! I felt kinda bad that RadDad had such a heavy workload so I inquired about it.
I forgot to mention if it wasn't apparent to you guys already that the Battle blog will be a great place to show other family and friends what's going on without having to link to the Global forum pages. Just copy your battle page URL and email, facebook, or Twitter away!
-
Good idea about sharing for other non members. I added a quick and easy share button on the blog. So if you want to share your battle with friends and family you can do so pretty fast now.
Keep on Riding!!
Thanks again for all the help to make these battles the BEST EVER!!

Holy sh*t Nesquik, don't put videos up like that. seriously, it nearly blew out my speakers.
-
Based upon TJ's comment, I muted my speakers before I watched the clip... good job Nesquik. I'd imagine that stuff was tons harder to pull being underwater like that. ;D
-
Holy sh*t Nesquik, don't put videos up like that. seriously, it nearly blew out my speakers.
You can tell that I am working with limited technology....camera phone, with editer on the phone. It was windy. Can do anything about it.
And the "Ride out ride out ride out" was because he knew how much time I had left and I ddidnt. incase anyone was wondering ;D
And yes, its a bit more difficult underwater. but not impossible.
-
What happened to fBYOUNGl's video? Did he not submit in time?
-
I like that Cyclone to riding backwards, that was pretty slick!
Thanks! That was my attempt at being innovative :P
Does anyone know any good, or even decent, FREE video editing software? I can get better quality video, but have no way of editing it.
-
I just sent my video in.
I dont get it why does it say uncontested?

Yea! The 5D was used in a buncha big stuff, like a 24 ep, etc. It was brilliant video nesquik, really. How did you get the lighting to offset the color of your shirt like that on your fork glide? It was almost as if I could see *through* it into another dimension.

nesquik ninja wins fBYOUNGl(uncontested)
Exactly 4 days.
I didn't get any response for my PM and fBYOUNGl didn't warn me he needed extra time.
I've his video now, if some judges, nesquik & other riders agree, I can put it in and battle. I'm waiting for opinions, anyway, next battle continues.
-
nesquik agrees
-
Jeroen Dekker (SJ BMX) agree
-
I agree let them battle.
-
nice tricks nesquick!
and
I agree, let's battle guys!
-
Put it up ondo!!!
;D
-
So, this battle gonna happen:
nesquik ninja
his video in 2 parts:
GF battle vid (http://vimeo.com/11539497)
GF battle vid part 2 (http://vimeo.com/11539588)
vs
fBYOUNGl
Quarterfinalists: fBYOUNGl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNZdFSpNmZ0#lq-lq2-hq-vhq-hd)
Walter and Hidde- your time is still running! You have ~3 days left.
-
fBYOUNGl I like your tricks, variations, rad!
I like this battle speed, no time-wasting with waiting for the judges decisions, and then coming up with the new battle. but the judges can do their "work", because the materials are ready to fight:)(Y)
-
Nice squeaker young! You control it well enough that you should be rolling it with minimal scuffs ....practice and you'll have it in a day or two!
I think that nesquik deserves the gentleman award for allowing the video to be presented that will likely toss him out. Thats a man's move right there.
-
My vote goes to fBYOUNGl fer sher but it was good they let him still battle
-
fer real BYoung that squeaker/bw hang 5 was craaaazy long (30 sec!). I don't think i've ever seen such a honker!
--------
DIALED
--------
That foot on the seat rideout was super fresh too.
Also the scenery was lovely.
-
sh*t im out
ill do better next round. had better stuff for the next run actually, but I wont be getting that lol
-

Who knows man. You got some good skills in there despite the sound and video quality stuff haha. Battle is pretty close actually. That reminds me, where are the judgez?
-
Lol at least you aren't battling some of these other guys (rhymes with ixty-ix, hurtical, alter) ;D
-
vote goes to nesquik
-
Who knows man. You got some good skills in there despite the sound and video quality stuff haha. Battle is pretty close actually. That reminds me, where are the judgez?
I would hope my video and sound quality wouldnt be considered in the judging
Actually, I know none of the judges would consider it (not on purpose, anyway.)
-
It's more the video quality than anything. I can hardly see what you're doing it's so pixelated.
-
Very close again. My vote goes to nesquik, but I would like to compliment fbYoungl on the squeaker glide, total control. Nice job guys! Also want to add that nesquik's vids reminded me of Dorkin' one.
-
I would hope my video and sound quality wouldnt be considered in the judging
Actually, I know none of the judges would consider it (not on purpose, anyway.)
Yeah i didn't actually mean that they would consider it, it was just an unrelated comment. My main point was that the battle was probably going to be closer than you were thinking.
-
It's more the video quality than anything. I can hardly see what you're doing it's so pixelated.
Ahh, yess, that..
Luckily its all pretty basic and you can tell more the most part. Making the player smaller may help
-
Sorry guys, it's finals for me right now and ive been really busy, I'll watch these videos and send in my vote later today. ;D
-
my vote goes to nesquik ninja
-
hey! whats up Walter and Hidde?
I'm so excited, what will be figured out, I discovered that my frame is broken on 4 places!
I'm so sad...no money for new one, so I hope it will last during the battles!

thought that was very unique transition
Honestly, if I wanted to hear anything about my video, this is it lol. I was trying to do something that I hadnt seen, which isnt easy to do since I only know basic stuff. I try to put a lot of thought into what I may be able to do, based on what I can do.
That way, when I learn more advanced tricks, I can look for unique ways to transition. I like to think about riding as much as I like riding ;D
-

You have a great attitude! I think you're hooked.
I have a difficult time pre-visualizing myself doing new tricks. I hope I can still develop that skill though because i'm convinced it helps the process. Anyway making the most of what tricks you do have already by linking them in new ways and stuff is a big part of being a well-rounded rider and you can almost always tweak something new, however small, each session, which keeps me motivated for the next day's sesh.
-
After watching them both it was a hard choice. In the end I have to give to nesquik ninja, he just packed so many tricks into his video. Fbyoung did great, I just wish he used up that 10-15 seconds of riding around time to show us some moves.
-
i want to see walter vs hidde
-
Ninja gets my vote, he had much more variation in his run.

Very smooth!
Pretty soon he'll be throwing that leg over and start pedaling!

My vote to Erik @ [no] Good stuff from both, just felt that Erik showed more control and variety.
-
Yeh, Erik is better, I like his Megaspin ^_^

Yeh, Erik is better, but remember i am only 14 years old
You have some tricks coming along nicely. You did a great job!
Didn't anyone ever tell you not to play in traffic. ;D
-
vote for erik
-
the judges should send the vote per Pm to ondo.

Yeh, Erik is better, but remember i am only 14 years old
ah cmon, don't bring age to this
-
Yeh, Erik is better, but remember i am only 14 years old
Your proof that age is irrelevant.
And this isnt about who is better....although they judge on who is better lol....the big picture is encouraging progression for everyone, regardless of who is better than who.
Good job to both guys
Sorry SJBMX, there isnt a pepsi icon. haha
-
I know, i don't have to win this battle.
But i progresse everytime i ride!
-
haha thats a bonus kids learn faster dock him points for that!!
Exactly my thought.
Erik: How many times you hit that bench while spinning on your back porch? :P
-
hey guys, nice riding from both of you!
I would like to ask too, how many times have you hit the bench Erik:)
The judging made it so fast, only Ondo's vote is missing, cant wait for the next two guys battle!

What's up with your battle video HellzCat?
I hope I can make mine, but I have no bike, and my frame bent too:D AAAAA:D
-
Ohh .. I m here ^^
and yes i have video.. i will send it tomorow or todays evening..
And yes, good luck you too. ;)
-
Hey guys!
I'll fix the bike problem this weekend, and I get back into my place, where my bike is (I used to travel home at weekend, but my bike is in my apartment, where my school is), so I put it together on sunday, hopefully.
I would like to ask you guys, that make the deadline a little bit longer, only one day more.
That means I can film some tricks on monday, and in the evening I can upload it.
Please respond me that you agree or not.
Especially the judges and HellzCat.
Thanks a lot!
-
okay, the deadline is 1 day longer!
-
Thank you!

Yea sh*t happens. I had a geisha that user to bust all the time. I replaced $200 worth of studs and bearings. It's only a good hub if your spacing is perfect. Companies make adjuster/space kits for femaling that hub. Then it works good.
Flatlanfuel got a entire box of geisha 3/8ths axle stubs from khe for FREE and they sell them for like 30 bucks!!!! It's a huge rip off because khe is out of stock on the and they will normally warranty the for free!!!!
I'm running a borrowed fork n front wheel with no breaks right now cause of a misfortune. My next battle will be interesting :p
Have fun filming!
-
I just took apart my geisha and greased it and it's running awesome finally. For what you pay you really shouldn't have to take those things apart when you get them just to grease them properly.
You have to do the same thing for a nankai and the boo.
-
Man I should get in on this hub business. All I'd have to do is make a decent hub and then grease the damn thing and I'd squash the competition.
I have never had a problem with my geisha out of having to grease it oh I dunno, once ever 2-3 months which is a hell of a lot less than I can say for my nankai or others with their Boo/runkai/taska. The hub works if you actually take care of the damn thing, which most people simply don't do.

I can regrease mine in about 30min and be right back out there on my grind in no time.
-
i'm using the same ol taska that came with my militant.
haven't opened or greased it since i got it (11 months)
-
I fixed my rear wheel, now works fine.
I used a taska for 2 years! without any problem.
fortunately, I could finish my battle video, I'll upload it, and PMing it to ondo.
So the battle can begin!
wohoo!
-
these battles are great!
i pulled one of my new tricks just because of
the pressure i put on myself to do well, in these battles.
great stuff.

great to hear this! keep it up and good luck:)
just sent my battle video! I'm so excited!

Hellzcat, but jesus christ guys put some better music to your videos.
-
hey, nice run HellzCat!
the last two combos were nice!
-
seatgrab mccircle!
thanks for all man! I dont like spinning tricks so much, and I want to work on some bw hang5 to whiplash variations. Those mccircles were my older best tricks, but I still can do them:)
I hope, you progress well, you mentioned the timemachine for example.
keep it up!
sorry, you know that man:)
-
yeah atis music was painfull how the hell do thee guys get record deals!!!!? nice vid tho ;D
actually, I edited my video using South Parks Lady Gaga remix, but youtube banned it, so I used this.
I think this is not bad, my friends band plays this, but it was recorded in a garage:D

Mine would loosen on a daily basis and cause a diagonal load on the bearings. After 3 sets of bearings a axle studs (basically more than the hub costs) I gave up.
Blue 6 has a nice ti space kit that would have solved my issues had I known it existed. The reverse ache holds up really nice stock :)

err... jealous of the hang10 seatgrab hellzcat
gave up on that trick for now
everyone's music taste is different. so not everyone will like others music
i personally think mainstream music is total crap, some of the lyrics just disgust me

man the videos are good.

Hey.. vary nice run, Ati.
And 2flat2furious,
You can jujge us, but not music... we are listening what we like.. ;)
We dont say- flat, in your video had music what i hate... and so on... :)
-
Wow great riding guys!!
Hellz you're tearing it up bud!!
-
AHHH!!!, is my battle next??? Either this one of the one after. If my video doesn't have a flail-boomerang in it then I'm a huge vagina! I know I can land this thing but the last part is scaring me and I can't seem to make my body do what my mind is telling it. I don't care if I win or lose I just want to land this thing for the battle. This was one of the ultimate tricks when I was a kid lol
When you get around the front of the bike just pull your knees up and in towards the bars and watch for the pedal. You can get it!
-
i think by the next online battles hellzcat should be in the intermediate

The critique of your crappy music was a free extra super duper bonus. -_-

+1 ^^
-
thanks for the votes, and congrats HellzCat!but waiting for the other judges too:)
this video battle gave me a lots of motivation, and want to kick ass next time!:)
Geezah, I hope, you can pull the boomerang! I want to see it!
-
my vote goes to hellzcat
-
haha thanks man now I really wanna land it.. but I just got back from riding and it's like I was coming a lot closer the day before. Maybe I have to make an addendum to this that if I don't land it I'll at least include a great wipeout tagged at the end of my video ^_^ One way or another I'm going for it balls out
I wanna see it too!
Sometimes when I'm trying to learn a new trick I look beyond the trick and work on the link from it or even doubling it up.
So try and go for the "Double Boomerang" and before you know it you'll have the first one on lock down.
Just make sure you have your shin guards on. ^_^

Forget shinguards... a boomerang gone bad is more a place for a mouthguard. ;D
-
My vote for HellzCat, I really like the direction both guys are taking thier riding. Good Job!
-
when i was 5 i found out that cement and asphalt taste the same
just make sharp movements and use swing momentum of your legs, should get you past the critical points of the spins and avoid the 90 degrees part where you can flip easily
-
when i was 5 i found out that cement and asphalt taste the same
did you literally go to a parking lot and lick the floor?
-
Forget shinguards... a boomerang gone bad is more a place for a mouthguard. ;D
Ya for sure, that's what I'm afraid of most. I wear a mouthguard when I try it but still the idea of smashing my face into cold hard cement isn't appealing. I'm thinking of throwing on my old-skool Dyno helmet with attachable face guard haha. .... That would actually kinda be awesome ^_^
Haha... you should rock that helmet for your entire run! It'd net you the old-school die hards' votes for sure..

:D:D thanks for notice!:D
just an old sentence, I dont wanna change it.
I used to have a rear brake, but I have to sold it. But I still want them back!
Money matters:)

Awsome....finally! It seems like forever since that last round.
Good luck Geezah!

Ahrggg, man I came so close. I just had this feeling I could land the flail-boomerang, I was coming so close. Last one I almost had it but fell. Went to go check it out on my camera and it had run out of batteries. Man so pissed; I hate that damn camera! Landed a link I'd been wanting to do the first time I tried it but my ride-out was off camera! So I spent like the next two damn hours trying to do it again. Jeezus H. Christ the weather is brutal. I just drank about 120 oz of Gatoraid, 1 gal of water, 2 bananas, 8 granola bars, and I'm still dying of thirst.
Lol, man i feel you. Damn you camera!!!
And it's like we're in-season athletes right now or something. Ahh, I can smell the determination.
Get some, cuz VerticalSmile is no joke!
-
Good luck guys ;)
-
AHHH!!!, is my battle next??? Either this one of the one after. If my video doesn't have a flail-boomerang in it then I'm a huge vagina!
Why yes, yes you are.
Lol :) I know the feeling I was tryin this weird boom and did it least 500 times without landing it. I call myself a major vaj all the time.
-
Good luck, guys. ;D
-
hey havok how do the pairings get done does he pick em out of hat or just in order off list??
i've no idea, dude. ;D
-
haha was tryin to see who you got :P what you got lined up? that squeaker was sweeet
i hope nesquik ninja wont put us thru that shi**y audio this time my tinnitus cant take any more!!!! and you need the audio on his videos to work out what tricks the pixels on his phone are doing
Is this really necessary? If you can do better, well have at it...and let us judge you.
You're snide remarks are totally uncalled for, and there are some of us that would appreciate it if you took a more positive note in these battles.
-
Hey i have a question.
So after these next 2 battles there will be 6 riders left. The "semifinals" (i think that's the right name) will consist of 3 battles and then the finals which will be a three-way battle. Is that all correct?
If so, does anyone know how we're going to have a final ranking? Or is that not how it usually works? I think i understand how 1st-3rd place would fall, but what about the 4-24th place? Could there be a way to score the rest of the battles?.. Wait no i guess that would probably be too much trouble to try and do at this stage in the game. Any ideas though?
-
man, i got a feeling the next battle is going to be a doozy.
-
tinnitus
VS
doozy.
The next battle... ;D
Love how the Battles is bringing progression towards individual riding...N

Oh f*ck you man lol
So now I have no computer, and a new phone…still no camera. Soooo now I have sh*t video (better than before at least) and nooo way to edit...dammm
And it was wind in the last vid. Nature is my soundtrack lmao turn of ur spealkers if u don't like it.
Anyone wanna edit for me?? =)

There won't be any rankings after the 3rd place! It would take just too much time to do all battles.
We could count the judge votes..
-
Yea, I've got a idea.
Ride harder. Place higher.
Seriously, there's no reason to rank past the top 3 for 'video' battles. There's no limitation, any one of you could win if you just dedicated yourselves moreso than the next guy.
-
I'm excited to see this battle. These two guys are really pushing hard!
-
man, i got a feeling the next battle is going to be a doozy.
Man I'm doing my best. I try to give as best show as I can. Off to break a leg ;D
Geezah you have a lot to be proud about you've been killing it with progression!
Do you know how much longer we have to submit our video?

hahaha can you at least put some of those beach wind breakers up or something?! whens your birthday? get mummy to get you a camera!! god damn camera phone you could be the best rider on this site and we wouldnt know it ^_^
Mummy get me one? Not gonna happen. I did just get a new job tho. Problem is, if I have a good camera, I'm actually better than master class haha
But no joke if anyone can take a few minutes to throw some clips together let me know....I could def use it. Otherwise I'm limited to tricks that I can land consistently. I could paypal u or something if I really have to....
And good luck too geezah and smile! Use youtube, my droid won't run vimeo videos ^_^

man, i got a feeling the next battle is going to be a doozy.
its going to be a what?

ok y'all are right on the 4-24th place thing.

Yo Ondo, just to be sure, what exact day are our videos due is it the 29th or 30th? I don't know if you count the very first day we are told or not? Thanks.
hehe I count 4 days from the moment I announce the battle!
I think you can view the post, check the time and you can tell how much time you have left..

WOOH!! Geezah, that boomerang was nice! now you stood first on your pedal, i think that's is good for the trick. And you progresse hard!
-
Vertical smile won it with a higher degree of difficulty on the front wheel.
However if there was a 'progression award' geezah deserves it. That was way way way better than when he first started. Such a short period of time for the amount of progression he just showed us is incredible!!!
-
yea, that some good progression for both guys!
my vote goes to VerticalSmile for the difficulty & linked combos
Geezah that boomerang was awesome!
I always die a little inside when I see a rider riding in a time machine and landing it without a spin, hehe
-
Geezah...congrats on that boomerang!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew you would hit it. Workin' hard, you're progression is high.
I'll give this one to Vertical Smile...lookin' good Mark! I like that you dusted off that Fire-Hydrant to Decade....and the Steam/Funky/Front Yard combo! Okay...you are going to be intermediate in the next round. ;D I will wait patiently for that Rope-A-Roni.
This was a great battle...love to see everyone doing so well.
-
Vertical smile. He linked up wayyyyyy more. Fire hydrant to decade, hang 5 to steam to funky chicken...
Geezah is showing some nice progression though.
-
Geezah's boomerang ender had me cheering because of how much he was sweating that trick in his other posts... nailed it clean!
Vertical Smile takes it though... his video was more or less a showcase of every link flat riders should learn as beginners (before they even think about removing their brakes even!). Had me reminiscing about the first time I landed a lot of those combos back in the day... ;D
-
Awesome run Geezah!! Iriez is right if there was a progression award you take it hands down!
It is an honor riding against you, thanks!
You're looking really smooth, I can't believe how quick you're picking up things!
And thanks everybody else for the kind words.
PZA:
Yeah I used back brakes on that Decade. I've always felt why limit yourself by removing your back brakes? If you don't want to use them on certain tricks don't squeeze the lever.
Plus I feel most of the time you can get the bike more vertical when using your back brakes as apposed to Foot jamming a Decade.
Tod:
I'm still having trouble on the ride out on the Rop-A-Roni, I've been working so damn hard on it. Hopfully I'll get it down soon.
-
Oh and I made a You Tube video of my run, someone said they couldn't view Vimeo Videos.

this was an awesome battle.
really like the firehydrant to bw karl vertical smile
looks like you have peg wheelies on lockdown geezah.
and i usually throw my bike if i cant land something and am frustrated, not when i land something ^_^
great job guys
-
yup, same thing here.
Vertical smile gets my vote but it was a good battle.

Havok nice side squeaker!
I like Ortho's combo!

On a side note, I didn't realize that I'd actually met and spoken with ortho at fight with flight until I recognized the bike hahaha.
It's funny that your brain retained an impression of my bike for 5 months, haha possibly that damn neon. I probably didn't call myself "ortho" (purely internet thing). Can't imagine saying that in person, would feel so dorky, but i've been using it since 90's AOL days (sorry to bring up AOL) and can't seem to drop it.
Thanks for the comments! Been workin hard!
EDIT: Yeah I'm trying to work on going a little faster...
This online battle format has been so motivational and rewarding, hehe especially compared to contests, where I came home from my first thinking "WTF just happened? Do i suck?"
-
what are those bars you use havok? i like the way they are the same either way you ride!
Sequence 6th Street bars.
i highly recommend them. ;D
thanks for the kind words guys.
i learned the side squeak rideout during these battles.
congrats to Ortho!
-
ortho killed it with style to boot! Just yesterday I told animal I was going to integrate a fakie barspin into one of my links and he said do a barturn drag....precisely what u threw down :)
-
Ortho for the win... very good battle, but he spiced it up a little more and rolled some super nice steams in there. Good job guys! Beginners getting hyped!
-
...I told animal I was going to integrate a fakie barspin into one of my links and he said do a barturn drag....precisely what u threw down :)
lol, had not heard of these names, but i do like them. i s'pose i call it a slider. Man, if I found the right hill i would right enjoy an all-day slider jam. Really fun easy-to-learn trick!
-
big props to both you guys. I remember how much trouble Havok was having with squeakers awhile back, and now-dialed looking. Very smooth riding on his part and great progress. Ortho, I think you got that one man, very well done! *it was also a notably well made video; that didn't factor into who I think got it, just sayin; it looked mad clean. -_-
-

well that means a lot coming from you because your videos are great! Especially the first battle one you did with the sunset light basketball court and hopscotch angled shot. Schmoov.
I've been getting progressively more obsessive about editing. On YouTube my first videos from last year are pretty sucky.

You have 4 days!
Run limit is 1min 30sec!

Good luck guys!!!!!!!!
-
Let the Semifinal's begin! Good luck guys!!
-
Totally f**ked myself on this one!!! ^_^
Spent all my riding time since my last battle working on tricks that need front brakes. Got pretty good at em. And after much frustration trying to keep my brakes in working order, they are now off. Most likely for good.
So now I have 4 hours to progress my rolling tricks AND film!! haha
Good luck Hidde, I know Ill need it!
-
So I sill don't have a computer (thought I would by now). I have a few clips on a camera, enough to make a video. Problem is, I can't upload them to my PC for some reason, and even if I could, I can't upload anything from my PC to the internet. I need one more day if possible. If I still can't figure anything out, ill have to go make a quick unedited vid on my phone and upload it to youtube. It'll be bad since I have to work and don't have time to ride, plus none of my brakeless tricks are totally dialed, but its better than nothing
-
Do you know anyone nearby w/ a PC you could download them to? If so maybe you could xfer them to me and i could put them together for you. Are you filming w/ your phone or another kind of camera?
-

That would be awesome man. Its some HD camera I borrowed from the local street guy trying to find a pc nows.
-
one extra day then..
-
one extra day then..
So, I have about 1 minute of footage for my video....and still no way to upload. Sorry guys...sorry Hidde too. It really sucks that I filmed some decent stuff and have no way to put it up.
Good luck next round too, Hidde.
-
Crap man, that sucks! Is the video still on the camera? On a card or tape? Can you do it at Kinkos or some kind of internet cafe?
-

Its on a flip video camera....the street guys I borrowed it from were gonna upload it for me, but they don't want to now. I accidently offended them by turning down an offer to be on their BMX team....I thought it was some kind of a childish club, turns out the youngest guy on it is 18, and he competes just below pro class...their all damn good and the whole thing was legit.
So now I feel bad and don't have a way to get my damn footage on here. Its soo much better than my last one too.

Good luck Erik.
I hope the weather will be good these days, beacuse at this moment is raining outside.

hehe thanks, but my video will be very short i think :P
-
hehe thanks, but my video will be very short i think :P
I think me too ^^
-
I allowed Hidde to use the uncontested win video, sorry it turned out like another uncontested..
Wait, what the hell....
Can my last video be used then? It would have been uncontested had I not let the guy battle me. I couldnt get my video up, he obviously didnt get a new one up either. I think that would be fair enough for me to use my last one as well, am I wrong?
-

No, it was already used.
His was too. Being uncontested doesnt mean it wasnt used. The rules say you need a new video for each battle. That was his last battle video, was it not? Im out not because someone rode better, but because I didnt get a new video.
He didnt get a new video either, why isnt he out?
EDIT: dont take the last statement as I want him out, thats not it. I just dont get how the rules are bent for Hidde and not me...
-
His video wasn't used, he didn't battle.
Well, as much as I would like to see everyone competing, I don't want to change the rules in a way which doesn't make sense. I'm already going forward with the loose limits and extra possibilities.
on to the next battle! it's gonna be awesome!

His video was the ticket to the next round...had he not had one, it would have been no contest, and niether would have advanced. Without it, he would not have made it to the semi finals...therefore it was used..I just dont get this.
-
hahaha the struggle for sucess :P
Wanna give some input on the situation? Even if its against what Im saying...I would just feel better if it was discussed and not just determined in 5 seconds like it was.
-
hmm... rules are rules and kids dont adhere to enough in my opinion these days thats why they running round pissed up throwing rocks at my car n sh*t..........but there aint no law on this website i dont think and it would of been nice to see your vid&the contest.......(even if i did have to mute it ^_^ maybe you should take it on the chin nesquik and just post it when you can so we can see it anyway? ;)
Oh it will be going up for sure, I wont waste something Im proud of ^_^
Kids who throw rocks at cars...had it happen before. Run like pussies when you stop and get out.

I have a little bit of some bad news. :-(
I smashed my heel on my left foot real bad. I can hardly put any weight down on my foot without weeping like a skirt wearing little bitch. It's so swollen I can hardly get my sneaker on.
Kinda weird how it happened.
I've been practicing hang 5's at high speed trying to turbine them into a backwards Hang 5 when I spun out and planted my heel into the pavement.
I might of just bruised the bone or muscle under there, I'm having my Doc look at it tonight.
Luckly I just about completed my Semifinal video (about 20 seconds still remain).
Hope I didn't break anything....Wish me luck. :-(

Your logic is not bad, but you are missing the main point. Any video vs no video = winner. Had ondo said 'film one second of new video' he could have done a crash video and still won. Hiides understanding of the scenario was based on ondo's instruction or advice. He should not be blamed for not getting something different in as what did it matter? You had no video.
Either way you failed to make the time allotted. You could have used any pc's movie maker or macs movie software on any pc to edit and upload. If it was important enough to you, you would have made it happen....OR be more informative and ask for a delay with the promise of meeting x deadline.
In short: you failed. Next round......
-
In short: you failed. Next round......
in short, I didnt post a new video, he didnt post a new video, and he took the win....but whatever.
My video will be up in a few days. Just gave the camera to a guy who said he should be able to do it.
-
I'm not sure I'm understanding what happened here. Did hidde just submit a video he'd already used or did he submit a video of new riding but since Nesquick didn't submit a video hidde was allowed to use a previously submitted video of his riding so that he could use his new footage in the next battle? <== confused

I allowed Hidde to use the video from the uncontested win. He didn't battle anyone = he didn't use it.
I know it's a bit chaoss here, it will be more disciplined next round..

^ wasn't this basically you forfeiting the battle, Nesquik? If so, then it doesn't matter what video of Hidde went up afterwards, old or new; once you walked away, your involvement in the battle was null and void. All Hidde needs to do is come up a new video for the next round.
-

My video will be up in a few days. Just gave the camera to a guy who said he should be able to do it.
As I explained, your obviously missing the main point. You did not provide ANY video. He provided SOME video. That automatically forfeits you and awards him. I don't care if he posted a video of a naked midget running......he still entered and you failed.....COMPLETELY.
You have zero right to argue the scenario and your lack of understanding is frustrating. What you did was not just a 'loss' for you, but a loss for every single participant who was defeated in prior rounds and could have entered this round in your place since you cannot even comply with basic rules. It was also rude to Hiide who spent time and labor to meet a deadline that was not even neccessary due to your failure.
Please respect your contestants and peers more in the following contests as you clearly deserve to have lost that round....on sportsmanship alone, but definitely because you had NO VIDEO.
-
Just from what I understand Nesquicks computer totally crapped out on him mid competition. He was one of the guys that was updating the video battle blog for raddad but he had to stop because his computer crashed. This is my understanding. Not sure people know that. I don't think Nesquick meant to bail, just got unlucky with technical difficulties. Correct me if I'm wrong about that.
-
Sorry about your computer Nesquick... I was really looking forward to your next vid.

Yes. Crap happens. That's why you have the respect to post from another computer explaining what happened and asking for a.extension. In this age there are computers eevvveerrryyyywhhhheerrreee, and I don't find that excuse plausible. Bikes break, cameras get stolen, computers crash. But most have the respect to post stating what happened.
I look forward to his future video but he needs to respect the platform better.

Erik requested an extra day, because he will only have his bike later.
1 extra day for you riders!

Im going have to say thats bullsh*t. I posted saying what the problem was. I dont care about the battle anymore, but saying I didnt respect the platform and should have posted is total bullsh*t.
I posted what happened.

I apologize for Iriez.
haha ok let's cut this sh*t.

I'm sorry, perhaps I misunderstood what happened. It appears that you had posted asking for a extension, then disappeared and missed that extension, then you asked for more time AFTER the deadline?
If so the point stands valid. The concept is simple....if you are running late for work you don't call AFTER your super late to let them know your going to be late....you call before to give them appropriate notice.
You know...that thing we call 'respect'.
Ondo: apologize for what? Asking contestants to treat other contestants and the competition with respect? I'm sorry but on this one I'm not being a ass. Instead I'm pointing out what SHOULD be overtly obvious to someone who apparently doesn't understand. He can take it the wrongly if he chooses, or roll with it and not be a Dick to everyone.
If I got my timeliness wrong then yes, you may apologize for me ;)

global-flat / Round 3/ Battle 3 (http://www.vimeo.com/12516384)
vs
HellzCat
Semifinal in global-flat.com battle. (http://www.vimeo.com/12453863)
-
What happened to Erik's video? Did it upload incomplete or something?
-
Im going have to say thats bullsh*t. I posted saying what the problem was. I dont care about the battle anymore, but saying I didnt respect the platform and should have posted is total bullsh*t.
I posted what happened.
I'm sorry, perhaps I misunderstood what happened. It appears that you had posted asking for a extension, then disappeared and missed that extension, then you asked for more time AFTER the deadline?
No sir. Posted asking for one more day, then posted on the new last day to say I couldnt get my video.
You really cant lecture me on respect.....part of respect is giving the benefit of the doubt to a person when you know nothing about their situation instead of automatically assuming I was being disrespectful. I tried and failed, great. Thats not disrespect.
Sooo yeah....congrats on the win though over and intermediate. Awesome video, I remember how impressed I was when I saw you ride in the beginner....crazy fast progress.
Good luck in expert
-
Hellzcat gets my vote. Much deeper bag of tricks, and Eriks video seems startlingly incomplete...
-
Erik didn't have time to film, so that's why.
Hellzcat has my vote
-
Ou , Erik
Whata f*ck is with your vid??
-
Man, that's a bummer... it would've been a pretty good battle if Erik had a complete vid. Vote for HellzCat; very nice tricks and progression. It also always strikes me as hardcore that he is doing all of his stuff on a country road out in the middle of what looks like nowhere.
-
Ahhhh too bad Erik couldn't shoot any more video I was really looking forward to his run.
HellzCat holy crap bud you are on FIRE!!! Awesome run!!!
-
Thanks guys...
I can say thanks to Ondo for my progression... beacuse he made this battles..
All this sh*t i learned this battles time...
-
My vote to HellzCat, great progression! I loved the static-glide to hang five, Great stuff!

Man too bad. Erik your spins are awesome. You really inspired me to work on them.
Good luck next battle hellzcat, looking forward to seeing a brawl!

awesome so far..
Yes.. for begginer 1.30 is much time.. too much time..
Its a little bit hard ^^
-
If you can't learn new stuff roll some of your tricks a little longer perhaps? Seems like I remember one of the judges saying that's one thing they were looking for as beginners move into the later battles.
-
my vote goes to hellcats
-
you don't have to fill the limit
-
Good luck to everyone!
i'm excited for this next round...

whew, think i just finished my last session for this one. (panting) Time for a big half-hour nap and then editing! I'll have my vid up by Sat afternoon.

Man ortho you have really progressed!
Verticalsmile throwin it down as usual
-
both videos where great , but i will give it to vertical , it links up everything while ortho does more ''single'' tricks... also looks more smooth...
-
Rope a Roni massivo! Holy frijoles! Those elbow glides and stuff, man.... your frame be swingin all up and down that mug.
I tried not to think about how much you were gonna kill it while i was riding this week. Bravo sir! I'm still mega-happy w/ my progression regardless of the outcome and yeah i've been trick-hunting a lot and haven't really learned how to link this new stuff together yet. Looking forward to doin that these next couple weeks.
-
Very good battle, sirs! Ortho had some very good, subtle details going on during his tricks that showed he's played around with the variations of his single tricks more (switching the hands up during steams, nice barflips, one handed peg wheelie, etc.), but in the end wasn't linking different tricks up as much as Vertical. Vertical gets my vote on here; longer combos and nice, smooth links going on. Good job folks!
-
Vertical gets my vote as well. great runs both of ya
-
Verticle Smile +1
-
Nice run Ortho!
I loved the switch handed Steam, also I wasn't expecting the Hang 5 and Funky Chicken...did you just learn those? I don't think I remember seeing you having those before, I'll have to go back and check.
Great progression from ya!

Great progression from ya!
Thanks man. Yeah those are both pretty new and i'm not too dialed on either yet, but i was determined to get them in the battles.
The stuff that I wanted to land for the battles, but haven't quite made yet: halflash, flail, and cross-hand steams.

-
Fo sho! I love the battles.

Nicely done guys. Ortho, coming along great.
Vertical, thanks for that Rope-A-Roni...and that sick opposite side Elbow Glide. THAT trick. Always wanted to learn those.
You guys are very inspirational.

Hey Tod thanks!! I've been busting my ass on that Rope trick! The ride in and the balancing part hasn't been the problem, in fact that's been pretty easy for me...IT'S THE RIDE OUT!
I can't tell you how much I struggle on it and I have no idea why??
I'm glad you like the backwards Elbow glide out of the Karl, I was wondering what people thought of it, it's so fun to do!

All right....good luck everybody.
-
This should be fun to watch! Good luck guys
Theres been insane progression from everyone throughout this contest.
I'll be making a 6 months of flatland progression video soon so you guys can see
what I've been up to since the first round.
Hope we compete together in expert next round
-
Hey animal I think you and verticalsmile should switch profile pics lol
Can't wait to see you guys. \ and animal in the next round. You're progressing too fast dude, slow it down so the rest of us don't feel so bad
-
Look who's talking! You're right on my heels man! Actually since we started around the same time, I've been getting really motivated to get better by trying to stay better than you
But, I have to agree with you though, I am progressing reaaally fast. I don't mean to sound cocky, but for example, just yesterday was the first time I had even thought about trying a "rolling firehydrant" out of a steam roller.
Actually pretty much my first time trying fire hydrants at all. Anyways, a few tries in and I land it. A few more tries and I pull it into a hang five. Now today I landed this:
cross-footed steam turbine > pivot(barflip) > cross-handed steam turbine > forward steam > fire hydrant > hang five.
Flatland is awesome! ;D
-
woow woow...
My mistake in all tricks is- i Cant them combain...Beacuse i dont understand how to pump speed.. :D
-
I haven't quite figured out the "Pump" thing also Hellzcat, this is a must if we want to extend our links longer.
As soon as this battle is over that's all I'm going to be focusing on.
-

you say the ride in on that bw rope a roni is easy..... please for the love of all that is holy... share with me the zen secret to getting the ****ing front wheel up!
No matter what I try, all I succeed in doing is feeling like I am going to pull a disc in my back. I try pulling the back end under my body, I try throwing my weight over the back end, I try yanking up on the bars as hard as I can... still nothing. I get it about 30 degrees up and then fall back down.
you made it look like it was just "hmm... pull up on the bars and presto, bw rope!"
-

Lol! That was actually funny to read.
Hmmm I'm not to good at giving how too tips but I'll give it a shot.
Basically before I pull up I try to position most of my weight centered over the back wheel, or as close as I can to it.
Even still you really need to "Huck" the bike up and really push those bars away from you.
Before practicing the ride in make sure you can roll and balance the trick for quite awhile, this really helps with the ride in case you come into it slightly off balance.
I found this how too for you searching the web it might also be helpful.
http://www.bmxstunts.com/quicktime/t1htm/ropearoni.htm (http://www.bmxstunts.com/quicktime/t1htm/ropearoni.htm)
A few riders told me the ride in is the hardest part but for whatever reason I never really had that much of a problem doing it, I think it's because I was so damn focused on the ride out. lol! The ride out for me was the biggest challenge and I still struggle with it.
Good luck It's a really fun trick to learn!

Mark (Vertical)
There are about 1,000 ways to get out of forward ropes into other tricks.....if you teach me the ride-in I'll trade you a million sweet ride-outs....deal?

You mean BW Ropes.
I've been working on grabbing the pedal and trying to spin them in a tighter circle, Perry does it in this video. (4:58) perry 1.avi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bwb5Qs0I5BQ#normal)
I have also been trying an Undertaker out of it, but still no luck.
But yes it's a deal....along with helping me find new and creative ways to link the Gerator into.

wicked video!
Pretty cool huh?! And this was back in the early 90's!!

haha that's cool. And thanks  Animal's ridiculous though with those steamroller turbine things. Those are still impossible for me and my steamrollers have gotten pretty solid. Just don't see how he picked that up so fast.
Man that vid of verticalsmiles was awesome. Really havent seen much older style riding.

you guys are doing great!

That would be sick Tod!
Check this out, the other day I was working on Rope-a-roni's when I threw my leg over the top tube and coasted a backwards Deathtruck for about 6 feet. When it finally hit me what I was doing I $hit myself and ejected as quick as possible! lol!!
I think after these battles finally end I'm going to work on it, I figure hell why not...I'm not going to have any more kids. lol!
-
You guys ready? Lets do this!
I just want to say regardless of the outcome I want to thank every competitor in these battles, as far as I'm concerned you are all winners. I know that sound corny but I really feel that way.....it's not easy to lay it out for the world to see.
All of you guys no matter the skill level have been a huge inspiration for me, I never thought when I first got back into riding last October I'd ever make it this far.
Hopefully this is just the beginning for me and I can continue to progress.....I know this old body has many more years left, if I can keep it away from the ER! lol!
Good luck!!!

Great riding from everyone! See you guys in intermediate next round. Except for Vertical smile, you better be in expert by then :P

I know...I know my wife picked out the song and really wanted it for the final battle.
She's been so good to me through all this, leaving me alone to ride while she took care of my 2 boys. It's the least I could of done for her. lol!
-
I voted for Hidde, because he is the only one who signed up in the right class..
Come on guys, how the hell do you 2 think this is fair to the others?
In all fairness to Vertical Smile, it was me that convinced him to enter beginner. He was orginally signed up for intermediate...and I thought he and I had similiar skill sets...so I told him we should be in beginner.
He just progressed much faster than I had anticipated. ;D
Good job Mark! Off to intermediate with you!
-
Wouter seriously, what do you expect? We can't exactly say "oh if you can do more than track stands you're intermediate" or something like that.
-
HC and VS arent beginners. I think Vertical Smile is Flattech in beginner disguise!!! I'm just callin it like i see it.

Thanks Tod!
I feel it's kinda sad I need to defend myself but...
Originally I thought about signing up for Intermediate but after talking with Tod & Rad Dad it was suggested that beginner may be a better class for myself.
At the time these battles started I really couldn't link anything together, my best tricks at the time were Karl Cruisers, Elbow glides and Hang five to (What I call) a Windshield wiper.
During the battles I learned how to ride in and ride out of Ropearoni's, Hang 5 to Elbow glide and Steamrollers, Gerators, Karl cruisers to backwards Elbow glide, Flail Boomerangs & Fire Hydrants to Decade.
I worked tirelessly every night after work over the last few months as well as every weekend working on all this stuff. Like anything in life if you work hard and long at anything you start to get a little better at it.
Personally I've already achieved all the goals I set out for myself when I decided to get back into riding after taking the last 22 years off, I just turned 40 years old last October. lol!
This competition is not about winning for me personally, it was always about riding hard, getting in shape, progression and making a few friends along the way.
I really enjoyed riding with all of you guys and hope to enter future battles!
-
so you basically rode yourself to death until you progressed to a whole nother level. tight!!
-
so you basically rode yourself to death until you progressed to a whole nother level. tight!!
Pretty much and I fractured my left heel bone along the way. lol!
I have to wear this gay little booty for the next month or so..............but I take it off to ride a few hours each day. lol!
-
what you achieved was pretty much what the online battles is all about -_-. Nah i'd stay off of it foreal for at least 3 weeks. I'd never wanted a reappearing injury .
-
You're not to bad yourself!
I don't mean to brag, I'm just telling it like it is.
you've been riding for...6...MONTHS?!
dude i was working on my f*@king backward steamrollers still 6 months in and your doing time machines and x foot turbines and stuff?
i quit ^_^
-
Vertical, your progress is just amazing. Good luck next round! ;)
-
No surpises from me:
1 Vertical
2 Hellz
3 Hidde
*applause*
and major props to all of you, I think the beginners really stepped up the game this time.

i was still learning hang5's and halflashes at 6 months.
took off my brakes after my first two months :/
saving up to get myself some brakes at the moment. not having them hurt my learning curve a lot and i probably couldve learned a lot of stuff faster with them.

i took off my brakes a few weeks ago and i realize that i really don't like brakeless. i feel like it took away a valuable tool. TJ was right :P haha
yeah i think also riding a 34 lb. haro street bike (20.5TT with a cassette hub) didn't help.

Great job everybody! Cheeers to my beginner class mates!

-
Dammit! I'm super stoked on this battle and wrote out a long analysis, but something must've timed out and I lost it... anyhow, in summary, personally liked HellzCat the most of the group, but vote goes to VerticalSmile and his slick Karl Rothe'ish stylings, followed by Hellz, and Hidde rounding it out with the pimp barhop variations. You guys ruled it, congrats!
Wouter, give yourself more credit, and remember that you can either quit or bust harder if the skill levels of other riders is bothering you that much. These guys were definitely beginner class, and a damn good one.

VerticalSmile 1st place

yep I wanna say thanks to everybody who voted, who watched and of course the judges. And special thanks to Ondo !
It was really motivating me.

I don't mean to brag, I'm just telling it like it is.
you've been riding for...6...MONTHS?!
dude i was working on my f*@king backward steamrollers still 6 months in and your doing time machines and x foot turbines and stuff?
i quit ^_^
Uh no :P actually I was doing that at about 3.5 months. My 6th month anniversary was 5 days ago and I'm on some next level sh*t now. I need to post a video. Thanks for the compliment.
Congrats to the winners. Enjoy your prizes and bragging rights guys!
