This trick baffles the hell out of me . I can one-hand hang 10. I go for the grab and it's epic FAIL. Any pointers would be appreciated. -_-
whats a messiah, and september through december ..im all over that . ill even hit up some front wheel this year( I have to for jomopro)

Looks great Clint...Looks like you have it on lock. This trick has always seemed to be by far the most popular Trick of the Month ever...I am surprised there has been so few post. I know not everyone has learned this trick. Lets see your progression and what your doing with your hang 5.
Waiting for a dry day here...constant rain...every day..ugghh!
Keep on Riding!
i can never figure out why i cant do a hang 5. i just feel like my seat is behind my knees and not behind by ass. is it possible toptube length could affect this? and i always feel like the rolling position is too steep, but it would be too inconvienient for all my other tricks to move my seat up
This was my first attempt at the Hang-5. I threw in an extra little combo I call the "Jaw Breaker" for your added entertainment.

NICE! Damn, you got me thinking this is possible. I like the idea of practicing against a wall; I'm going to be doing a lot of that. So far this is the most informative 'How-To Hang 5' that I've seen. Thanks!
i don't mean to be that guy, but that's not a messiah. sitting on the seat no-handed is a messiah. just sayin

No, he's not talking about the seat in front of your crotch. Ass on the seat,no hand is a real messiah. Like the way wolfgang use to do it.
Um, if your sitting on the seat no handed, how exactly are you keeping the back end up?
I'm missing something..

Well I got it started...we almost a week in and no replies, comments or otherwise. Moved down to page 2. Where are all the Trick of the Month riders?
I did my Round 3 battle and did Trick of the Month...and getting ready for JoMoPro ;D
ooo yeah and I help build a new site as well

cant do em yet :/
I literally have no idea how to do karls.
I mean I know you hold the seat and go but it's like I get some sort of weird left brain/right brain disconnect the moment I grab the seat.
Oh well. Dominik Nekolny can't do mccircles, so that makes me feel better about myself.
Sweet ;D

Looking real good, Geezah. I just realized after watching your clip that I never tried a one handed steam ride in; not sure why it never occurred to me to. haha.. gotta give that a go next session.
Thanks, it's actually pretty easy. I want to try a no handed ride in!!! I better make sure my dental insurance is up to date first though ;D

I have been working on opposite whip so I could link to karl never really thought about hitch. That would be sweet.
why wont that video play for me never had that b4
Just now started to really get down the double footed fwd. steamroller. Popping up to the half-hiker feels so sketchy (btw I'm just going to work on the half-hiker for now). I'll keep at it though and hopefully by the end of the month I'll have some improvement to show. Pretty fun trick to mess with.Shouldn't you hold the tire? (I'm not sure tho).

Oh ya I had a question, how are you supposed to hold the seat for the half-hiker? Do you just let it hang to your side or are you bringing it up a bit? Hope that makes sense.

haha its loading ok now great vid! whats that place behind you you ride at factory or somethin?
hey dad you're rad! how long you been riding?
I LANDED MY FIRST HIKER LAST NIGHT!!!! totally trying to catch one on vid now before the trick of the month is up. thanks for all the inspiring videos people!
Interesting. It also usually helps me to leave some gaps between sessions :)I LANDED MY FIRST HIKER LAST NIGHT!!!! totally trying to catch one on vid now before the trick of the month is up. thanks for all the inspiring videos people!
AWESOME! Wanna see wanna see!
I did a couple of okay fwd halfhikers saturday, but without the rideout. Decided to take two days off cuz I seem to improve sometimes when I do that, strangely. Plus sat I started doing some hang 5's for about 10ft. Pretty stoked on that since I put off practicing them for so long. They're just boring to practice when you can't even go a foot.
Can't wait till the end of the month to show some improvement on my hikers
I'm waiting for you to say killa without a h :P
what happpened to lot lizards camera he sent you?
f*ck me he must of sent it by boat!
Hang 5 got a lot better also, rode one about 50 ft and one I rode a complete 360 ;D

Feels good huh... Respect on the halfhiker, i ate serious dirt trying them today! Not happening and no cam yet to film with
Fooled around with getting into this trick for a while last night. It was very frustrating. ;D
How were you riding in?
I got inot a halfhiker last nite for the first time... Shane's video gave me motivation to try it, even tho i have a killah cold at the moment!!! Will ty to get a mate to film it, as you all know my camera got stolen and im still waiting on a new one...
My next question is how long can you hold that position in parking spaces....1 - 10. One thing I have learned from Adam is to break the trick down into parts and make your transition after you have compleate that part. He always tells me. Control-Switch-Control-Switch. I have become a firm believer in getting steady before making the change to another position. I think it has been key to where I have made it to so far.
Rad Dad
I can stay in the double footed steam position for quite a while. Long enough for me to wait until I'm ready to try to pivot the frame around. If I'm not steady I don't even try because there's no point in just hucking myself into the next position all out of balance.
I prefer the double footed steam but I feel best from Karl.
That is exactly what I was just about to say 5hane - thats how I learned as well. I am one of those slow learners too. It takes awhile but you just got to keep hitting it and it will eventually all fall into place.
good sh*t flip it looks hot there :P
Yeah Shane... Good to see the progression video's again, soon as i get a new cam im gonna be here!
Diary of a Hitchhiker Juggler Part 1 (http://www.vimeo.com/12721703)
Here I am back a few hours latter. Its so HOT right now in Texas I could only ride for a good hour. The sun is zapping my energy. Here was my best attempt at a Hichhiker Juggler. I am going to put more effort into this.
Keep on Riding!
I have the sort of the same issue with Crackpackers. I was doing great then all of a sudden I hit a wall on learning them. I have learned like 15 other things since I started learning crackpackers but that's how it goes I guess. Crackpackers are my Kryptonite. Just keep hanging in there eventually it will happen.
Keep on Riding!
how long did it take you to learn hitchhikers, raddad? i've spent the better part of a year on forward steamrollers and it'd be nice to not have to spend another year learning another trick
Finally got some decent halfhikers on tape. And I started messing with hitchhikers today.

Nice man I like how you do that. I bet you'll have it down by the end of the month.
I haven't been able to work on this much because it's been raining and my tires are too slick. Hopefully I'll get some dry weather soon.
Hey -B Ron, I tried to get some more how-to's compleated before the month ended. But looks like we are in a new month already. I will try and get another how to made for it to try and help out.sweet. thanks rad dad
Okay, I'm really stoked for this because a month ago I tried to learn the Cliffhanger and ended up with a busted groin :D I can do Hang 5's all the way, but Cliffhanger ... not so much :Dbut yet you still have a person doing a cliffhanger as your avatar.... who looks like he should bail
5hane- I had the same exact problem. I have the solution for you. You have to learn how to glide with both feets and hands on the bars
ah, i can get to where you are.
i can get my other foot on the peg but letting go is just tough. out of the many times i got to that point, i only had the balls to let go of my bars 3 times. fell forward every time.
I decided the smart thing to do was put in a lot of time on my Hang 10's and that led me to one-handed hang 10's and then I got the idea that maybe I should work on Hang 10 seat-grabs, another trick I've really wanted to learn. I put a lot of time into that instead. So even though I didn't work much on Cliffhangers they did inspire me to work on something else I've been wanting to learn.

your hang 5s are supa legit!! you're a quick learner, man.
i was wondering this myself, would messiah's be a good stepping stone to cliffhangers? or are the two so different that neither one is really useful for learning the other?
John Yull made me think I could learn how to do them...I am TERRIFIED right now. Its going to take some getting used to. I am going to try though since it is.....Trick of the Month. I always try the tricks even when I can't do them....Its all about the journey....hey Mark. ever try letting go of the brake while your at the highest point. or using less and less breaking power to get yourself ready for the brakeless decade

I've pulled a couple in my ventures, but currently I'm riding with a back brake. I just want to know, out of those who can do it, do you inadvertently hop the bike off the ground when you do them? I have a tendency to have the back wheel actually come off the ground when I try them brakeless. Weird.

Trick of the Month October 2010 Mega Spin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5_HUCpZM5U#)
Here is where I am as of right now. Hopeing to start rolling backwards this month.
Now its megaspin again? wtf. ?
I dont understand this. why not perfect your hang 10 seat grab first. spend another month or two on it. learn it to halfpacker etc.
sorry bud, dont mean to be rude. but i dont undestand this concept of just because its the first of october you have to start a new trick. and hang 10 seatgrab is not even similar to megaspins at all? i mean if you triued learning pumping two footed steams or halfpakcers or wheelchairs or carving halfhikers. somewhat of a similar position. i would understand. but this is just random and wierd. well anyways . bets of luck to you.
Here is an update. Did a few better ones but my cam was full.Try keeping the front end a little lower and wait a little bit before you scuff the tire because you end up rolling backwards instead of spinning backwards it seems. Keep it up!! -_-

if u got the spin dialed then just simplely swich hand back to how you would hold ur bike in the peg wheelie position and let it dropeasier said than done, although it takes me a long time to land tricks in general....

nice work!
I remember last year when it was Time Machine. I still can't do that one either. I will eventually get around to posting my attempts of trying the lung spin. Its getting better thats for sure. I have been trying them every riding session I have. Its almost time to create a new list for the year. I have always kept it Intermediate to beginner level so that everyone can participate. When ever the tricks are too hard that leaves out too many riders. So if you have any suggestions for next year. Throw them out now so I can consider them for next year. The Number one most asked about trick is a Hang 5 so that is a given.

A few years back I did link of the month along with trick of the month. I never got any participation so I dropped it. I am all up for link of the month but I there has to be people that want to participate. I will see if I can't find that old video for link of the month.
Thanks for all the input. Keep those ideas cranking!!
hey mark how about to include switch of the month next year??? so it will help even more ppl and we still will have the ''basics'' in the totm as well... just a thing that popped on my head..

I can carve them pretty nice now but once i get it going backwards I freak out
Right on!! How long can you roll them backwards? You can do them backwards with out your brake but it takes a lot to control it at first. After I picked up hang 5 the steamroller just followed suit.
Are your bw hang 5's dialed? I have the same problem so I'm trying to put some time into my backwards hang 5's thinking once they are as dialed as my fwd ones then it will be a lot easier/less hairy.

Backwards Hang 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5o0QaNfblw#)
Hey IGuitar,
I think you have the idea now but I shot this for you today. I didn't have much time so I wasn't able to do a very controlled Backwards hang 5. But you get the idea of starting it with no brakes. I didn't use my brakes at all. I am used to hitting my brake to ride out but I was able to get one on film. Hope this can help you and maybe someone else out there.
Keep on Riding!
I find backwards hang 5's pretty easy too, start them out as a squeaker without using your brake and find that balance point by focusing on your tire and just holding it, feels much easier than a forwards version where it constantly feels like you're falling forward, or at least that how it feels to me.
[/quot
Matelot, i learned backwards hang 5s so much faster, because like matelot said forwards makes you feel like your falling forward. even thought your doing the same thing on both (leaning over the bars) it feels safer when your rolling backwards, and when i mastered the backwards hang 5 it made the forward one easy.
Guys, my little vid :P
should i stop practicing 3 or 4 tricks and just practice one trick
for the whole session? i seem to progress slow.
Is this trick harder when being tiny?
5hane, you didn't explaine where the balloons are for, or is it me?
My first week learning hang5s I got so tired of hesitating and not popping it up high enough that I decided I would just throw myself over the bars on purpose and get it out of the way. I ended up spraining my wrists and being off my bike for a week or two. I wish I had known about the ballon method then!!!!!! :P :beer:Rad Dad has a 'how-to fall correctly' vid for hang 5's
Is there a list for all of the tricks for this year, like there was last year?
I was wanting to film a few things for this but my computer broke. Today I finally started scuffing bwd hang 5's into fwd hang 5's, which was something I really wanted to film :(

I was waiting to hear back from a few people I had contacted earlier and I have not had any confirmations. I will send out another message I will have a list by February. I am working at trying to keep Trick of the Month Growing and keep it fun for everyone.

I dunno why but I have a bad habbit of not dumping the bike when I fall forward. I automaticaly stick my leg out to catch myself while still hanging onto the bars. 9 out of 10 times its works but every once in awhile I get tangled up and eat sh*t hard.

What will be the next trick of the month?
Thanks for putting some beginner stuff in it ! I think I'll be doing cliffhangers and Time Machines in a week!
The trick of the month is not designed for a rider to learn a new trick every month. Is is possible? Yes!! 5hane learned Hitchhikers when it was on Trick of the Month.
When ever you have a few people trying the same trick it creates motivation and creativity. There are more than enough people here that if you want to learn a Cliffhanger or Time Machine we can help you reach your goals. For me personally I learned cliffhanger in about 10 days. Crackpakers 3 years in the making. Everything is different for each person. Approach it with a can do attitude. Even if you don't reach your goal at least you know that you gave it 100% effort. That is all anyone can ever ask of you.
Most importantly its designed to get you out side to work on riding your bike. For me personally I don't ride on my back wheel. Every other month there is a back wheel trick that I can't do right now. That means every other month I can pursue some tricks that I can't do yet. Since there is a list I know how much time I have to learn that trick. Even if I don't hit that trick that month. I know that I have made progress and I will keep working on that trick until I get it. It is a Journey that I am taking and it will take more than a month to reach it. Its going to take a life time. I am glad you decided to take this journey with me deep into the world of Flatland.
Keep on Riding!

What is your consideration of 'beginner' ?

What is your consideration of 'beginner' ?
Quick question for you. What tricks are you able to complete right now? What are you currently working on?
I have been putting together trick of the month since 2004. I have tried many different things over the years. If the tricks are too easy IE(Endo's, Forkglides) there is not much participation. There were a few months that I tried link of the month. Very little participation again. When the tricks are right in the middle. (IE Timemachine, Hang 5, Whiplash) there is a lot of participation. I try to make if fun for everyone. I have seen some riders do some of these tricks in there first year of riding. From the list as far as just starting out first month ever of riding. No I would not suggest any of these tricks for that level of riding. But if you have had a few month into riding Turbine Peg Wheelie- Next month hosted by Team McDuff. Its a great starting trick. I know I CAN'T DO IT..hahah I am going to have fun trying to learn it though. Also Whiplash is pretty basic by today's standards too. I have seen that in beginners contest many times. Single whip that is.
List is up now but I can take suggestions for next year if you would like to make any. I always take suggestion, ask MaykoLee!!

You're right, I should stop whining, seriously. I just hate it that there's so many factors that that cause that I progress sooo slow (bumpy spot, i'm only 1m50, don't have much time..).

Keep on Riding!
You're right, I should stop whining, seriously. I just hate it that there's so many factors that that cause that I progress sooo slow (bumpy spot, i'm only 1m50, don't have much time..).
Is there any trick on the list that you would like to learn? I am more than happy to help you along the way with the tricks that I can currently do. Backwheel for me would be blind leading the blind but hey its just fun to get out there and try.
Here is the list for 2011
January- Hang 5
February – Turbine Peg Wheelie Sponsored By Team Mc Duff
March – Cliffhanger
April – Stick B
May- G-turn sponsored by Scott Powell
June- Dump Truck
July- Hitchhiker Juggler
August-Time Machine sponsored by Matt Wilhelm
September- Crackpacker
October-Lung Spin
November- Whiplash
December-Death Truck
Thanks MaykoLee for your feed back. Its now set up with front wheel 1 month and backwheel the next month.

This G-Turn is the original G-Turn from the pedals. Its a 180 on your front wheel and you keep rolling on your front wheel backwards.Woah! that's a nice one!

Tips for turbine peg wheelies for very small riders? I'm only 1m50 (4.9') and my TT is 19' so it's very hard for me to get the spin going, while bigger street riders at the local skate park get one full spin easily..
ehhhh... this is the trick i was doing when i broke my rib on sunday... lol
^_^ ^_^ where do i get rib guards?ehhhh... this is the trick i was doing when i broke my rib on sunday... lol
Well thats inspiring.
That was very cool Maykolee. I loved the one handed variation!!zerox!
Man, that was spinning and not turbinning, I think :huh:It does say at the bottom of the video, that I need to keep working on them ...
How to fall with cliffhangers? ^_^Im going to up the ante, and post a "how NOT to do cliffhangers" vid.
How to fall with cliffhangers? ^_^
I really want to learn how to get in and out using Karl. Moya told me once my Karl is Perfect I will not have a problem. SO I am working on Karl to get it 1000% hahaha
Keep on Riding!
Hiroya Morizaki FTW....WOW that was crazy cool! I was thinking the past couple of days of different things to add to Trick of the Month. Nothing is worked out but I am just thinking out loud. Having a vote by week 3 on winners posted on the last week for such things asI think that is a good idea, not just do the trick of the month. WOrk on him and do the most things u can. Today has been the first riding day in march i dont learn a new variation of cliffhanger, but learn 2 diferent tricks as well hahhaha
1 Most Variations of TOTM
2 Most Difficult Ride In
3 Longest link of tricks that includes TOTM
4 Most importantly list the people that learned TOTM that MONTH!
Just another way to help motivate and inspire others out there.
Just thinking out loud.

Making lyrics is easy as rolling a cliff
Open up your mind and don't be too stiff
You can do it go ahead you got mad flow
Any time your ready you have clearance to go!
BOOM!!!
Her my video.
Any tips?
If I do the trick then I always fall backwards, how can I hold my balance?

Any tips?
If I do the trick then I always fall backwards, how can I hold my balance?
i got a tip for you. i was having the exact same problem
-quit falling backwards and force yourself to start bailing forwards by hopping over the bars. you're not even trying to roll a cliff, just trying to get confident at bailing forwards. *your bike might take a bit of a beating here.
-then when you feel comfortable doing that, got your confidence that those bars aren't going to mess you up if you bail forwards, start working your balance backwards bit by bit until you hit the sweet spot and start rolling them.
worked for me. you can definitely do these, i see you rolling it enough. they're scary at first but easy once you get the hang of how to bail forwards and backwards they're not scary at all.
Thanks for the tip! I will make a new video of how I am doing them at the moment.
Rad Dad- Trick of the Month Cliffhanger - Part 2 (http://vimeo.com/21049392)Mark, you are doing so awesome at taking all the individual tricks you have been learning and just stringing them all together. It takes alot of control to do that and your links are looking very smooth. Keep it up.
I am so stoked about today's riding. I was working on Cliffhanger today and I hit 2 new things. I finally figured out how to get back to Hang 5 from Cliffhanger. That has boggled my mind for some time. I think I have have been doing so many Cliffhangers this month I have become very stable while in it. I am VERY excited about this!
Keep on Riding!
This afternoon I was able to ride it like 8 metres 3 or 4 times! This evening I landed 5 very scatchy and I didn't rode them long. But I landed it. :ph34r:WOW Great News!! The best news of the day!!

Dump truck is more or less the rolling ride-in that most people use to get into a Stick B. Stick B(itch) is pretty much the scuffing part of the trick (or, in the case of a spinning Stick B, a reference to the Stick B - like position the bike is in during the spin).
I have always referred to a double footed gliding bike behind you as a dump truck. At the same time I heard that called fudge packer. So many names out there. There should be an Official book. That's all that is needed and everyone would refer to that book. Circuit Approved Tricks aka CAT For all those flat cats!

OMG! WHAT THE!?!?
How do u sit on the pedal without it moving?
Just INSANE!!!
Few days ago I picked back up riding after alittle bit more than 2 year break after back surgery. And I found this thread and noticed that this months trick is Stick-B. I remember trying ir a few times a logg time ago with no luck, and decided to give it a try. I was surprised that only after frew attempts I managed to get into Stick-B position brakeless. I didn't hold into it for long and after few seconds found my self on the groud smiling like a little kid. I was full of joy and accomplishemnt.
Once the constant raining stops i'll continue to work on it and when i dial it in I'll shoot a photo or video and post it here.
Thanks TotM!

I think rolling that trick is way HARDER than spinning but have seen videos of Joris and Ikeda spinning it. That trick looks so manly hahawhich trick?

Wow...no participation on the G-Turn front?!
Gonna get back on the bike today for the 1st time in a long time.
If it goes well,...might submit a late G-Turn entry in a few days for the hell of it.
This was the one trick of the month i really got excited about cuz its such a rad trick.
Hard to believe just one vid....btw nice how-to Scott!
I'm so stoked. I go out to learn the dumptruck expecting it to take weeks of progression and hey I hit it in two days. Of course I do them differently and I have no cranks (coming "soon") but still damn! It's really just a mental trick. If you guys want a tutorial let me know.

Here is the last trick of the Month. Thanks Chris and Daniel and Paul for helping get this together.
Keep on Riding!
Good work Mark... Somehow i got this going again, plenty of interest... Looking forward to getting involved, light evenings are on there way back to the UK so i can make sum vids...Yes you did! Thank you very much. I thought there was no interest anymore. I had even emailed Martin to have him remove the sticky. I am glad said something to spark interest again. I am looking at things now trying to get it together for the morning.
Just noticed something. I'm only trying reverse steamrollers. Are they any harder than forwards ones? I think I don't try forwards ones because I can't halflash. Most videos here seem to be predominantly forward steams.
Trolley? I thought that was a "Puppet", no...?
Different strokes for different folks, perhaps?
101 Trix and magazines taught me it was a puppet.
Either way, U dont see many people doin those anymore(even tho its still a rad trick), so it should be fun to see the outcome. =)

I have never really spent much time with my opposite foot. Next time I ride I will give it a go and see how it turns out. I don't think there is a wrong or right way. There are some positions that are more natural than others but its no wrong just different. I am still on my quest for switch hand steamrollers.
Mate, your You Tube links were not right... I fixed them for you...
Looking good dude, got the kick and ride in down.. And the third vid the ride out was butter smooth
Thats what its all about! Way to go Keneken!
Howz that video coming along melon?
Can I still post a video of it? ;D
Sorry for the slow response... Good work melon, that spot looks cool (Like a mini TGM!) You got the ride out i see, coming along nicely. I've noticed that my ridouts are very different to everyone elses. I kinda pull the frame round like im gonna karl cruiser and just hop back on. I have to be honest i can smootie but i get them wrong more often than not and find my rideout a safer option! A cop out if you will (i hate it when it tips forward and the heart jumps in your mouth feeling) Anyone else get that feeling... lol
Nice Mellon!
You have one black arm! I didn't think mixed race worked like that.
Boo my health, boooo!
I dug this one up for you.
Yay! Managed a half hour session today. Took my girlfriend with me in case of blackouts.
Managed one full circle doing a reverse steamroller before looping out and loosing the bike.
I'm feeling very pleased that I have progressed by not riding for a couple of weeks.
I still can't get my head round forwards steams but who cares! Just so pleased to be on my bike.
Looking good guys... Melon you got sum serious spoke twang going on there... Need to nip them spokes me thinks... One week to go till TGM, looking forward to linking up!
Do believe tommorow is the start of lung spin.
This could be a challenge for those going to the TGM jam... See who lands it first or basically motivate each other to land one! Sound like a plan??? Melon?
A little off topic: If there is a place to suggest trick for next month i would like to suggest! let me know please.
-my goal to do this trick before end of april>!
Okay I have complied a list for the rest of the year. Big Props to KHE Killah for breathing life back to trick of the month.
March - Steam Roller
April- Lung Spin
May- Backwards Cliffhanger
June- Stick B
July- Crackpacker - Moya
August- Lard Yard
September- Hitchhiker
October- Mega Spin
November- Endo
December- Trolley
I took as many suggestions as I could and complied this list from the suggested tricks. So there ya go! Lets go out and do some steamrollers for the month of March!
I have always tried to keep the list from novice to mid expert level throwing in a mix of front and back wheel with old and new tricks so there is a little something for everyone through the year. I tried link of the month but that just didn't pan out too well. When tricks become too hard there isn't enough interest to get many people trying them or showing they can do it. In December we will make a new list for 2013. I am sure we will use some of the old favorites and add in some of the suggestions.Okay I have complied a list for the rest of the year. Big Props to KHE Killah for breathing life back to trick of the month.

X2 what you got in mind???
When changing hands Keep your body in the same place in the upright position, don't lean forward to grab the bars. Bring the bars close to your body for the change. Me and Melon were working on these up the mile yesterday and making great progress. I will get a video in before the month is done....
maybe a couple months? not sure to be honest, but not super long. when you hit the sweet spot, you'll know, and it will improve very fast then
I really like the idea of Trick of the Month, but the tricks seem to be extremly hard for a beginner(Lung Spin, Backwards Cliffhanger(!?!), Hitchhiker).
I'm looking forward to try posting a video for the Megaspin in October ;) .
Maybe you could make a BTOTM(Beginner Trick ...) thread?
Nice Video's by the way

I agree...
What we can do is generate a second list for the rest of the year. There is no reason there can't be 2 tricks of the month. We have done that before as well. So lets start out with May with a different list. Through out some tricks. I think HANG 5 is a great start!
Sweet, hang 5 it is... I did a how-to for hang 5...
Sweet, hang 5 it is... I did a how-to for hang 5...
When I get my new bars im gonna try forward cliffhangers.... I've got hang 5 well and truly down, so cliffhangers. Think are start with forward 1st, i hate doing tricks backwards especially when learning them.
If it stops raining I will give them a go. Killah's video is really good!
Hey melon,
How did you stop rotating around backwards in your lungspin? I was working on this and only managed to not rotate around one time and I have no Idea what I did to do that. I also cant seem to flip my bars around to my right hand. The bike goes crazy when I reach down.
can we get some HOW TO's :P :P :P
How about some good hitchhiker tips? I'm just learning two footed tricks.
What part of your body are you mainly balancing with?
Some people make it look like hips, others their upper body.
Thanks
Can we please start this up again for the new year i learnt 3or4 tricks from this last year
It really gave me heaps of motivation and i will be riding mostly by myself in the new year as i'm taking a move outback
First ride of the year and the weather is beautiful :P :P :P

Things that many new riders want to learn and some expert/pro riders can help with or even challenge themselves with a new variation or entry or exit with. We will keep it fun for rear and front wheel riders.

How to Karl Kruizer on Vimeo (http://vimeo.com/10739047)
Would you say you could learn the Karl kruiser in a month ?
should i give this one a try? i've been riding for about 4 months now still not really good but i dunno... im working on hang 5s so what do you guys say? should a give it a shot with this trick? could it help if i get hang5s down before or could learning the karl kruiser help me get the hang5s?If theres ever a trick you want to learn, you just gotta go for it. Doesnt matter if people think youre ready for it or not. Karl Kruisers are much harder than hang-5s in my opinion as well. KKs take much more upper body strength than the hang-5 also. Go for it dude. Youve got nothing to lose and everything to gain. Its also an excellent "set-up" trick. Once you get it dialed, you can just put your balance foot onto the other peg, and walla! youre doing a half hiker. Have fun with it!
I say go for it as stated before go for the straight step-in practice the rolling sideSweet progression on the kk Matt, keep it up the karl kruser was a bitch for me learning it,still havnt got it 100%

Hell yeah this trick is something i've wanted to learn for a long time i started working on it not long ago (it's a lot harder than i thought ;D )(thats what she said) (sorry, had to do it)
P.S Ken-e how long have been working on these until this ^^^^^^^point
Really can't wait to get started on these tonight!!!
Each time i try a trick of the month i end up not gettin that trick but getting a total different trick instead. Its wierd but i guess its getting somewhere
Hmm lean forward. Will try that now cheers
I agree... here were Marks original rules. Lets make a plan of the tricks for each month;
Here is how Trick of the Month works.
Every month there will be a new trick in the spotlight. You can do 1 of 2 things
1. Post a video or photo of you performing the designated trick for that month
2. Make comments to help or inspire each other.
Variations are a good thing! So if you got something unusual and different please share with everyone. 09 was a great year for participation. I hope to keep the tradition going with some new tricks thrown into the mix along with some old faithful.
April - Karl Cruiser
May - Steam Roller
June - Hitchhiker
July - Mc Circle
August – Hang 5
September – Time machine
October – Mega Spin
November - Decade
December - Whiplash
What do you think of the above? Thought it better to keep the tricks simpler to allow everyone to get involved.
There we go guys, you have a bit of extra time on April's trick to get your flatland juices flowing...nice!
Lets see your Karl cruiser.
