Hi everyone,
As I announced few weeks ago, Zion Bikes has a new flatland frame on the way.
It is new redesigned Luna frame that I have been working on for long time. It was defintely worth it because I'm really really really satisfied with the outcome.
Luna 2 specs:
TT: 18.70"
CS: 13"
HT angle: 75
ST angle: 71
Spanish BB
Integrated Headset (45/45)
Heat-treated: Headtube, BB, Dropouts and Seatstays
Weigth: 1750 g
We made 4 prototipes in four colors: Pearl White, Electric Blue, Midnight Blue & Pearl Black .
We'll test them for a while and we expect them to be in shops worldwide this summer.
Today I recived few spy photos from my agent in Taiwan, taken before shipping the frames. I just couldn't keep them for myself so here they are:
Hope you like it...

The specs of these frames sound perfect for me, how would I go about getting hold of one? What about a Luna1, I liked those also...
-
it's great!!! i believe in it
-
DANG! those are pretty. let us know how they hold up.
-
looks nice!
kinda mixed up of many brands... gypo2 top tube, st martin darwin seat stays, mf derringer down tube. that drop outs kinda scarry for me though coz there's no bridge to connect seat-chain stays..
but st martin drop outs had proven me wrong.. so this should be ok.
*edit: ambiguousity...
-
there is bridges on the seat and chainstays... i don't understand

he means at the dropout, both the seat/chain stays are connected straight to the dropout blade and the blade only, not to each other aswell like most frames.
will be intresting to see how it holds up.

omg ! very nice frames
-
Great frame... i like it) No, really, it's beautiful -_-
-
wow!!! very nice frame!!!! there is only one thing i don't really like and thet is the rear triangle it looks strange for me... but altogether its a supernice frame and i'm really looking forward to seeing it in action or maybe try it at OG Summer Games ^_^
ps:i'm really into your stem!!!

Hi,
I'm glad you like new Luna.
Honestly, I think it is a frame that you just can't dislike. Of Course, it may not suit your needs, or it is not a type a frame for your riding, but I'm shure that noone can say "what an ugly frame". :)
I'll build my bike next week and I'll post you some pics. Till then, here is a pic with Luna 1 and Luna 2 so you can see the improvements that I made on the frame:

my favorite change was the was the seatsaty bends down instead of up.
reminds of the darwin.

wow. the lines on that frame are art. nice work!
-
Thanks for that... I love that frame so much....
I just wanted to tell you that they are available on Flatland Fuel since today...
So if you like it...price is really cool...
-
I really love the design the open space makes, mainly because of the contrasts between the bends in the seatstay & downtube
Example: (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/Gensanity/ZionLunaBluesmall.jpg)
that shape is just really really nice
good job!

where's the build-up pics??

Any plans on making a 2nd length option, like 19.1 or 19.25?
-
not at the moment, maybe in the future...I like it the way it is :)
-
wish ya had the option of brake-mounts on it. very SEXY frame tho! CHEERS!

I know this thread is old but so am I (age 36). I have never done flatland but recently, I have been bitten by the BMX bug again (second childhood here I come!). I have this outrageous desire to try flatland now. I saw this frame and have fallen in love with it. I can not wait to get one!
Again my apologies for the age of this thread and the poster but sheesh it is art work.
Wish me luck in getting one soon and trying flatland for the first time and the first time being brakeless!
My previous bikes were a 1982 Supergoose, 83 Thruster Tri-Power, and I resurected a FBM Fallen Angel. But I keep reading these forums and watching flatland videos. Cant wait for spring!

Ditto... it's like seeing a hot girl on the street, and then finding out she has jacked teeth when she smiles.
-
Looks like a very nice frame and light also if i'm not mistaken. I'm curious about the results.
-

I love this frame! its design is so elegant- it looks so thin!
