Post by: kamera on March 01, 2009, 04:42:39 PM
So far it was the best pegs I have ever ridden. Liked the grip and dimensions, but..

wow dude, glad you didn't fall on that.  Was that from the peg slamming into the ground or street stuff?

Did it snap when you were standing on it or did it break when it hit the ground?

It snappend when I stepped on it after doing time machine. I`m not the biggest guy (about 72Kg) and I wasn`t riding these pegs too much, so I think plastic pegs are not the best choice.

If you took that to your ankle in the wrong way, game over. No more flatland.

True that.

These two photos are now the reason I'll never buy plastic pegs ever. Not that I planned to do it but anyways.

Im not sold on plastic pegs. With the weight of alloy pegs these days, the only advantage is the noise when they hit the floor.

No problem with my KHE Alchemy pegs, and KHE sells plastic pegs for street (so it's the proof that plastic pegs can be strong) maybe Ares's one are crappy...

And there's no problem with cold temperatures because (at least, KHE's one) plastic pegs aren't made of plastic but with a special kind of fiber (if they were made of simple plastic they'll break on second or third impact with the floor).

i'm pretty sure most, if not all, of the companies producing plastic pegs have had issues with random breaks that could come from a ton of different reasons (bubble in the mold, weak polymer, bad batches, etc). does Ares have someone like George from G-Sport/Odyssey that would bend over backwards to figure out what happened?
