Ok I sold a set of cranks off one of my frames laying around. I need to get the spacer out cause I want to include that in the crank set. To do that I need to take the press fit American BB out. How do I go about that? The grease used to put in is prob long dry. Frame is over 10yrs and I know it sat for a bit. Thx! (for putting up w my dumb posts lol - much appreciated boyos)

That's Helpful? :P Kidding D - is that an unwise thing to do? Do they have some sort of reverse press fit tool? You know how Park ahs the press tool or you can make your own cheap one w washers? I just can't think of a way to make it work backwards. Maybe I'm missing the boat in my sleepy morning mind and it's obvious as hell. Thoughts? Thx for the reply bro -_-

Levi - I saw that link before. You might of posted it in another thread. It's funny. One second doing something can seem so complex, then you see how it goes and its like *click* wow that was easy. As far as getting it out, I guess I'll just try the round side of a ratchet or rubber mallet w a screw driver w cloth. The BB has been in there awhile so hopefully it's not hard to get out though I have a feeling it will be. word. and again thx!

it it ok to sometimes manhandle parts. We'd like to think of them as snap together but theyre metal and metal needs muscle to move it. GET POUNDING. Cups are cheap. Just dont mar the frame.

Don't use a screw driver at all... I tried that before a ratchet end and my bb was crunchy after that... use the end of a ratchet extension and just tap around from the inside out in a circle.

ahh now I got it. When d said the round side of the ratchet, I thought he meant the back of the head. Makes more sense. Thanks!

Better than that ,is a wooden dowel so as not to mar OR bend cups or press in bearings..... ;D :beer: Just lookin out for ya guys. :mellow:
