Title: Flatland in India - Gear BMX Shop Interview
Post by: Mr News Bot on September 28, 2008, 11:03:57 AM
A few weeks ago we received an e-mail from Dipak. Dipak is a flatlander in Mumbai, India and works at India´s first BMX shop. He wrote "I mailed you guys, so that you know there is someone in India who loves the technical side of bmx. And I am even tied to the same string, on which you guys are too - Flatland". I decided to ask Dipal, and his boss Rahul some questions. Maybe that helps us to find out more about the other people on that string. You can find the interview in our articles section. Moreover Rahul and Dipak sent us some photos of the Gear BMX Shop, themselves and a BMX show they made last month.

Thanks to you guys for the insight!

This is tight.  Love seeing that shop operating in India.  Let's get some Byke Project gear in there.  Can you send us an email address for the shop owner?  thanks.

one thing that troubles me from reading that is "theres no flat spots?"
from the pictures theyre riding on like a dirt field? and some kind of wierd pavement?
tht spot under the bridge looks ok but you can never really tell with pictures can you?
i hope they can find a nice flat spot with tiles or hardwood or find a basketball court or  whatever else or construct a nice one even
peace

Right On! Time to go home for a visit, that's the best news I've heard in years. There was always something going on but never mentioned. I got to see some riding in the region of AP, out side of Bangalore during a sports meet. Good to see the world growing. Damn and I was about to give up...Yo E ride at the temples, there's no shortage of marble and concrete. I kid...somewhat...I've been telling you to save your money and go back and visit since I've met you E. I would go there for whole year and travel all over India with your BMX bike, before you get locked into a job.

Where are you all located? We have family in Colaba. They live a few minutes from the Tag Hotel.

I'm stoked to see that there are some dedicated flatlanders in India  I've always wanted to go visit India and I always wondered about the BMX scene over there because you usually never hear anything about BMX coming out of India  Best of luck with the new shop and do not give up  Maybe one day I will be visiting India with or without my bike
