Hey Todd, why the new thread?
Hey Todd, why the new thread?
Its quite hard to find old posts and pics in a 230+ page thread, and it is only going to get longer and longer.
I think 100 pages for a thread is starting to push it. Much easier to follow smaller ones if you decide to look back over them later.

I find that logic really lost on me.
will we see the flatland forum locked soon and a new flatland forum started (v2) for newer threads also?
I've tried to find a certain bike or pic in the old thread too, and wish there was a tool at the top where you type in the page you are looking for. For example, type in page 145 and presto, there it is. That way it won't take ten minutes to reach something.

Lots of things are still on the way.
I'm testing out those pegs (I didn't choose the color :P ), Those are equivalent to griptape pegs, the knurling is hardcore, but I love it. Awesome pegs for the money (they will be under $30)
If you dont like the colour of the pegs, you could try soaking them in caustic soda. Then they will be the alloy colour. My mate just did his stem, and its now the natural alloy silver colour.

I have a very good relation w my local bike shop to the point where I can order stuff take it and use it before making easy low payments. I don’t think there is anything baler about that ^_^
But you Brian…you are quite the humanitarian and that beats being a baler any day in my book.
I mean hooking up your buddies w flat bikes... If this was one of those reputation based forums I would send some positive karma points your way!!
Instead Expect a used but in good condition khe seat in the mail soon.
Humility is a virtue that should not go unrewarded this community needs more people like you.
Peace
Julio

2008 Stylus *bling*
(http://www.global-flat.com/photos/albums/userpics/13810/CIMG0044.jpg)
What kind of tires are those and size? Thanks Brad
is this double dutch dual brake lever mod?
verry nice looking indeed.
dion rides has the best looking stylus I have ever seen.
the only other thing you could possibly upgrade on that bike is the tires bro.
if you are crazy like me, you will get primo 1.50 comets
or if you are a normal person try out some frequency g's 1.75
or if you are silly with moneys, khe folding tire ( small size ) will take off extra weight.
( I once had a pair of primo wall tires 2.10 = 3.42 pounds for the pair-
( traded them for a pair of primo comet 1.50 = 1.47 pound for the pair -
thats alot of rolling weight to shed right there in the tires. makes a big diffrence.
BAM! Another Strowler! Nice ride man. How you like that UGP Seat? Whats the grip look like?
New stuff:
Sun camo rims
KHE Reverse freecoaster
Proper magnalite front hub
Double butted spokes
Primo comet 1.35 tires
My bike is HOT, isn't it?

The seat is great. Small and comfy. Although the nose has a white plastic piece on the underside. I took a marker and colored it in.

I give this frame three months before it brakes. but that's cool because I wanna see TJ riding a bowls or the new collier frame. Nice set up TJ!!
cheerios
Alex
why would it break in 3 months?
I heard what happend, but still don't get why you would break this one also. I've seen a couple of OG's on this forum and at contests and yours is the only one that I know of that had a issue.
why would it break in 3 months?
I broke my old one because of a metal defect. I say "defect" because so far I believe I'm the only one on the planet to break one.
finally got the hook stem working and with ti bolts too
My new...err,My sons new whip, not done.Guess what it is.... ;D  BTW THE SICK CHILD FRAME IS FOR SALE,19" AQUADUCT,OCEAN MIST BLUE

Gyspy - That is one awesome bike! Love the paintwork... Nicest ride I've seen in a while!
Moncho! Wow. What a way to flip it. Ares OUT!! Looks mean. How do you like?
looks amazing moncho!
what freecoaster is that?
Moncho- I am wordless-- these pictures deserve a thread on its own. this is one of the most beautiful rides I've seen.
may I ask
a) how is the boo fc working for you?
b) what kind of seat post clamp is that?
c) how do you rate your garuda in comparison from your metro?
Saludos hermano
I'm still wondering...do you sell drugs? lol ;D

Alejandro:
a) So far, exceptional performance. Engages almost as quick as a cassette hub, way less gap than a Geisha. Much easier to work on for adjustments.
b)Eastern seat post clamp
c) Quality is among the best I've had. No flex at all, excellent welding. I realized why not many people with Ares forks and bars trim them...It's almost impossible!!! I went though 3 blades on my handsaw to cut 1" of my bars. Can't say the same about any other brand.I'm still wondering...do you sell drugs? lol ;D
Nah, I sold ALL my frames and parts to get this one.
I also worked like a dog the whole month of July...12 hours shifts.
Thanks for the comment everyone!!! -_-

I'm working on getting back into riding flat and dusted off my late 90s Morales flatland frames sold cheap under the Poverty name. Bars, wheels and cranks are from my mid90s Haro. At the local lbs grabbed a Powerlite fork and Mongoose bits (seat & post, stem) as my old Haro stuff didn't fit the Morales. Think the pegs are Primo tubesteaks. Didn't have the $ for Kore parts at the time and now they seem hard to come by. Plan on getting new tires since mine are low psi, a smaller seat and cutting my bars a bit (Always meant to do that but never got around to it). If I stick with it enough I might grab a new bike but I love the twin tubes as it reminds me of the Haro Master I always wanted.
Custom Solid frame.
19.6 tt, 13cs, 75.5 ha, 69sa, 7 standover, 11.6 bb
Mid reach stem, semi grippy pegs, mid reach forks
Its perfect. made to be the perfect all around bike.

nice fly ron, glad to see one of my old simples alive and well.
the older ones are great(fly simples and suelo v1 simples) the v2's and v3's are junk. tubing is too thin and flimsy.
nice fly ron, glad to see one of my old simples alive and well.
thanks
I think the simples are one of the best frames ever made.

Malo, Any info on your new frame?
And a word of warning, check that rim over. Animal had something like 80% of their rims with manafacturing issues. crooked welds, poor anodizing, spoke holes drilled wonky.
Thanks. Check out my other red and black ride at www.powerdownracing.comHA! I never saw that till now. ;D Yeti has way too much time on his hands!

Youre bike looks dope, not so sure about your riding spot tho, Luis.
Pimp ride Malo, how does it ride?
I love the idea of 13.5" CS!!
What is the seat tube angle?
modded wells2, nice.
but for you the current setup length is like adding one whole inch with respect to ur gamma.
what are you gonna do with your gamma?
Final question: how do those ABT forks are working for you in comparison to previous forks you've had before--I think the legs are a bit higher than other forks' - is that the case of just my imagination?
ok, it's not my every day ride but it's still my bike none the less. it's almost exactlly the way i rode it in 1988(i still need to find chrome forks and rl edge or peregrine hp tires for it though) BIG THANKS TO: DOJO JOJO, MONIS, AND OLDSCHOOL MIAMI MIKE for helping me complete this.

Thats a pretty sick bike man,I've been thinking about getting a oldschool bike myself for riding because i gotta have the platform there. The only thing i dont like about them is the stem twist sometimes for me.
get an older ep. 1-1/8th headtube so no slipping w/stems, yet still has a platform
JUGGARNAUT that bike is soooo nice.. I love the purple alot. worddThanks Bro......What are you ridin these days

2008 blue 18.75 Strowlerthats not the same one u were ridin at the 1300 spring Jam is it?
it's the same bike from before, this pic was taken right after he built it up. i think maybe he did replace the bars one time shortly after building it (maybe had skim milks on first). those in the pic are chase bars. i think he gave 'em to me for safe keeping. knew i probably wouldn't be doing any hitchhikers in this lifetime :Pi was just lookin thru pics i had from the spring jam...those are the same bars u had on then.
no prob dude, but think u meant ODIs. ;)
so...no back brakes on this one, Ken?
are u done with the DT spoke build?
i want your Gunmoll poster :)
Ken the X looks good... You better be going to 1300 so I can take it for a spin... Is it a 18.1 or 19 ?

I dont want to be an ass here but after browsing through some 20 pages of this thread I cant help but to notice that most of the bikes look like they never ever get used. Not only are they well functional but they shine like they came out the shop just a minute ago.And................
Whats up with that? I look after my bike and grease it and all that but heck no matter how much I polish it'll still look worn out..

Well... no more beginner bike (Stylus) for me...Exactly , Why wouldnt ya keep you $1000 plus bike nice even a street or mountain bike clean. I work hard for my stuff ,it's worth it to me to take the time.A clean piece of equipment runs better.Even my mower gets bathed and cleaned so it will not only run better ,but last longer as well!! Just a personal habit some people do and some don't. No biggie ;D  Dion nice ride by the way, that Orange kicks that Green up a few!!!

Hoya: I think almost everybody rides hard here whose posted their bike. My excuse for my bikes looking nice all the time is that I keep all my stuff like that - my cars, my motorcycels and all my bicycles.
Why? Because I work my ass off for what I have. Especially my dirt bike... which I've tumbled down hills, dropped it many, many, many times over and after every ride I detail the hell out of it to look nice again after it's been caked in 4 inches + of mud.
My brother is the same way. He rides grueling 24 hour cross country MTB, and his stuff always looks new (his bikes range in the $5K range). He and I have a philosophy of really keeping our hard-earned possessions (and I do mean very hard earned, especially when working a 100% commission job, like me) very nice. :)
my khe seat is not white anymore, but every time take a photo of my bike it looks brand new. ;DDoes it have a brown racing stripe? ;D

This thread is pretty ridiculous. It's like a painter posting, again and again, their collection of paintbrushes, without ever posting a painting.
There's no real need for you guys to post your collection everytime you get a new paintbrush. I (for one I guess) would much rather see photos or video of these things actually being put to use.

Here's mine, all the same but new Tanaka fork (which is NOT 738gr like flatlandfuel states, I weighted it on my microscales and it showed 790gr), but whatever, I needed something which is NOT 14mm like Inertia fork I used before.

How wide do you cut your bars down to, Alex? I remember you running pretty narrow bars before... I'm running full width sequences right now, but they're a little hard to step over/around some times... btw, hope the riding is good down at the Clocktower. Say what's up to Bottle and everyone else for me if you see them.

Swapped my frame, bars and some other stuff...
I like the red moncho frame.
having color black makes impossible riding at night time in low light.
bright red frame is eazy to see in dark I bet.
is why I went from black handlebars
to yellow. eazy to see in night time riding when it less hot outside.
;D

Thanks for the compliments  After years of going shorter and lighter with each bike, I finally thought I'd try out the opposite side of the spectrum, and it really feels like I'm back on a "normal" bmx bike for the first time in years. The frame is light, but also balanced... it doesn't feel like it's swinging around out of control like my previous Suelo V2 did. The longer backend also makes turbining spins on the back wheel way more controllable... I don't feel like I'm lagging behind the bikes momentum like I did on a 12.75 rear end.
okey , im wondering about buying a longer frame, thanks for the info
Im going to build a new wheel set, but Im not sure if I want red or black rims this time.

yup i'm front wheel rider and second pair of p(l)egs you can see on the right of the pictrue (in the pictrue - on the shelf) however i fastly set up those in bike and i will not take off again because bike looks better with it ^_^ and you're right - riding is much easier with four. thats why also seat is now higher and im changing it (for macneil travis) because animal cracked in a half :|

That frame looks too dangerous.. seriously. I would get a life insurance if I bought one of those.
Hope that in a couple of months I don't hear anyone complaining about how fast it cracked..
Bri-Jon i think the headset issues where your own fault.i think the headtube was eggshaped and that's why it didn't go well. I'm guessing the heat from welding deformed the headtube.
There is a difference between Internal & Integrated headsets. One will not fit the other.
mine is when i take it out of the box and put parts on and should fit
*edit*
Ive be told by zin to tell you all that my frame was made in 07 so last year.
most important things in frame for me are: 1st weight/resistance, 2nd geometry, 3rd color ..... 436th welds.
this is my third chimera frame and i thing that chimera frames are super ultra mega etc. Welds are ugly but stark, and for me welds are trivial thing. most important things in frame for me are: 1st weight/resistance, 2nd geometry, 3rd color ..... 436th welds.

Looking at the product picture on the GF parts site I didn't understand why someone in the parts forum actually onsidered getting a Bowls, because it looked so old school and massive. I guess that's my noobishly limited knowledge of flat parts rearing it's ugly head, because the Bowls 2 actually looks really, really nice. I like how they avoided crossing the top and bottom tube and still got a lot of clearance out of the frame.

i apologize for pointing this out: you are using the "rasta flag" colours (which derive from the ethopian flag), on a bike that contains mostly US company parts. in fact, you have often heralded the fact that most of the parts are american, because you support the US. furthermore, rastafarianism is a religion, but you are clearly a very strong christian.
i am confused.

$50 for stickers. What a scam. If you can find the images you want, scan them and get them printed onto your own clear sticker sheets.

New Chase Bar!
About how much do u guys spend building ur bikes?
Damn that's a sweet Ay EriK!!!
May I suggest a CMA headset to finish her?
And yes- Scott's the man.
Here is a question for you guys. Is there any difference between the front and back Suelo brake arms?I thought suelo only did fronts. and the backs are fly. and the fly's are angled a bit more. pretty sure you could use it as front and not notice.
About how much do u guys spend building ur bikes?
Nice ride Erik! Since I recently bought a pink frame myself I'm wondering... do you get weird looks for it?
Nice ride Erik! Since I recently bought a pink frame myself I'm wondering... do you get weird looks for it?
Nope. The way I figure, any man willing to ride a pink bike is quite comfortable in their own skin. I try to let the riding speak for itself.
Plus the ladies dig it.

see guys scuff marks that means i ride it sometimes
Nice ride, I like silver. We all know you are a full time badass and we are just part timers ;)
On a side note, how can you stand the hand hold on that McNeil seat? I would love to support McNeil for doing the right thing with their flatland seat and 330 post but I would rather grab a bear trap than the back of that seat. Am I alone in thinking this way?

I just built this for my Christmas present to myself. My daughters getting the age where she is riding her bike more and riding my Haro cruiser is boring. Totally rides different from the Haro's I've ridden in the past.
couple changes on the ride, it's almost done. it may not be pretty, but it rides like a dream. thanks for the forks Who-Leo!

Here is my wifes new KGB. I built it for her to ride when she accompanies me on interstate trips, for competitions and jams. All parts were chosen on a 'fashion before function' basis, as you can tell by the colour scheme. lol Light as hell, and looks pretty sexy, I might add. The bike, not the wife. lol Lucky she doesn't read these forums..!! Ha ha :)

 This is my wonderful "flatland" Bmx bike... I really hate the fact that it really isn't good for anything to do with flat. But I guess I can learn to do Barspins on it until I get a proper bike some time... ^_^ Kinda funny... The bike is a Canadian made Ventre Bmx bike from the mid 90's(?)(It being Canadian the first problem, Though I'm Canadian I know it won't get make right -_- ). It is rusted together and I just left the cranks off because they are almost useless.
But I'm sure to get a KHE bike sometime since I found a store to order though (you people in the USA are lucky for the easy access to the bike shops that support flat. Nearest one to me is a couple of days away! Its really no fun).
Well sorry for the horrid picture but it helps me to feel better ;D

1960s old K zildjian that had bad cracks and was cut to save the cymbal/repair it so it would be playable. The best sounding cymbal I have ever played! That one cymbal cost more than the bike!

why are the forks reversed?
OK, here is my son Rutger's new BMX bike. His 6th birthday is this Saturday. I got this to replace the POS 12inch bike I got him from target. I would love to see some other rides of kids his age.

Correct if I'm wrong AREA20, but hasn't James White been riding that Paris like 3yrs + and still withstanding the odd Whopper every now and again?

frankensteinishly gross. need blue steel forks / cranks
The brakeless bikes look so effing sick and clean, but alas, I need a front brake. Waiting for the KHE seat and seat post. No pivotal for me.
These will suit your ride and your Handbag!
Is that a DK alloy seatpost or a St. Martin seatpost with sunset seat? Im thinking on getting one of those seats but I dont know if my Dk seatpost can accept 9mm rails.

^St. Martin stem?
^St. Martin stem?
st martin boomerang bar stem combo
thats dissapointing. i thought the idea was great+1
^St. Martin stem?
st martin boomerang bar stem combo
The bar comes from the St Martin bar stem combo but the stem is a new one slimer and lighter than the previous. The clamping system is totally different too, and it's not a St Martin. It's a prototype that I conceived and made make.
Saint Martin will not make the boomerang combo because it's too expensive.
My new Luna, just built it up yesterday, drive train on the way. Waiting to put on the front brake.

Now the weather just needs to get ridable. ;D
Yea thanks for the love. I ordered a BB and sprocket and all, so yea I'll probably put them on. But to be honest I really like how this feels without a drive train. I'm horrible right now, and not having cranks makes everything alot easier. I mean a tiny tiny bit heavier would be nice, being that these are Plegs, I could probably put some metal pegs on to make it heavier, but idk. Thanks Rad255, there's alotta real smooth bikes on these pages lately ;D
Get yourselves some Zion frames, super light, super strong, best of both worlds.Plus, Sam Foakes just joined our side haha.
Btw Who-Leo, loving the bike, the cranks, wheels, all of it, love it. Juggernaut, your bike is super super slick as well. Can't wait to build something on a 20+ frame some day.

I just got hooked up by a bike shop called Bunnyhop Bikes in Richmond Va! This is going to help TREMENDOUSLY in the future especially considering how absolutely psyched they are on flatland. I picked up a set of eastern bars through them. 8 inch rise, ultra light, super nice.

lol, great minds think alike? ? ? ? ? ?
For the record, I (sadly) wanted the Chase bars before I saw Matthias on them.

WHO DIDN"T
I think tall bars would mess with your low aero like position.
if he didn't have the proper spandex/cotton blend to hold his dick firmly in place it would screw up his aero like position.
Did I say no homo? I meant mo homo!

WEIGHT SAVING ON THE SEAT TJ, YOU'RE SUCH A POSER ;)
JSteady, that Quamen looks sooo hot!!
more lightweight parts=more posering(ismist)
Also got some two piece KHE cranks. They're pretty sweet.
I want to see TJ in Sam Foakes frame. it is a 19.2... In fact I think Zion should have sent TJ one of the prototypes to see if it holds up.

Beautiful build, One if the nicest G8's I've come across on here. Assures me I would have as well been content with a G8 when deciding between one and a Delta 4.
The 2pc Hindenburg's look sleek. I thought they would been brought down in price by now like the previous Hindenburg's.
i would "taco" Sailors wheels just by standing too close to them.
he is light tho, so i guess for someone of his size, weight, and smooth snappy style, theyd hold up ok.
this weight savings stuff is gettin scary tho. :P

I still think 48's laced 24 is a good idea for lighter riders.

Thanks moncho! Yeah, I wanted to keep the same color scheme on all the parts. The pedals and the rims match with the frame.
What color is that Master, red? Looks like you had tennis balls in the rear wheel ;D Mine was the first year out, '89. I had forgotten that the decals say Team Master. I rode it for about two weeks and put my '88 Master back together. The '89 was a tank. I later took my '88 Master off a good sized street ramp and broke it at the seat post.
SWEET ,that is nice!!!!!do those Colony cranks go together like Fly's,one arm over the spindle and the other on the end? Thanks! Yes...your correct on the cranks....exact same way.

I love that BLUE !!!! ;D  Blue Moon.............
You're a f*cking moron.
I got the bars and the grips at the same time before I ever saw that set up. I got the seat and set up because my 99er broke out through the back that I had been running for nearly two years.
If you're trying to call me out and say that I'm doing something that I pretty clearly (based on the circumstances of my purchases) am not, then you better start pointing a hell of a lot more at other people in this thread who ARE buying set ups purely to show off and make people gawk at.
edit: It's also pretty clear that I spend a lot of time riding my bike. So pointing fingers at me when there is abundant proof that I put what I buy to good use while many here have pristine set ups that don't even have scratches on the ends of their pegs, is pretty f*cking stupid.

Because I didn't, and it stands for pretty much everything I'm against and when some dipsh*t from Texas decides he wants to make a snarky comment about my set up from behind the secrecy of a screen name it kind of rubs me the wrong way.
I thought it was kinda wierd seeing the same modification around the same time. I think he's copying you. ;D
ive just learnt multiple brakeless whiplash over winter and must have caught the nose of my seat twice in 4 mnths,
interesting concept though
work in progress...

ok im only 5' 8 , but i tend to catch my knees on the bars more than clip the seat

Idk, now that it's complete, I kinda feel like it's a little too flashy. Feel like I'm gonna get flamed a little for this one.
Love purple though.
mine ;Dare those Eastern Ti cranks?
You know what's even dumber? I'm going to get a whole new round of sh*t because I'm getting a st martin diamond and OH GOD MATTHIAS HAS A STRAIGHT TUBE FRAME TOO
You're a f*cking moron.
I got the bars and the grips at the same time before I ever saw that set up. I got the seat and set up because my 99er broke out through the back that I had been running for nearly two years. I cut the nose off to learn multiple brakeless whiplashes. I'm 6 ft 4 with very long legs so giving myself another inch and a half of room proved to be pretty beneficial in the long run.
Let's see your set up again? If you have something to say to me then come out and say it you pussy.
Oh sorry, that was probably before you were born so you would'nt understand.
Oh sorry, that was probably before you were born so you would'nt understand.
So you're old and you moved on from name calling to insults via suggestion and just generally being a complete douchebag?
Why am I even bothering to explain myself to an old knucklef*ck like you anyway. You never come out of the woodwork and chances are you'd never say this to my face anyway so ...
because if we do cross paths in the future you'll freakin know it. Have a good day.
