I got a new bike, peep this
« on: January 22, 2008, 07:27:13 AM »
Swing down, sweet chariot stop and LET ME RIDE.

Suelo Simple + 170mm bar + fork
Hart mini-stem
KHE Hindenberg 2-pc
cheap pedals
KMC color chain
Signal seat+post until I can exchange my incompatible stuff at FF
28t sprocket
Geisha front+rear
G-sport Ribcage
DK spokes
Sequence 1.625 pegs
ACS original gangster tires

Plus, my spot for the moment:

This is the first bike that I really put together myself.  I haven't put brakes on yet cuz I'm having too much fun with it now.  I also will have to get a regular stem if the Hart can't pinch hard enough (I can't fit a compression bolt in there), and that also means buying a new handlebar because the Suelo is too low for me.

On another note, which side should the chain be facing?  I put it on with the curvy side facing in, but it was banging on my driver.  I reversed it, and it still bangs.

I dunno about your chain banging, but it looks like your cranks are really close to your frame.  if there isn't more than a little room between the cranksand the frame, the flex in the crank arms when you fall is going to dent your chainstay.  i have seen it, and had it happen, all too often.

I took a rasp to the inside of my profiles to give me more clearance. There's no reason for the sticky-outy bit on the inside, and it won't compromise the strength of the crank arms (just took f*cking ages).
Oh and nice bike. Suelo ftw

Light as HELL, it can't be much more than 20 pounds.

Yeah it's not my ideal choice. It's stupid-heavy, but I love zero offset, and I love having the equivalent of 9+ inch height on my bars.  The Sequence zero stem would save me like a half pound but I'd need to drill a hole in the bars to fit a brake cable through it, and I don't know anyone who could do that for cheap/free.

I see how they look close together from that angle, but they're a healthy distance.  I'd still like to get more spacers in there just to be safe, I misjudged when I was installing them.  But it's a pain in the ass, so I'll wait until I have another reason to take off my cranks.

Sweet bike! However, I don't like the look of zero offset stems. :P

If you want more height you can put more spacers under the stem, but you would need forks with a longer steer tube for this to work. Also if you ever want to get new taller bars the new sequence bars come in 8".
