New Generation of Riders!?!?!
« on: November 09, 2007, 06:42:48 PM »
Just a thought on my mind. From time to time,i see riders riding crankless with pegs in its place.Could this lead into a new era of riding kinda like when BRAKELESS went mainstream. If you think about it,we don't use cranks for a whole lot tricks. You would have more foot room,it would lighten up the bike and you could run a front wheel on the back.Alot less maintinence too!!!It may add variety of tricks as well. What do you all think??

People have been doing it for ages, and its never really caught on as the "new" thing.
I personally think its stupid, takes away the aspect of it being a bike in my opion

This is exactly why I think tricks using cracks and pedals will be the next generation of riding.

Ha Ha love that last posT!!!
I'm currently riding with no cranks as mine were super heavy! I've learnt loads more in just a week since taking them off!
I'm now waiting for my new frame to arrive which i have super light cranks for!
Riding crankless is wierd to start with but for me its helped me progress!
Oh how I wish it was dry !

i also think it's kinda stupid,  ok riding brakeless is one thing... what's next? remove the back wheel if you dont use it?

aha that or like

all you have is a peg
and you have to balance on it as you hold grips not attached to handelbars cause u kno.. handlebars are too much weight.

I say do whatever you want. Trends come and go.  But I wouldn't be caught dead riding crankless but hell who I am! haha

Though my mind by default thinks of a scooter when crankless is mentioned.

I think riding crankless takes away from a bike.I always the seat would go before granks LOL.I think Later on I would want advance my self in the crank trick area.Time machs,Death Trucks,DUmp truck pedal megaspins and maybe a dump truck Decade(has any one done that before would be pretty cool)

Has anyone ever pulled a pedal steam to pimp glide, or the reverse? I'm curently (still) working on rolling a pedal wheel chair; hard stuff.

If we hardly use the pedals or cranks, why replace them with pegs? Just get rid of them all together.

I got rid of my grips.

I also sawed off every other tooth on my chain ring.

I am running back brakes on my bike as well, though they don't work so well while running back wheel-less;  Maybe I should remove them, to save weight of course.
