It's always fun to watch Akira's riding... even if he sketched a ton in that run, he's always doing something completely different then most riders. Best of all, not one pumping, cross-handed steamroller in sight in his run!  ;D
Awesome how he can place 3rd in pro anywhere in the world, but once he goes back to Japan, he gets stuck in expert.

----Yikes, I hate to sound like a Mathias fanboi, but pumping x-footed crackpackers and turbining no-kick junkyards, no wonder he won, despite riding on what looked like a freshly waxed floor.

Uh... if Matthais starts rocking the back wheel as hard as he rocks the front wheel, how in the hell is anyone ever going to beat him?  Srsly.  As long as he doesn't completely stop riding the front wheel like some guys seem to do when they start working on back wheel stuff...

And yes, I agree that the floor looks like it had just been waxed, polished, and zambonied...

I love it when i can watch a video and just get so many ideas in my head, now if i can only bring em out on the bike i'd be set. Amazing riding by both them, in their respectful rights.

Yup, it was the case, a lot of guys had difficulties to ride correctly on that very slippery floor.
Some very good guys didn't compete for that reason.

****ing good weekend. Loved the relax atmosphere.

You know, this looked like a fine contest and all, but for me watching that footage compared to the recent KOG footage that we were lucky enough to get sort of illustrates the fact that the battle format seems to be the best way to run comps these days...

no offence to the organisers or other riders but the judging of this contest was bullsh*t and really pissed me off, cuz of that i doubt there will be any riders from england going that contest next year

i totally agree with Burd... without the battle atmosphere there is no sense of urgency... don't get me wrong matthias sh*t was dialed, but i mean with a battle it is more like, you better get it done the first time or your effed.  these videos had solid riding, but the energy wasn't there like it was in the BIDC and KOG videos.   just my thoughts though.

cheers
