Babyback Jam, Austin Oct. 27th
« on: October 04, 2007, 04:34:35 AM »
yo, Dave gets back into town pretty soon. i thought i'd host a jam for him where we can cook and even have a beer comfortably.

the flatland season is in full bloom, and i can't think of two better reasons to get out and ride it: Dave will be back from his trip, and i've got a lush new spot to share. very chill, lots of talking and just getting everybody together for a fun day. ya dig? the riding surface is killer with a very slight slope to it. fast and clean, and the flattest, most consistant spot i've ever ridden. if any complications of any kind should arrive with the spot, breathe easy, there are a few guaranteed other spots available close by.
the Dave Jam will start off about 2 so we can basically "claim" the court for the day.
you can get me @ 512.450.4680 for directions, since my place is not on google maps.

i have 1 small bbq grill. if anyone has a small one they could fit in the car, please come with it. there's a fountain within walking distance, but just to be safe, please bring your own water. i can refill any bottles with clean water at my house right there. if you'd like to drink some beers, bring em out, just have your id around please. other than that, don't forget your bike, maybe a folding chair, sun protection in the form of lotion and hats, and a fun vibe. see ya there!

We had so much fun out there yesterday.  Here are some highlights of the day, for me at least:

1.  Riding in 80 mile an hour winds
2.  Riding a borrowed, 50 pound bike
3.  Riding so many different bikes and never knowing which bike to keep riding
4.  Watching that street rider guy plow his face into the concrete trying to jump over something.
5.  Watching the drunk street rider guy get up from the crash and not know what's going on.
6.  Aaron Frost hooking me up with a frame, cranks, and bars
7.  Chadwick hooking me up with a stem and pegs.
8.  Watching everyone jam like crazy after eating some tasty burgers and chicken.  Props to Raddad and his wife and son and everyone else who cooked.
9.  Seeing so much Rockstar energy drink at one event
10.  Watching the drunk street rider in a continuous daze throughout the day
11.  Watching Jim do the Donkey Kick Glide
12.  Watching Diego ride at 30 miles an hour.  he's a machine.
13.  Calling the immigration on Reuben Castillo
14.  Jamming in the garage later in the night
15.  Everyone competing for $1.00 at the garage doing old school tricks on a 500 LB Hoffman EP bike.
16.  Cherrypickers
17.  Watching Lee do crazy fast turbined hang fives on Chadwicks 1.3 LB bike.
18.  Eating out of the community watermelon
19.  Killing Lee and Art thomason with bad gas all the way home.

Great jam.  The Austin guys are a great crew to hang with.  See you guys November 17th in Houston.

Hey Yall,

A full days work almost compleatly done. This event was alot of fun even though I didn't get to ride with everyone. This left me the opportunity to cover more of the event than I would have if I was riding.

Cool new viedeo lots of Pictures and a Write up so you know what happen that day.

Thanks again to everyone that showed up and made this day very memerable. There were more Cameras out there. This first video is only from the day time. We still have the After Part Video from the Oltorf.
