Where To Buy Freecoaster Hub?
« on: April 18, 2023, 10:46:10 PM »
I'm in need of a new freecoaster, I'm struggling to find a website or bike shop that sells a freecoaster to fit 10mm dropouts. Does anyone have recommendations? Ideally something in the UK and around £200

There are tons off freecoasters out there nowadays but they are all 14mm ....
I can think of only a few 10mm: FEC, Profile and Ares. Maybe you can find a KHE old stock.

Welcome to the forum...

eBay is worth looking at, a KHE Geisha freecoaster with 10mm axles sold on there a little while ago...

If your frame has the space may be worth modifying the dropouts to accept 14mm axles. Not ideal but opens up a whole world of freecoasters!

Reshaping my dropouts to 14 mm is something I've been thinking about. That's possibly my best option as it will open up so my new hubs to choose from.

I have done it on a frame previously without issue. Just mark it all out and take your time!

The only other issue i did have was the increased socket size for the larger nut, then did not fit inside the peg without modification!
