Ares APlus 2021 vs Colony Apprentice complete bikes
« on: August 19, 2021, 03:32:41 PM »
Hey everyone,

I was wondering what your take was on the Ares APlus 2021 compared to the colony apprentice complete bikes and which you would recommend for a new flatland rider. I guess the other option would to buy all the components which I’m not opposed to, just want to get the best set up to help me get into flatland.

Cheers,
Doc

The Ares Aplus is a little bit lighter and shorter. Also the pegs on the Apprentice look slippery and the seat not too flatland friendly. I would go for the Aplus unless you are tall (e.g. above 175-180cm), in which case you would appreciate the longer frame and tall bars on the Colony.

The Colony is tall.  I'm 6'3" and I was comfortable on the Colony.

The colony has better freecoaster (sealed, 14mm)
That alone makes it worth it over the Ares
Dax (now in LAS VEGAS as of July 2022)
