My Quamen G2
« on: July 21, 2020, 11:34:11 AM »
Been lurking for a while so thought I would post a pic of my bike. It's a 1999 Quamen G2, weighs a ton lol but I will be doing some upgrades and making it lighter.

very clean bike
if that's one idea, be careful using a smaller sprocket and/or smaller freecoaster driver, the frames of this period were not designed with overall dimensions of the chain resulting from the use of a small sprocket and/or a small driver

Ah thanks for the advice! Yeah i got that and finding bits to upgrade is proving the difficult bit like the forks, because of the headset.

yeah i was about to say something to you and i used G1,G2,G3 and G4 frames and
so yeah the smaller spocket is not a good idea. For the weight as using lighter seats,
posts, cranks in magnesium or one of the lighter crank arms, titanium spindle, lighter
tires in both front and back will help.

There are a lot of ways to lighten that Quamen up and it is not going to be really
light but you can get it down to around 25LBS or so..which is not bad!
