trying to find brake pads that don't grip well
« on: May 02, 2020, 12:38:29 PM »
Hi,i use feathering on brakes and i want the wheel not to freeze when i apply pressure.

Do you know any brake pads that ''don't work well''?! Because thats what i am looking for!

And they also don't squeak, they need to be silent

Well, most clear pads are out of the question. Even on black rims they tend to be very loud. It all comes down to how you have the brakes set up, imo. Just try a pad with a softer compound, that might work.

Hm, the typical clear brake pads seem to be soft in my opinion and they are grippy and loud. So I would try something hard.
Maybe you can try a cheap standard brake pad from a hardware store or some other "random" brake pad.

Cut the ends off your pads to reduce friction

Odyssey used to make these black compound shorty brake pads.  They were harder than a rock and didn't stop for anything.  I think that they come on some of the older Springfield brake set models.  I used them for about 10 seconds on my 22 in.  They came off quickly.

hi Mal, I would suggest the Odyssey Ghost Pads in black or red. They are not that grabby and also kinda cheap.
This is how they look like LINK
