The "Ultraman Zoffy Still Rides" Bike Check
« on: April 13, 2020, 12:27:35 AM »
Haven't posted a setup pic (or much of anything else) on GF in who knows how long, but with the abundance of spare time on my hands lately, figured I'd visit the old stomping grounds for a bit. My current flat setup is a Haro Lineage Flat Master, which I love since I remember wanting the '87 Master so bad in junior high. Mid 40's foot pain also appreciates having a frame platform again for decades and such. I run my own small 3D printing toy parts studio nowadays, but have designed a few BMX related parts for myself that I run: press fit peg pivot caps, Bluetooth speaker holder, etc. My Master came without the rear cable guide holes drilled on one of the top tubes, so I designed a 3D printed snap in single gyro cable guide for my rear brake (which I actually prefer over the dual single cable setup anyways). Waiting on a Diatech Flexie to come in so I can add my front brake for full "freestyle" functionality. lol

I also ride a La Bastille nowadays as well for flat/street/park duty. Love that bike too. Anyways, I still ride, and these are my bikes. Take care and stay safe everyone. =)

It sounds great, I believe it was like $15 or so off Amazon. I started getting annoyed with headphones a few years back, so this was the workaround. Speaker lasts for 3 hours or so when fully charged.

Yeah, sadly, I've been sucking at BMX since the 80's. =)

The Matthias bike looks solid. Don’t know if it was seeing yours but I started Checking them out and just pulled the trigger on a 19.5” Matthias frame for myself!

It's an awesome frame. I ran the 20.25" for a few years and loved it, but decided to try out the 19.5 when the new colorway came out. My only gripes with it are the integrated seat clamp and the lack of integrated chain tensioners. I ended up sawing off the seat clamp holes and just running a normal seat clamp instead; I would have to tighten the integrated clamp so much for some reason that I knew it was only a matter of time before they would get stressed out and snap off, so I had them cut and grinded the seat tube down smooth.
I decided to eventually pick up the Master to have a "freestyle" setup with brakes and use the Bastille for brakeless flat and park/flat ledge jibs (which I equally suck at but its fun). Footjam decades, both take off and landing, started to really hurt doing as foot pain has gotten progressively worse for me over the years to the point where rear wheel anything is tough for me to do now, so I've gone back to just hucking brake decades on the Master, which is way more forgiving for "old farts" like me who's bodies are starting to slowly crumble despite my best efforts. lol
