Can I run forks without a compression cap?
« on: August 25, 2018, 03:40:52 PM »
i got a set of Haro Bastille forks given to me personally from Matthias Dandois in California. I don’t have a fork compression cap for them. Do I really need it?

theoretically you can run them without the compression cap but there would be no way to get enough tension on your headset unless you used one to initially compress the headset down then unscrewed it and return it to whoever lent it to you.

best solution is to email flatlandfuel or empire to ask which size you'd need and simply buy a compression cap

There are many compatible compression caps available from other brands.
i'm not sure what the correct size is for that fork, I think it's  M25 X 1.5mm, have the shop confirm it.
