Wow don't usually see cutouts on the plate nowadays. lot of engineering with this one. a tad short but looks nice!

I wouldn’t use a stem made from 7075. I’ve tried stems made from 7075 before and my bars would slip. Even with really good knurling. 6061 is softer and the knurling will really dig in good. I’m no metal expert, just going off past experience. Plus I try avoid to big of cut outs on the clamping area, not enough surface to surface contact.

what would you think of a 7075 alloy stem but with a face plate made of 6061 alloy?

That’s an interesting idea. 7075 for the stem with 6061 for the front part. It would help keep the stem light weight plus the front plate would dig into the knurling. Definitely worth a try.
