Trick of the month again?
«

So I'm riding a lot at the minute but if I'm honest it's a pretty lonely business lol. Doesn't seem to be many riders in my area, it's pretty hard to get parts and let's be honest, this forum is about the slowest forum I've ever seen.
Looking through old posts it seems as though 'trick of the month' was really popular. Beginners could get advice, novices could get some focus and bad asses could show what variations and links they're working on.
Would there be anyone interested in taking part if I resurrected it (as long as I'm not stepping on anyone's toes)?
I'll leave it a week or so and if there's any interest in this thread I'll get the ball rolling

Hi deacon,
I'm interested!
lonely business is regular business also here, I rode many years alone and still am.
there were some years when there were other riders besides me, but they didn't stayed for long, at least not riding regularly.
I'm back to riding on a daily basis from last November, before that for something like 3 years I rode like every 3 months or so, but before those 3 years I rode 16 years regularly
Once a street rider told me that flatland riders are the kind of people who can go out
and try to burn leaves on the ground with a magnified glass
, I took it as a compliment because I think he is right and we flatlanders have a lot of patience. I just got remembered in that sentence so I thought I'll share it.

it could be a good thing, maybe we can stop the agony of the forum.

Since my new bikes are on their way from flatlandfuel to my house, I can't video myself doing a trick, but I thought that it could be nice if someone could show a halflash.
I think this trick is easy enough to learn by new riders (easier than whiplash for example) and it is an important trick because you can link it to either front wheel or back wheel tricks or you can just ride out.
So someone could show us a halflash? if you can link it to other trick that's great but you don't have to. but do include a simple ride out (there is one where you just turn your body and bars to normal position).
Thanks!

Hey Ido, what bikes are you getting? Exciting stuff!
Half whiplashes are a bit beyond my skill level but I'm willing to try them

Hi, I'm getting an ares Ashura frame, heresy ascend bars, flatware zero fork, ares wheelset and other parts to make a complete bike.
I hope it will be here soon
You should try halflashes, it all in the bars and the sweep of your leg (put your foot's fingers on the back peg so that way you can sweep the peg better), and the foot which is on the front peg put a bit before the fingers and close to the fork blade. Good Luck!
Keep us updated on your progress!

Ido, In the very first trick the bars are Fat Rat bars made by Global Flat member Matt Thomas, The other bars are Quamen Barclay bars.
Here is a photo.
