ARES pivotal flatland seat?
« on: May 08, 2017, 11:09:00 AM »
I just spotted this new seat from ARES.

Finally there will be a flatland pivotal seat! (not counting the original Macneil from a decade ago)

This is a 3D printed sample. Original design for flatland use.

It seems they will go into full injection mold production soon and be available in the summer.

The Deco / Colony / Infinity / TNB / etc.. seats are all made from the same mold as the original Macneil seat.

The reason why one one has made a original seat is because of the huge cost that involves making a new injection mold. Ares has finally stepped up and is going to invest in making a new mold.

Could this be the first option for a non-padded pivotal flatland seat? This would be interesting. I still can not imagine to ride a padded seat because I would expect the cover to start to rip off from the first session...

some details were also revealed:

The seats length is 180.96 mm and has 3 lines on the front tip so you can cut it down in 5mm increments if you like a shorter seat!

ARES is accepting orders already, they will be available around August.
