Question for people with Snafu Chain Tensioners
« on: June 13, 2008, 02:41:37 AM »
Ok so I've had these forever and I just changed frames and I just got around to putting them on the new luna and I can't figure out how to get them on right... I feel soo stupid and I just threw out the manual.

Ya so could someone explain the right way to get these on.

Like which way the rings go, which way the middle piece goes etc...

Thanks

Look at how little room I have to tighten... It worked perfectly on my old frame

When I tighten it, the metal piece tightens into the ring
I must be doing something wrong

take out a link in your chain. your wheel will be slammed more but the tensioner will work.

So are the Dubz really worth $30? That's a bit steep for a pair of tensioners...

the dubz are really nice. very light.  you decide if the price is right.

Looking at Kevins bike, I'd say one whole link may be too much. I'd remove one whole link and add a half link.

 I don't have a chain on in any of the pics I posted. But after putting the chain on today I just pulled the pegs back by hand and that's good enough for now

even without seeing your chain, paradoxium has a point. when you remove a whole link the axle gets pulled back a lot. making it impossible to put the chain on.

I run a single dubz (wtf?) on my drive side and think it works incredibly well; light, doesn't get caught up in fingers, and has semi modular components that let you mod/customize it pretty easily (I switched my bolt out for a longer one so i could keep my wheel real slammed.)

So for me it was definetly worth the 15$, but if you do run both tensioners, that 30$ does seem a little steep.
