hi!
out of curiosity, did you take any pics of the process and the result you achieve by doing that?

No, but it's very simple. Using a Dremel, I ground down the edge of the cups. A grinding wheel would have been faster but I don't have easy access to one. The cups on my headtube look like any other configuration. I saw a few threads online where people take 1" cups and pack them with loose ball bearings while using 1 1/8 aheadset parts but I figured why do that if my fork goes all the way through and everything else fits nicely? The bearings are sealed top and bottom. I've been riding to my spot almost every day for the past 2 or 3 weeks and have dropped my bike quite a bit. I inspected a few nights ago when I changed stems and everything looks good, so regarding results, it just fits (and works!)  :)  lmk if you want pics or if there's anything else I can answer.

I still have a sealed set that I used on my 87' General RL Osborn Pro that I bought from a member.

Wow, I am nowhere near your level of bike check awesomeness!  Dude, that black to chrome fade with awesome colors in between is Godly!

Cool, still have the frame?

You overestimate my creativity! I picked a random color right before he shot it and the black to green fade was not what I wanted at all. I just wanted the regular Haro scheme. He also covered the whole frame so I had to remove the powdercoat in the rear. The yellow/green is a candy topcoat and it went right over the chrome. I just read your pink/blue thread and I agree, powdercoating is the way to go. Had I known the colors were going to last (I thought this bike was going to be thrashed in no time since I ride it almost every day), I probably would have given the scheme a little more thought. I've been stepping all over the top tubes, dropping parts on it, crashing, etc.. and it still looks great.
