Hi I'm Rob, 30 from Tamworth, England. I have been a fan of Flatland for years and rode for a short while in my early teens. I'm currently looking at getting my first bike very soon, I also do Downhill/Freeride MTB.

HI everyone! I am 22 years old and I currently live in Philadelphia, PA. I study engineering at Stony Brook University in Long Island and I've been riding for about 3 years BMX, 3 years fixed gear freestyle prior.

I really enjoy all aspects (except trails) of BMX but I identify the most with flatland, since it is the one discipline I ride the most and enjoy the most.

What's up, I'm in Central Florida US on the beach, been at flat for about 15 years on and off and back to street.. a couple 2-3 year breaks in there.
Started making my own Bars and forks and pegs. (there not perfect but they have held up about a year)
Finally broke down and bought my first new frame and fork (Intrikat combo) after putting about 25hrs a week on the courts on a micromachine. Been fighting with cliffhangers and messiahs for the last month. (I really wish I was smarter than the verification box)

@lowkeyfilmz1, sweet man so you weld your stuff?  What's up guys, i'm a new metal fabricator.  I make furniture, gates, birdhouses really anything a customer wants, you name it.  I've been an off and on flatlander for maybe about 7 years or so.  I'm not that good because I never really practice I guess because riding is just so fun I find it hard to just practice one trick at a time.  Though I plan on changing up my old riding routine and focusing on getting better.  I think the best trick I can probably do is a hang five to a steam roller.

Anyways, who isn't a fan of KGB bikes?  Since they aren't around anymore and frames are usually 300+ and I just so happen to be a metal fabricator, I want to eventually take a crack at making a frame somewhat like the KGB Superpower or my favorite "the Psychonnecta."  Check out my site arcmanfab.com if you're bored.  I got a bender and roller both with a set of dies for 1" and 1.5" round tubing.  I also got a torch and stuff so bending the tubes in the right shape should be easy and I have a really nice notcher "the beast" so I can do angled notches.  It's the tool you use to cut the metal where round tube is to be connected to each other.

I got started on the DK signal which was a great bike for the price but the TT is too short for me as i'm 6'.  A few years ago I bought a KHE A-Damn which overall has been a great ride but for the price was sort of a rip off.  The spokes on both wheels kept going loose immediately and I paid a local bike shop to tighten them but I eventually switched the wheels out with my old DK signal's.  The Bars were huge so had lots of torque which was a nice feature but they were too big to do any bar tricks so totally pointless.  I bought some sick ass QUAMEN BAR-BE-Q's which kick all kinds of ass.  I installed a gyro and back brakes but there's just too many tacky cables and the fork wobbles since the gyro has a little peg of aluminum preventing the stem from sitting flush so i'm about to just remove the gyro and back brake for now.  Oh yea, and the stem that came on the bike stripped out and held bars like a grandma's grip so I had to drop 70 bucks on a new one.  The bike was so bad I tried returning it to Flatlandfuel right away but they wouldn't take it back.  I'd recommend just staying away from KHE bikes all together from my experience since this ~700 dollar bike didn't hold up as good as my 300 dollar signal that I had for years and dropped in salt water multiple times.  "Rode some hang fives on a bulk head at a bay home."  :D  Oh and if you want to peel off those stickers to reveal the pretty flat black paint, you can't.  They are like painted on decals.  I want to powder coat the frame and a few accessories either hot pink or shiny red with red flake.  I might just wait till I try building a frame though.

Name: Valerie
Age: 23
Location: Wisconsin, USA
Riding since: Got into cycling in 2008, just getting into flatland now
Bike: Surly Cross Check. I don't have a functioning BMX bike at the moment.

Hi, I'm Valerie. Bikes are a pretty huge part of my life, I fix them for a living, ride to work almost every day of the year, and do some road riding and mountain biking. I've always thought flatland looked fun, but after seeing Rad, I decided I need to give it a try. I've found some of the parts to make a bike, and will probably get the rest fairly soon. I'm super stoked to give it a try once I'm able.

Forum seems pretty dead over here!!
Just like my riding was for the past 6-8 months! Can't remember exactly how long I was off the bike, but decided to get back in the game yesterday.

Hey Chap,

Lately minimum of 3 sets a day as summer is over and the normal cycle trade is slowing down, we build all the wheels for all the local bike shops, we hold every colour of ever butt in ever size of spoke, each wheel is numbered and all sizes are written down to speed up a build when we get the same wheel/set next time.

Around 27 minutes laced/tensioned and true onto a bike or into a box but that’s taken me 15/16 years of  appearance.

I teach people to build wheels in my spare time so if anyone ever what’s to learn hit me up 👍💪
