Name, Doug

Bike, Mid School Hoffman EP

I've always wanted to try Flatland. I found a EP for sale locally. So I picked it up and am in the process of putting it back together to give flatland a try.

Welcome Doug! Glad your out there riding!

The ep was a great bike for sure, but be prepared to replace a lot of it as you get better, especially if you are an older guy. Your wrists will get jacked really quick because the bikes those days were sooooooo heavy.

I actually started back on a similar bike about a year and a half ago (37 lbs) and started replacing parts as I went along to lighten up the bike. 6 months later I was on an almost completely different bike (26 lbs). lol Im not a big weight fiend, but it does have an effect on how long you ride in a session and now much wear and tear your body takes (especially your wrists). The older you are, the more that means.

I just bring it ups because I really want to see you give it a good go and have a lot of fun!
Kids, you only get one face in life - don't spend it on pavement

dave.  40. havent ridden in 16 or 17 years.  except for an occasional race in 2004.  been scouring the web for a week or so now trying to find anyone in the memphis area to offer a test ride.  i have ressurected my 87 GT PFT and while it is past its usable prime it is all i have.  was going to send it to standard and have the geometry replicated because i dont like the feel of what non flat bikes ive ridden in the past couple of months.  have gottwn fire hydrants back and basic variations of fork glide etc.  not sure how far i want to go with this rekindled love affair but i know we are doing something.  anyone know if the havok fellow is still around.  looks like last post was ten months or so ago.  thanks
