wow change of plans.. rear rim f*cked up
« on: September 25, 2007, 08:42:29 PM »
well i was riding today and i had nothing coming up my mind to practice so i just tried megaspin to dork wheelie and try to 180 tailwhip to fw steamroller... didnt exactly work out and i smacked the rear wheel in the ground...

after a few more tries i heard a weird creak noise when it hit the floor but i thought i was just imagining stuff, i got on my bike and my wheel was rubbing the frame, i barely trued the wheel enough for me to ride home.

right now it has 1mm clearence between the frame and the tire... seems like this wont last long, any ideas? what to buy\do?

I have had good luck with hazard lite rims or the primo balance rim. I rode both for ramps and street and they stayed true. The hazard lites come in some pretty spiffy colors nowadays.

seems as if the solution is a new rear wheel...

anyone got any advice?

whole new wheel for 14mm and freecoaster...

edit: geisha stree coaster (because 14mm) + spokes (whichever) + rim?

i need a light cheap strong wheel that can handle those lame tailwhip attempts i f*cked my current rim with

An Odyssey hazard lite triple walled rim with 48 stainless steel spokes will last the distance.

The Odyssey rims come with triple walls as standard. Get the street geisha, coz it has 48 holes. There's also the reverse thats black or white with 48s.

before you get into that geisha 42 hole idea geishas are 36 hole.

I ride a geisha hooked up to a rhino lite rim.  Ive snapped a few spokes now but nothing like what you described. Ive generally stopped snapping them now I took them to my very friendly bmx shop and told Carlos to "True my F**king rim, bitch.".
