anti slip concrete coverings
« on: September 20, 2014, 10:55:59 AM »
I've got a nice new indoor spot..
If im turbine-ing super hard im slipping out...

Thinking of giving it a coat of some anti slip paint.
Got a fear its a heap of balony, and may just f*ck it.

Anybody used any of these anti slip concrete clear coatings....

I've read about adding aluminum beads/ polyurethane grit / silica sand
Road a new tennis court a few weeks ago coated with the new Blue acrylic resurface material that seems to be doing the rounds. Grippy for sure. but my elbows and tired got a cane-ing. didn't enjoy it at all.

So anybody out there with a indoor spot, that they have had to give a coat. ?
I'm not a big soda drinker so haven't tried that yet.
but at the moment i have a industrial vacuum i do the whole spot before mopping.

Hoping to hold a jam there one day, would be nice to have a perfect surface

I restore floors, although mostly timber, I have done a few concrete grinding and polishing jobs too.
Sealing a concrete/cement floor can often make it more slippery. Unsealed concrete can be grippy unless its been ground, then it has a smoother finish. Some concrete can be permanently dusty making it slippery. Sealed floors have some grip, but if they get wet they become extremely slippery. Adding grit to sealers/polyurethanes is a great way to give your floor some more grip, but the courser the grit and the grippier you make it, will increase tyre wear and hurt more when you crash.

I'd vaccuum the concrete, buy some concrete polyurethane sealer and add some fine sand to the mix, doing two coats.

thanks

Sounds a bit of a gamble..

just put down some coke... see how goes.

i vacuum with a big industrial vacuum then mop.
might lower tyre pressure a bit too see how goes....

cheers
