I don't think anyone is so mad that they would boycott them. Finding the right tires and forks is already hard enough without politics coming into play. It's no biggie how it all went down. Ody can come and go as they please. I'm glad they were in it for a little while.

Hi Adam,

Thanks for writing.

We will continue to make flatland forks and cranks, and the Frequency-G tires are still in production.

We support flatlanders like Chase Gouin, and we have a lot of flow riders that we work with still. Flatware as a brand didn’t take off in the way that we hoped for, so we encouraged most of our pro flat riders to look for new sponsors in 2014.

See you at Toast!

I wonder what Odyssey's expectations were with Flatware in the first place?

I think they lost a lot of money with the Flatware frames warranty.
Were there issues with the frames?  Did they really have to warranty a large amount of the frames?

Ive read that some have broken(Waltz V1) and were replaced by V2 to cover warranty.

On the contrary, my buddies V2 cracked and they gave him a purple V1.
Im sure the delay in releasing the V1 had a lot to do with slow sales since the bent downtube was an outgoing trend by the time it hit the market.

Clearly 5 years of product testing appears to have paid off.

I really liked the Thumbtack grips. The thumb wedge worked great for me. Probably went through 20 pair from learning hikers.

I also thought the V2 Waltz was almost perfect. Really my only complaint is that it's a little too long for my tastes.

I liked the V2 waltz also with the exception of the thin dropouts.  Chain tensioners were VERY hard to find that are compatible with such a thin dropout.  The forks are nice though.  I just went back to Flatware forks after a year on my St Martins.

There are some other grips that have that same style flange,

Eastern Skull comes to mind, I think these were probably out before the Thumbtacks and are still available. - http://www.global-flat.com/parts/part/1210

Eclats new Moon grips also have a similar flange but smaller - http://www.global-flat.com/parts/part/1292
