Is this an ARES Alloy Pegs
« on: November 06, 2013, 06:39:22 AM »
Hello guys,

I am planning to buy 2 pairs of pegs because I'm just starting to learn flatland.
I just want to ask if this are real ARES pegs as the owner claimed.

He is selling this for $9.5 for 2 pairs.
Thanks to anyone who can answer my question ;D

But still, $9.5 is cheap, so buy them anyways.

There are steel versions of these pegs, be wary; alloy versions are pretty hefty too compared to pegs nowadays.

What? No. Don't buy them. Those pegs look like they could be awful. Save your money.

They are sort of "mid-school" in size, but there's nothing wrong with that.
And what pegs are you going to buy for $9.5?

The seller also told me that it was used and also, it was meant for old school bmx.
It was made from alloy but still i think that it would be heavy.

Thanks for the infos guys.
I am new to BMX parts since I just started flatland this year. I just want help from pros like you since I was deceived by a LBS last july. He sold me 1 pair of pegs that i thought was specifically for flatland. But it was really for motorcycles. Though I still use them today because I can't find cheap pegs here. But i don't trust that pegs, it might broke on me while doing tricks and maybe break my bones or face or something. ;D

Well,

Hello again,

Roaming around the internet gave me some options on what pegs to buy.
These are all local brand BMX parts.

Scrapbikes Flatland Pegs.
Full knurlings
6061 Alloy

Scrapbikes Hard Street Pegs
CrmO full heat treated
Multiple butted

Here's the new Scrapbikes Super Light Pegs
aircraft 7075 alloy
triplr butted

Enemy Team Pegs
CrmO 4140 full heat treated
Double butted
Dent Prevention Design
(This is shorter than the scrapbikes pegs)

I don't think he sells this one today but i'll ask
Scrapbikes CrmO-Plastic Pegs.

Those are my options for my pegs that i will buy because those are the cheapest pegs I could find here. They cost $22-$24 per pair.

And also I have this as another option

It is made of alloy
and cost around $7 per pair.

What do you guys think? Which peg that i posted would last me a lifetime or so.?

Hello Guys,

Now, after wandering around some LBS near where i live. I found these alloy pegs. It's lightweight and cheap. I got it Php 250 ($5.73/pair). I guess this will do the job.

Also, I got a new 28T sprocket to replace my 36T. The lady is selling it for Php 825 ($18.90) But I got them for Php 650 ($14.89). What do you think about it guys? It looks cool. And I think it is a DK Iron Cross Sprocket. Is this a good buy?

Honestly, I begged the lady to lower the price even more, but her store was not in a good place and few people buy from her so I bought this because I felt bad for her.

Yep, got good deals. The DK iron cross is a hefty sprocket, probably will last a life time if treated with care, was designed for street riding. Those items would cost twice as much in Singapore.

Thanks!
but still don't have a 19mm adapter for the sprocket.
and I need to go to a machine shop to make the pegs compatible with my 14mm axle Freecoaster.
