Hey all,

I am looking for a bike and want to start riding again.

Does anyone ride Flatland in Adelaide? What are the best spots? Cheers.

Hi,

Yes I would not be surprised, trying not to hate on this city but it has disappointed me in a few ways as I recently moved here. Still that will not stop me from riding flatland, and Melbourne is under half a day by car where I could meet other riders on long weekends for sessions :D

Adelaide seems a bit dead for flatland right now and Brisbane has like 6-7 flat riders
right now and I know Stu always told me there are more, but I do not know how things
are there right now as I have not heard from Stu for awhile.

Melbourne at one time had 9-10 flat riders there riding and again I do not know how
many are riding there now and one of my favorite Australian riders use to ride there
in Watts and Stu use to tell me stories about him and I saw clips of him riding which is
just amazing.

Perth had quite a few flatlanders also in 5-6 flatlanders who rode daily and again I
do not know who rides over there in the Western Australia now and a lot of those
riders were pretty young so yeah who knows what is going on there!

Sydney had a few flatlanders there and probably still some are riding there and I hate
to tell you that you picked the wrong city to move to as your probably alone there in
Adelaide for flatland and brisbane and the Gold Coast is still probably the hottest city
and area to ride flatland in the amount of riders there!

Hey,

Thanks for the reply. I moved from WA and never met the riders there before I got started again due to knee surgery. I know there are a few riders there and in Sydney where I used to ride half a life-time ago. Interesting about the Gold Coast and Brisbane, depending on what happens here next year I might move on from this city. Its a great city although it has minimal entertainment and its very hard to find people with simular interests as myself.

First I need to find a DK Opsis at least or an Eastern Enso. Sucks about the flatland thing although I will not be here forever and when I move next I would take employment opportunities/lifestyle and flatland into account

The thing about Brisbane is they have young riders there and some as young
as 10 years old learning flatland and there is a program there for young flat
riders plus there are older riders like Tony Newton as I knew Tony's brother,
Tim and I know also quite a few flatlanders from Brisbane including Stumpy
and Stu along others and they have one of the biggest and most active flatland
scenes in Australia.

I have more ties to Brisbane than any other areas of Australia and it is far the
place to be for Flatland and you can find them riding at that park and if you can
find it then you can be hooked up with more information than I am giving you.
I am sure you can find a job in Brisbane and if you into entertainment than
Melbourne is a better place for you to be but I am not sure, except Shane who
still rides there and it is not as good I think in riders than Brisbane and I am more
into the flat riders scene than the night life and go clubbing or pub jumping as
said.

Living in Brisbane and the tropics of the Gold Coast has its advantages if you
want to ride and maybe not the place if you want to do other things than work
and ride and maybe go out once in awhile to a club or go pub jumping.

Can't say I am not surprised. I am still going to ride though, still have it in me to ride.

Also I would probably do road trips to Sydney and Melbourne twice per year for D U G

Okay it sounds like you have it all sorted out then
and if you see Stu,just give him an arm punch and
said that is from Mutt as he will know what that is
about!

First I've heard of a program for flat riders in Brisbane? Yes it probably does have the over all highest average level of riding.  There's many. Riders here riding in various spots.
No Worries...
