I'm digging this top load version as well:

http://www.treebicycleco.com/top-load-collet-stem/

Are they considering make both of these in 38-40mm size?

I have a Tree Collet Stem going on new Street bike, Thing is DIALED, really beautiful when you have it in your hands, it feels really i don't know how to describe it umm... Sturdy? I actually asked Tree a few weeks back about the possibility of a shorter version & their reply was... They really like supporting the Flatland community, nothing is in the works right now but!.. Don't count anything out for the future.

Pat, when you mentioned about the shorter Collet were you hinting to something in the works or were you just throwing the design out there for guys to look at?

It may be in the works. Tree and I have talked about a stem in the past and now that more flat riders are riding longer stems, a shorter Collet may just work. Its a great design. I appreciate everyones feedback. Keep it coming.

I just bashed my knee on the bolt on my Colony TLD stem today which I just installed this week. I dig that stem but the bolts suck. Bring on something else.

I like 38mm for flat, and 40mm - 45mm for park, so the increased interest in the mid range stems sounds good to me. The most comfy rear end of any stem was the last Quamen macross 26mm. So rounded and knee friendly, best design ever, just way too short.

Found on the merged, http://themerged.com/odyssey-38mm-lincoln-stem/

it looks like it will be labeled Odyssey and not Flatware.

Saw this too, and I think it's a good idea. With the odyssey label it has more sales potential as opposed to the strictly flatland branding. With the advent of more flat inspired street it should hopefully catch on!

Heres the Drop Load Street Version on my Benny L...

The Stem is fully installed, there is a gap between the 2 Stem plates when the bolts tighten down. The Collet piece drops down bellow the bottom piece slightly when its fully tight. It's a GREAT stem, If i could get a shorter version i would totally be down to buy one!

Hey guys I run the tree collet topload on my flatland bike, it slipped because of me not installing it properly but now ive installed it properly it hasn't slipped and its so solid! And the rounded back is incredible! Yes I hope they make a shorter version too. Sorry this is the only close up of my bike I have at the moment.
