165mm is the norm for modern flatland bikes nowadays.

id say anything longer than 170 is probably not a great idea. with todays shorter flat frames-u will end up whacking ur feet on the ront tire and rear pegs with longer cranks.
he's right, 160-165mm should do u good. if u really want to get shorter-Profile goes down to i think 145mm. that might feel too short tho!? nver tried em so i wouldnt know.

Odyssey Phat Black Widows go down to 145mm.

They got 145, 155 and 165's for us.

I'm riding 175's right now and even on my longer Slammer frame and 14" CS there too long for my liking. I was riding 165 thermals but they cracked around the pedal area..they were used and beat got them cheap so...I liked the 165's

well some people don't even use pedals.. that shows how little flatlanders actually use pedals. So having extremely short cranks shouldn't matter, like really what disadvatages are there?

Disadvantages of shorter cranks are that tricks standing on one pedal are a little tougher because you are further from the balance point.  I would say it depends on the rest of your setup and your style.  If your bike has a really high bb and your trying pedal steams you might struggle a bit with really short cranks.  I still wouldn't go longer that 170 unless your Trevor.

Running longer cranks gives you more leverage making it easier to pedal, making pedaling harder with shorter cranks on the same gear-ratio. I'm also aboard not getting anything over 170mm but, I would suggest you take how you would like your drive-chain to feel while considering.
